Lemon Pig, a mysteriously sour cryptid with unknown origins… Some say coins fall from their mouths, that they were the creation of a forgotten company, or that their eyes can pop out. Seeing one is meant to be good luck, so keep your eyes (and lemons) peeled! 🍋🐽 (I don’t know what this means either lol)
that pen actually looks awesome over the orange paint! I feel like this could be a really cool art supply on a budget because you'd only need this one colour as opposed to a pack of different colour glitter gel pens ❤
The more character designy ones give me Hilda vibes and I love that! They wouldn’t seem out of place in a magical, folklore filled world like that and I love that!
Not necessarily, many European countries associate exactly the same characteristics with pigs. This is also the case here in Germany. Pigs symbolise luck, prosperity, strength and fertility. At New Year, small marzipan pigs with a Cent in their mouth or back are given as gifts to friends and family. The symbolism behind this goes back to Germanic times and the god Freyr and the boar Gullinborsti, who pulls Freyr's wagon. Edit: I've just seen that even in some parts of Germany and Switzerland, pigs like Kasey's are common. Zitronenschweinchen - lemon pigs.
ok but I was sure you made this up cus I have never heard of lemon pigs in my life, but then I googled it and nope, apparently you did not invent this crazy tradition
first thing that came to my mind was "Obon" the Japanese tradition of using eggplant and cucumber creatures with tooth picks to honor ancestors and those are vessels to transport messages to them
A lot of the old people around here (Kentucky )suggest putting cleaned pennies in like new years cabbage crockpots and other green foods for good luck. (I think the green is a Irish thing, maybe?) I've never put a penny in my food for obvious reasons but the penny seems to be a theme w/ different people/cultures. When I was little, 40 years ago... I sang the "penny song" (Find a penny, pick it up. All day, you'll have good luck.) & still do in my head when I find one on the ground. 😊 My daughter pointed it out to me when she was young about me never picking up "tail" pennies and always leaving them. I told her it was bad luck and she made me realize that the penny song never says anything about a heads or tails so it must of been something the adults taught me when I was little. I still inwardly cringe when she picks up the tail pennies. It's funny how stuff like that sticks. 😅
i learned about tail pennies growing up in a portuguese household in new england! my mom used to say the same thing. you'll never catch me picking up a tails penny
I was taught the full song as "find a penny, puck it up. All day long you'll have good luck. Pass the penny to a friend, then your luck will never end"
i have glitter watercolors which i use a lot! The colors are generally muted and very transparent ( even for watercolors), so they only work as an overlay for already painted stuff. The sparkles do rub off even after they dry, but not so badly that it disappears completely. It generally rubs across the entire image and i actually quite like the look of very faint glitter everywhere besides where i painted it. So I wanted to say even if ur pen's glitter rubs off, it could be smth similar
Which glitter paint do you use? I use mine a lot also mixed with colours or sometimes underneath. And I find they do rub off, but not really that much. (But to be fair I'm messy with ny paint water, so oftentimes the whole page will have glitter anyway, as it's mixed in with it all accidentally)
@@Lemu_with_a_shirt i use toycolor glitter watercolors, which is for kids, and I layer it on my normal watercolors which are of a buncha different brands XD (schmincke, white knights and van gogh) I imagine professional glitter watercolors would be more pigmented, but I rather prefer the subtle effect of the kids ones! I just got them as a kid and never felt the need to upgrade
@@lisandepuredream9056 Ah that makes sense. I didn't have glitter paint as a kid, so I got the van gogh glitter and shimmer set. Can recommend them if you ever run out, they have no additional pigment, unlike most glitter paints.
The little lemon guy holding a coin looks like he just found the coin on the sidewalk and is in a moral dilemma to either keep it or turn it in to the police and have it returned to the original owner😂
Hullo Kasey, I am shaking my head back and forth! I watch a silly cartoon “Adventure Time !” Every time you said lemon pig I kept hearing lemon drop and that character is a PIG! A screeching sour one for sure! You can come up with more than a few out there ideas, well done Kasey! Thank you for sharing your sweet lil lemon piggies!
Apparently Zara Cousins says that it's moreso a Chinese thing - in China, pigs symbolize money and apparently people born in the Year of the Pig will be very rich, according to astrology. Don't ask me, I know next to nothing about Chinese astrology.
It's so funny that the concerned piggy is like contemplating whether or not to put the dirty coin in its mouth
We actually have a similar tradition in Wales called Calennig!
It’s commonly an apple decorated with cloves and sticks ^^

It looks a lot like the pooka from season 3- I love that guy 😂
Apparently it comes from the Chinese zodiac as pig represents wealth and good fortune.
The advertisement came later

i wonder too if you can tint the glitter by painting over it with watercolour after its dried, could add dimension to space drawings too
It says 13 seconds ago but there is a comment that says 1 day ago
I think patreons get early access to videos.
It's because Kasey shares her videos 24 hours early access on Patreon.
So, I'm assuming it's first set to unlisted, Kasey share's the link with her patrons. And then she makes it public?
It’s so cute and goofy it looks like it spat the coin out 😂❤
Can you turn the concerned litte guy (in the right upper corner) into a good luck charm sticker? I just love him so much!
This lime swine is so cute 🥰 I wish Kasey would’ve done art peace of him his so cute and weird like a Gibley character 🐷🐖❤❤❤

This was an interesting drawing session. Your creativity always inspires me.
first thing that came to my mind was "Obon" the Japanese tradition of using eggplant and cucumber creatures with tooth picks to honor ancestors and those are vessels to transport messages to them
I've got the gelly roll in every glitter color they have, and they are very nice to use on top of watercolor, markers or even color pencils
I love these! Who would win in a fight, Lemon Pig or Gregg?
Why are they fighting?! 😭
You could have done a Lemon Pig tree, with lemon pigs in various stages of development.
this was my intro to Lemon pigs. 🍋🐖and I think they're adorable. 😊👍
LEMON PIG IS ADORABLE!
Fun fact in spanish the word for cloves is the same that is for nails (clavos) sooo 😅 you put nails eyes in your lemon pig 😮
I enjoy the Sketchbook videos so much
I **love** that lemon pig character, he's adorbs.
That is cute lemon pig sooo cute 😂
that background music all i can hear is ghost Mario being a back up singer at a jazz club going " ya-hoooooo" "ya- hhoooooo"
The lemon pig looks like it would just make sounds, meh mehmeh. And want to draw one now!

AWWW THERE ALL CUTE 😍
Your art makes me want to drink lemonade or squeeze lemon in my tea 🫖
I've made a lemon pig on new years for years!
Also I've never heard of a "lemon pig"...but we do do "apple turkeys" for Thanksgiving!! We need more holiday fruit animals!!
To make the apple turkey...we use an olive for the head..toothpicks for the neck, legs, and tail..and raisins for the neck and tail feathers!!!
I think its time to use a fountain pen....I suggest twsbi!!! Awesome for drawing!!!
Reminds me of your Tokyo treat boxes!

such a funky lil guy. i love him 💛 now i want to make one 😂
They're Pigmin!!! So cute.😊
These are so cute!
not me trying to tilt my phone at the end trying to see the glitter shining 🤡
I love the music 🎶
It reminds me so much of yellow Pikmin

lil humanoid lemon pig guy reminds me of a pikmin lol
i was rooting for you to draw one with sunglasses
Did anyone else high key hope she drew a chthonic lemon pig? (Look up Cthulhu lemon and you’ll get it)

Mmmmm, lemonpig. Acceptable.
i love it!
Reminds me of those fruits and vegetables with just wood legs tbh
He would say boink.
Okay but do you watch the Tim tracker? Because they randomly started doing this for new years despite it being a weird thing for dinner parties
My bf said the pig with stilts should be named pork chop sticks. 😂 😊 ❤
I feel like this was a missed opportunity to troll us. If you had told us that this was a weird Canadian tradition I would have 100% believed you. 😂
amazing
I would love to see you do dolphins. Different kind of looking dolphins. That would be so cool EEE🐬🪽
i love him!! hes just a lil guy
O k I'll draw a limit pig and post it on my community channel 🐬🪽
Its Lemon pig a Pokemon? :D
Your ears look like eyes and the clove make a mustache above his mouth
Only on the physical pig
Or a cursed peppa pig character 😂
I have never heard of a lemon pig in my entire life, is this a canadian thing???

It gained popularity online from a 70s cook book
🍋🐷
😎👍👍
😍😂👍
hiiiiiii
Foxy adding nipples isn't ok but her is? No offense, love the art! ^^
Im the 23rd comment
LIMon? PINny? It’s like listening to someone say “ole”. It’s OIL. You boil water, you don’t “bowl” it.
That’s shimmer not glitter lol
It does look that way in the video, but I have one of those pens and it's absolutely glitter. Their shimmer pens look very different.
I use to love her videos but now
They are just boring....
You can do better kasey ❤❤
