Wow that place is awesome, some amazing coins there. I don't even think I've found a KG2 half penny in that good condition here in the UK, and I've found hundreds. Has to be a gold coin or 2 there, I'd be back there in a heart beat

Why are there holes in some of them????

It is truly staggering to me the amount of artifacts that can be found around the planet from different time periods that to me just proves to me how many people there have been way before we were ever thought of.. Due to primitive living, wars, disasters.. I live in Oklahoma and the amount of arrowheads that are and can be found just blows my mind. You get this sight picture of sparse groups of Natives from centuries ago yet coins, buttons, bullets in the states to almost no matter where in Europe you can find relics from the wars in places that looks as if no one has ever been there. After using LIDAR in South America they have found full cities with roads.. I live in Oklahoma now and have a creek behind my house, and you could go and walk that creek and the banks close to it and find arrow heads. Lots of them. Almost any creek or river you can find knapped arrowheads. This property has been in my family for decades and still can find these artifacts right here less than 40ft behind my house.. Its just wild to me. Out on land that is nowhere near a town and they are all over the place. I'm not a hunter but anyone ever asked to go hunt then I let them. Amazing the different shapes and styles and the amounts. Pretty cool.

I'm going to have to disagree with the Gold coin find. For one Gold doesn't tarnish. I looks the same no matter how many years in the ground or under the sea. There was only one 1864 Gold one dollar coin minted in the U.S. and that was the type 3 large Indian head Princess 1856-1889. Not sure exactly what you found there, but is cool all the same.

I bought a metal detector. Now I need to find some friends with the same energy.
