I’ve cleared that code started and drove it. Sometimes it’ll take a bit for it to pop back on. Did you have any more issues with that code after replacing the purge valve. I don’t want to replace it only to find out it was the vacuum line. Thanks
Informing of bolt size and showing where the bolts are would be a great help. I noticed on this video, there was a bolt hole on the sensor that the bolt just seemed to disappear with no explanation and no bolt sizes or play by play.
I have a serious problem with my 325i I was replacing the purge valve and the vacuum tube was pulled from the rubber hose under the manifold, please how do I fix?
Having this exact fault code, car runs fine. Once the eml is reset, light stays off until fuel is added, then comes back on within 20 miles. Car still runs fine... Is it the valve or summat else?
You need to erase or clear it with an OBDII scan tool. You can do that with even a cheap $20 one from a local Walmart! Or if you're in a bind, Autozone or a similar store may erase it for you for free as they have a scan tool to scan codes for free. Whoever scans it may erase for you - just ask!
Thanks for the video. Hey if the car is running great and you passed the AIR test already. Would I still need to replace the purge valve? The car runs great, could I just keep driving it
tony Kari I would recommend doing the repair as it controls fuel vapors for emissions. The part is inexpensive and job is easy so I’d say replace it so it doesn’t cause other issues down the line.
Hi, 3 issues; 1- some of the LED lights on my 2006 BMW X5 E53 are gone, so I can't see the display properly. I was wondering if you, or anyone here can upload a detailed video about all the functions of the radio buttons. I can't figure out how to switch from radio to cd with the buttons. 2- I'm getting a constant 4x4 light, any ideas about the cause and repairs? 3- I got FAH 250 error code which my mechanic tells me is for evap purge valve, if you could share a video for 2006 X5 E53 for it. Much appreciated..!!!
Hi, I have a. 2001 BMW 530i with 79k miles. I have the p0455 coming up. I already changed the gas cap and check the tank hoses, everything looks fine. Any suggestions? Thanks
Crank it’s a £30 part so to be honest at that price it’s worth just doing it. I agree though, for more expensive parts it makes sense to make sure that it’s not something else.
That's for the information. So do I need to start the car and have it running and then open the gas cap? Or can I do it with the car turned off? Lmk please. Thanks
I'm guessing the tabs on all these connections to the valve are broken on this car because removing this valve is much more difficult if nothing is broken. Basically every connection has a tab that requires a secret handshake to remove. This video covers all of that: th-cam.com/video/HdVL38kqpRc/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=1AAuto%3ARepairTips%26SecretsOnlyMechanicsKnow
Thanks Alan, it has an open recall for both the driver and passenger airbags. It's going in next week for free replacement! Now, to get that steering wheel re-done!

You posted this years ago, and yet here I am in 2023. This is helping me now. Thank you.
🙏🏻
Just purchased the 330Ci and this was my first issue.
Perfect Explanation.
Thanks 👌

Great video. I wish all DIY videos were this well produced and edited.
Thanks Daniel appreciate that!

what are the 2 hoses that connect to the purge valve? and should they be checked for cracks/leaks before replacing the old valve?
I got an 02 350i. This is one of the 4 codes I got 😂 love the video
My 330CI has 222k miles, still running strong. Same issue resolved
the plastic clip on the bottom of the valve crumbled when i tried to squeeze it and now its completely stuck
the bottom hose with the bigger diameter goes where from this valve?
Have you a idle problem?
Best video I’ve watched so far
What if the intake hose doesn’t click back into the canister?

My code didnt go away after replacement, do I have to clear it manually ?
Yes
Did it drive normal after replacing it?
Awesome video...clear, concise, informative, and very helpful! Thank you
Wow such an easy diy this would only take me 15-20 minutes at the most. Hopefully, replacing this will clear my code issue.
If this valve stuck open is the engine going to start ?
yes, it will start but you will have a bad mixture of air an fuel and you mpg will drop because a rich mixture, the car will smell like sh*t inside
I have bought a new one but my light still comes on can you help I have 205k on my xi
Use the grade of gas recommended in your owners manual
will this fix the refueling breather problem too?
Is this in the same position on a 640d? N57D30
223K miles. ... nice. Any oil leaks ?
tony Kari I sold it a while back but no it wasn’t leaking surprisingly
Loving you work hi from Jamaica 🇯🇲
How do you reset the code? Once replaced

Thanks bro, if I let it be will it worsen my car?
It's emissions related gear, its not too hard of a DIY and under $100 I would just take care of it to be honest
Can anyone link me where to buy online that ships to canada?

Great video from a fellow ZHP owner. Going to attempt this DIY as well.

Fredy Rodriguez pay bmw dealer 1 hour labor diagnosis to smoke test the system for leaks. You need a machine it’s the only way
Great clip! Is it the same on a 2001 e39 6cyl? Thanks.
I believe so, yes. Verify the part with realoem.com and your vin
Hey. Would like to share ideas with you on code P0011 bmw e46. This code has made my head go nuts
I have code P4045 and the dealer said it was my purge valve. The code says “EVAP LEAK GROSS Large”
I was hoping for some diagnosis ( wire check , vacuum leaks etc. ) before direct replacement . Kind of lucky guess
Yep and there are some diagnostic tools that have warning on them "Don't change parts based on the error codes" cuz you can get burned :)

This video really helped me replace my evap on my 330ci. Thank you
Dzięki za film . Auto naprawione
The easy way to check if this valve is bad just open the cap tank and if you here vacuum sucked inside the fuel tank replace the valve

Does that mean no more X5 (E53) videos? :(
Hey Glen! Fear not, my wife still has an X5. I will try to record some more videos on the 4.4i before I sell!

Changed it still has that code for a while any thoughts on what else it could be
Eric Valadez In the forums, it looks like a bad gas cap or just dirty cap seal is often the issue.
I’ve replaced the valve AND gas cap and still have the ses light come on :/
check the name of the car, is it BMW? ...if so, the that might be your problem 😆
Thank you I’m definitely gonna do that
lovely gear stick
Thank you for your posting
Great video
Thank you!!!
Thank you!
Cool
Check for airbag recall =P
Thanks Alan, it has an open recall for both the driver and passenger airbags. It's going in next week for free replacement! Now, to get that steering wheel re-done!
make that look too easy!
Just get to the point already
It’s a five minute video. Quit being impatient
Thank you!
