    Great advice re doing Alp di Susi and Seceda. I’m in middle of planning our 2024 trip and was struggling to fit everything in. Makes sense two beautiful valleys only need to see one.

    We are just back from wonderful Italy. Drove 10,000kms through the North before heading South and could not fault it.
    Roads are scary as you said especially if your not from Europe. We just dont have those narrow roads in Australia or on the other hand the fast speed! So many incredible sites and 5 weeks could easily have been 10 weeks! Ortisei was magnificent, a dont miss place. As was Lago di Braies just wow. It was Sept '22 for us and perfect travel weather. Do the funicular ride on opposite side to Seceda too! Watch time of yr in the ski towns as out of Summer season it slows down and some close for a break before the Winter hits. Food places become less easy to find. Not always open.
    We had such a great experience and travelled with an under 4yr old. There was still snow up top so she loved it. Great playground ontop of Seceda which was not expected!

    Went there skiing and overnighted in Ortisei. Taking the first cable car at 8.30am up to Seceda: blue sky, peacfully alone, freshly groomed virgin ski runs and that stunning landscape. I honestly got goosebumps, it was like a dream.
    One good tip I can give you for next visit in Val Gardena, go hike up to Gran Cir right for the sunset, its amazing, you only need a flashlight to descend in the dark.

      @@TwosomeTravellers me neither, can't go home because of the virus. I'm so fortunate I just lived 2-3Hrs from the dolomites. You should go visit lake Garda the next time there are plenty awesome places to visit around the lake specifically at Riva del Garda.

      Hey Daniel! Not too sure if this is a common occurrence to be honest. This was shot pretty earlier in the morning so could try getting there (will beat the crowds too) at a similar time. Either way, no doubt the views will be magnificent!

    I love the Italian language. Just look that word "kassa" at 3:53
    I don't know what is means, but it looks so beautiful and is probably a very normal word there.

    • @Leo-uu8du
      @Leo-uu8du 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      And now I am confused. Is the word "kasse" at 12:05 a regional dialect or does Italian have two very simular words

    • @mattiaguidali767
      @mattiaguidali767 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Leo-uu8duneither of them is Italian, the Italian word is "cassa" and that means checkout desk, or in this case ticket desk. Kasse is German for the same word. Most parts of the dolomites are German speaking areas

    • @Leo-uu8du
      @Leo-uu8du 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mattiaguidali767 So why "kassa" with a 'k' then? Is this Ladin?
      I didn't know that there are German parts in Italy.

    • @mattiaguidali767
      @mattiaguidali767 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Leo-uu8du my guess would be it is Ladin. And yes, in Italy there are some parts that are German speaking, some are Ladin speaking, some are Freanch speaking. There is also some towns in the south in which they speak dialects that are basically Greek and Albanian

    • @Leo-uu8du
      @Leo-uu8du 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mattiaguidali767 So I just googled it and found out that "cassa" is Italian and Ladin, "Kassa" is Austro-Bavarian and "Kasse" is, as you already stated, German.
      Interesting that Austro-Bavarian uses a more similar word to Italian than German.
