First impressions of the Philippines and trying Filipino street food. We head off to two markets, a huge mall, and a 7-Eleven. Not only do we try Lumpia, lechon, fried bread, ube ice cream, squid, and a bunch of other foods, but we also show you the prices. What a first impression of the Philipines, and the great Filipino people. We stayed in Makati.
Thanks for watching

So glad that you enjoyed this trip and appreciating our cuisine!
It is really good
The national dish of the Philippines is called "pagpag." It's made by refrying chicken bones that have been collected from the trash. Since the majority of the people in the Philippines live in slums and lack education, a lot of them have to find discarded bones in restaurants, refry them, and eat them.

Pandan is a grasslike leaf that is aromatic.. it is often used when cooking rice, o give it a nice citrusy aroma. also used in several filipino desserts. Buko-Pandan is a very popular combo. the pandan leaves are then boiled ans mixed with gelatin make those green pandan jellos, mixed together with coconut water and milk with some shedded coconuts, makes a wonderful refreshing drink. we also have Buko Pandan salad. a sweet salad composed of shredded Buko(coconut), Pandan jelly, tapioca balls, condensed mik, coconut water and cream.
That is my kind of salad, haha, Thanks for all the great information
So much to discover and eat ❤
so true
Philippines only has slums and pagpag
You’re giving a good vibes i’m enjoying to watch you. Keep it up and stay longer here in the philippines until december there’s so much to explore move in to BGC area check out the modern places in manila and ofcourse the spanish colonial period. Take care you two. ☺️☺️☺️
Thank you! Will do!
Unfortunately, it's still the rainy season now. Best to come here from December to the summer months (Mar-Jun). However, we do observe Christmas here starting Sept., so you may have already seen Christmas decors in malls, etc. :)
And btw, PH is World Travel Awards' World's Leading Beach and Dive Destination in 2022. So i hope you get to experience our beaches too despite the weather. :)
Thanks for the info I dive, so I'm looking forward to trying some, as the rain doesn't matter, haha
Hello there. Yummy. Macapuno=a variety of coconut, . langka=jackfruit. The fish is a milkfish aka bangus (pronounced "bangh oss"). I haven not watched the other vids as yet. Did you have crispy pata (pork hock)? Also, calamansi drink? I love pandan.. so aromatic (I buy the fresh leaves here, boil them and add sugar for a nice cool drink. You can also add milk etc or make cake). Did you try halo halo? Hmm lechon :-).
Still so much to try, thanks for all the info, do you visit here a lot, or are there a lot of Filipinos near you.
There's about 3 Filipino restaurants where I live and I have a few friends from the country.

Philippines is the slum capital of South East Asia
Philippines is different The only Catholic country in South East Asia, with American and Spanish influence. Churches are common site not temples.
@@jesscatangay9384 You are wrong, Philippines is not the only roman catholic country in South East Asia. Timor Leste has a higher percentage of Roman Catholics than Philippines. Timor Leste is 97.6% Roman Catholic and Philippines is only 86% Roman Catholic.
YOU CAN TRY TO GO TO MALL WHEN ITS RAINING

Cool everything is in English, what is the Official Language there?
They speak a few different languages that side,Spanish being one of them and the local indigenous languages
The Philippines has Two Official Languages: Filipino and English.
Mot People can understand Spanish Vocabulary/Terms too.
There are also some different Regional Dialects.
But 99% of Filipinos can Speak ENGLISH.
It is cool
Everything you will see in the streets are in English, it is the second language, all official documents are in English.
That last fruit you eat you can peel the skin of that fruit with a knife and sprinkle with salt to eat it
