    It isn't a flower broach, it's Veteran or Patriotic related. Those are two crossed flags, with something I can't make out in between.

      I think he needs to watch your channel to learn about. Hammered Roman silver coins, especially the coin with the CON and OCT, on it. It looked to me like one of the coins that you find out in the fields of Perthshire! (Love your channel)

      I recomment you watch The Scottish Detectorist channel. Very educational. He finds Hammered Roman coins. Kinda like the Silver coins you found. Also Gorgeous Georgian silver coin.. and the small coin with a CON on it... its old roman I believe. Good luck! Keep hunting.

    You can make a cool night light out of the old insulators. Make an octagonal or round platform make a relief for the insulator to sit in and put a socket for a LED Christmas type bulb in the middle.

    That field never disappoints. Just amazing you keep finding coins there. You have to wonder what the people were like that lived there. Have you ever kept track of where you find items in the field, such as finding the coins along a path way, perhaps?

    we have sulphur shelf over here in WV. it is SO delicious. i par-boil it before freezing and then use the liquid from that to make wonderful mushroom soup. do you have it up there too. we also use the chanterelles, morels and one called bradleys here. they have a reddish cap and actually smell sort of fishy when scarred.

    Brad, the clover field may have had a shop or two around it. Unless the home had many a guest dropping their coins! I'm thinking the more iron targets you dig the more your gonna find in that huge field good too see Mike again! Get the man a shovel and a working detector and get back out there!

    I think the shield shaped thingy is a strap end cover. It makes the strap easier to thread in a buckle and prevents wear on the strap, but that's just like my opinion so YMMV.

    Tecopa Death Valley. Along Death Valley Scotties railroad. I found a metal button with a locomotive on it and the words Scotties special.
    Love working Death Valley, Lake Tahoe by Lucky Baldwins Casino, and my prospecting buddy has permission to hunt an area or the Grand Canyon. I ve been recovering from Afib an other problems age 81. Maybe in a month or so I will get a couple of Mine Labs and do Quartzsite an??

    you could take a piece of pine 2x4, and a rubber hammer, and straighten that bent coin without making scratches in it.

    The shield looks like a military Mcclellan saddle size shield. alot of times they indicated the size of the saddle it was attached to.

    Hunting old building sites is why I love the Garrett Apex with the "No Iron" setting. It isn't really discriminating but it doesn't give beeps of iron targets. It makes hunting an iron bed so enjoyable just digging non-ferrous targets.

    I’ve had dig sites like that and all I could summize was that they DRILLED ALL SILVERS and put on string …. Hopefully at some point the dropped a whole string!!!

    I believe a strong measure of a man is in the friends he attracts and keeps. It certainly seems like I might be correct in your case as I find the friends who claim you are classy, stand-up sort of folks who all have an aura of dignity much like your own. Bravo, Brad.     I appreciate that you are excited about horse tack. So many detectors write it all off as junk. Horses are a huge part of our history & were the most valuable part of many people’s lives.

      I love finding horse tack and buckles, even enjoy finding horse shoes. it helps paint a picture of what the area was used for and the activities that happened way back when

      Horses were indispensable! Almost more than cars for us. We can get on a bus or train to travel long distances, but for them, it was a horse or nothing.
