    That looks like a spring house. Spring water is around fifty some degrees when it comes out of the ground. People would build a small rock enclosure around it. Kept the space cool. Used like a refrigerator. Placed pitchers of milk and other perishables in it to prolong the time before it would spoil. My grandparents had one.

    • @PARelicHunters
      @PARelicHunters  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Crystal, that seems to be what most people are saying, it's a spring house.

    • @Criminilizereligion
      @Criminilizereligion ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We had a similar enclosure up on the side of the mountain about 1500 feet from out house and it was where our drinking water came from, even though the stream was much much closer. But needed the elevation to get the water to the houses and barns, as it had to go down the hill across a flat and back up about 1/3 the elevation. All predating electric pumps. In the 80s they installed a heating element up there to keep the spring free from freezing. I remember during a snow storm going up the hill with my dad to unfreeze it. However i made the mistake of touching the heating element and burnt myself pretty damn good. Late 80s we had a well drilled right next to the house. Though that froze more often then the spring on the hill did.

    Great Hunt guys. Just to add to your story on the Heart Heel Plate it could be very true. I have found two of those. I live in Nevada where the Red Light District is still legal in certain counties. I've heard the same story. With the dirt roads and snow men would follow the Heart Shaped Impressions to where the lady was at. Love the old bottle you found. What kind of Medallion did you find. Hey Sean hope your feeling better. Congrats on all the IHPs you found in that small area and Copper. Very Beautiful Button you found there also. Loved all the Relics and IHPs. Take Care

    I grew up near Marion Center, Pa. Very small town. Honey Hollow road has an old coal mine from early 1900. I used to explore old shacks near mine. Our pasture had old wire where they kept the ponies used to pull carts out of mine with. But are old homesteads further down road might be worth checking out.

    Love that two piece button! Considering the time period of where you are hunting the brass bell you found may be a sleigh bell. They were used just like crotal bells and conestoga bells and sometimes used in sets of three or more. The blank cent that was found could be a planchet that was never stamped if there is no sign of stamping?

    Someone probably commented already but that cage thing you pulled out of the spring looks like 1 of 2 things to me. Either a light cage, but as its in the water like that i would lead more towards saying its part of a hose screen cage just missing its cage. As that peice doesnt look that big. THey are used to keep rocks, leaves, sticks and other larger debris from being sucked into the pump.

    • @PARelicHunters

    He said the age of the map and I'm like damn this is some PA National Treasure stuff lol

    • @jeanponce2017
      @jeanponce2017 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pennsylvania itself is a national treasure. Dutch came up the Delaware in the late 1500's and a few quakers settled in Penns and NJ so there's the possiblity of digging really old artifacts and coins. I think it was like 1609 when Henry Hudson explored this area after coming down exploring NY. The only thing is nobody mapped or kept records on early homestead locations so we only know that things happened in regions not specific locations until early maps started in the late 1700's but the rivers and creeks are great starting points to search from. One thing about Penns as opposed to Jersey is they had natural field stones to build things with that lasted over time. In south Jersey they mostly used locally cut cedar and even though cedar handles the weather well it breaks down in 200 years unless it's built up off of the ground and unfortunately they built pole barn style structures and eventuality termites and rot ate away at the cedar posts which were usually whole trees de branched when the natural pesticide containing oils in them dried out. But what they did leave behind were shell dumps and if they had glass or pottery crock chards with it then it was early settlers if it's just shells it was native mounds they left behind. But I'm jealous of Penns because the soil was fertile so the population there exploded and it's so much bigger of an area. Jersey has great sites of early ship building relics though with the hand tools they used to build whaling ships and today it's damp marsh land what was high banks centuries ago so the secret here isn't exactly only the woods but the now wetlands hold a lot of secrets.
      I better go I got fired up thinking about it while I'm watching the video at the same time. I don't even know what they found yet but I have an idea they dug all kinds of "things"

    I would like to let you know about something I found even though I have found other locations. I was gathering information about ghost trails walking with the elders . A picture I took had a name that is of importance but it had a triangul under the o and I know what that is but 30yr ago it was deeperand nice after rubbing dirt across it itook the picture and noticed that triangul it doesn't look like it is the same age but noticeable
