    There needs to be a lawsuit against Walmart /Spark for this because this is essentially a agreement between driver and spark/customer. The customer and spark are saying they will pay X amount and the driver takes the job based on that amount. By allowing customers to pull tips that changes the dynamic and drivers most likely wouldn’t take the rides without the tip.

      Uber does the same, many companies do...
      Barnum & Bailey said a new sucker is born EVERYDAY, and its true.
      It's not their fault as a company if drivers are dull enough to take it, its been like this for years 🤷
      if the general public had any business sense they would stop,butttt 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
      Company is BOOOOOOMING too and your losing, hmmmm 🤔
      You think spark and uber lose any money over it??? Nope 😂😂😂
      They aint out to make drivers rich, they are out to please customers, not you.
      Your simply a tool for them they utilize and disponse of when finished.
      Tell me this, why don't Walmart and Uber allow some of their money to be given back when the customer is not pleased??? They charge a ton of fees. 🤫😂😂😂

      Still the same... Its went to a 50-50 ratio in my area.. haha.. I think its why we have so many batched and late orders these days.. Something DOES need to be done.. Locking in initial tips with the option to add additional, or a Cost+Flat Fee with the option to add additional tips should be customary and common practice across the board due to things like this.. They take advantage of the idgets and ill-informed drivers.. BEST PRACTICE - NEVER-EVER-NEVER Accept an Order unless the BASE PAY is at your accepted rates... Then, any TIPS that clear, are just an added bonus...

    People adjust their tip or remove the tip only because it’s an option for them. Remove the option and you won’t be ripped off anymore. That has to stop. You cannot make a living from people removing the tip “living” money.

    In my area, these customers offer a tip knowing they are going to take it away. First five express deliveries I delivered offered around $20, always got half that when they purposely removed the tip. It has nothing to do with job performance.

      We need a do not deliver list or something. Walmart could care less and doesn’t have our backs. They want us to meet so-called standards, but they won’t maintain professional standards on our behalf byholding, scammers accountable. I don’t care if they pay for Walmart plus or not that’s not how this works. You don’t want to tip take your assorted the store and go get your own stuff I don’t work for free. These people knowingly remove their tips. They are well aware of what they are doing and that the delivery person needs that money there’s no excuse for it. You would expect for Walmart who’s so heavy on us about metrics to keep track of people who are constantly tip baiting people and removing their tips with no explanation at all at least send them an email saying hey, we noticed you removed this tip for someone, was there a problem with the service?

    With all my being, I believe Spark themselves are tricking the system’s backend to take our tips. I don’t usually get tipped baited but once I was looking for $67 in tips for one day and only got half of it by that cutoff point. I called Spark to complain because they have also manipulated my “trip” earnings before and didn’t give me the right amount and I had screenshots that gave proof of what I was supposed to get. So I challenged them on their recordkeeping of my tips. Supposedly they looked it up, and all of a sudden I have an additional $6 in my account. I don’t even trust that that’s correct. I believe there’s even more. And it’s funny, my baiting normally happens very close to that 24 hour period, not earlier. And it happens a lot when I’m having a very productive day or I am working to make an incentive bonus. I don’t trust Spark, but I get enough pay to offset my doubts to some extent. I hate being strict with my money.

I stop doing curbside pick ups to try to eliminate getting tip baited and just do S&D orders and I still never get all my tips and I believe it's because people don't like the substitutes the app gives me. In my market (south of Boston) 19 out of 20 Spark orders are not profitable BECAUSE - there are NO Walmarts in the city of Boston so all the orders come from the Quincy, MA location. 12-14 miles, usually in bumper-to-bumper traffic. These will run you on average 35 minutes to an hour one-way then there’s no chance of another pick up because again there’s no Walmarts in Boston you can try to pick up an Uber ride or maybe a DoorDash but then you got to get sucked into the Boston vortex, it’s rare to find a ride or delivery back to your area. Walmart should have at the very least a warehouse somewhere in Boston. My guess is they’re working on that or maybe I should say my hope. Very rare to get an order under 13 miles - all money losers. All the local orders seem to be handled by Uber Eats and are lowballs ($9.00 for 8 stops over 80 minutes, etc.) It’s an unfortunate situation.

    "Tip" baiting is fraud. Look up the term "binding estimate". They cannot remove any promised payment that is part the contract's acceptance. It is a crime to do so, for both the customer and application owner's for facilitating the fraud. They are on the hook to pay every cent that is offered to the independant third party contractor who is fullfilling the terms of their contracted offer, including the bid amount.

    Best bet for tip baiters is to leave flaming bag of dog poop on door step later on with a generic note from a random spark driver 😂😂😂

  • @oresource
    @oresource ปีที่แล้ว

    And my baiting is usually on the round robins. I don’t trust Spark entirely. Be careful that the trip pay makes sense first. If it’s a nice tip but trash trip amount, beware!

      Baiting calmed down in your market or is it still a problem?

    • @oresource
      @oresource ปีที่แล้ว

      I am at the point now where I accept orders based on the “trip” earnings. With the few that I do have that have a tip on it, they have stayed legit lately. But I will never take one that has a really huge tip and very low trip earnings. I’m afraid of it being bait. Spark pay has really dropped this year, which requires even more strategic thinking when accepting orders.

    Besides being 30-60 mins late, there is really nothing a driver can do so outrageous to merit a full tip removal, to curb abuse of tip bating, the customer should only be aloud to remove a percentage of an initial upfront tip, say 50%. This would eliminate high tip offers they know they plan to remove, and could always tip in person if they don’t agree to the 50% take back. Some would say this would cause less tipping all around, but I feel it would just make the market honest, and stop bating.

    Sooo, at first, they didn't even show you that you even had a tip, but when drivers started complaining than they started showing the tips but would turn around and say, oh, the customer may or may not take their tips away???? okay, somebody is keeping these tips, and it don't sound like it's the customers!!! I have been a driver for about 6 months and it just don't add up to me. Why is it up to Walmart Spark whether I get my tips or not? Shouldn't that be up to the customers? And if it's a possibility that the customer may just take the tip back for the hell of it, shouldn't Walmart stop this policy for the sake of their drivers? No! because I believe it's Walmart Spark that is keeping some of our tips. Just think about it.

    • @themidwestexpress
      @themidwestexpress  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't want to comment about things I cannot prove. Tip transparency isn't as bad with Walmart in my opinion. I believe that many customers pull the tip or never tip at all in some markets. In my market, certain customers are not going to tip. Lots of low income and college people are using the Walmart ➕️ program which = no or low tip.

    • @BG-br5xf
      @BG-br5xf 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@themidwestexpress That's my point. They know we can't prove it. But don't you think they should prove to us drivers that they are not keeping some of our tips by having the customers show prove that they have either confirmed their tips, or show why they took them away? They can at least do that, then we won't be so suspicious of Walmart spark!!

    • @themidwestexpress
      @themidwestexpress  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      B G, I see your point. However, some people are not right. I remember seeing a video of a doordash driver pounding on a customers door who had her drive 10 miles with no tip. That lady was unhinged..... If Walmart showed us the tip baiting persons info.🤣 It would only be a matter of time before a driver would try to settle the score. 🥺☠️😰 Just protecting their interests of liability. But I do see your perspective and appreciate your input and participation here. 😀

    Network all the names and addresses! We’re gonna have to come together to put a stop to this shit! Un-Batch the customers that don’t tip or initiate a return they’re not tipping anyway, so you’re not losing money! 😉

    Thank you great positive tips. Yeah we do this praying that the tips don’t get pulled. It is still happening every day. No control over this . It is what it is. I tell you Walmart plus is cheap. For &99 a year and free delivery and no markups at lesst be a good citizen and tip the driver l. These piece of shit sorry I felt they are privileged that they don’t need or feel like tipping for a service. I want to ask you if you call to pick up food for yourself do you tip them? There is a nap restaurant at my area during the pandemic when everything is close for in door dining and after they resume in door dining the owner will ask me to tip 15% of every order for pickup. She has no shame to ask me to tip. I felt obligated to tip 15%. I see people pissed off-that they are not being served why I had to tip so much. If I had my way I want to tip $5. So I just want to get your opinion yes delivery should be tipped. Should pickup also be forced to tip? Thanks have a great weekend.

    09:04 the food stamps card got loaded via the tax payers. that is how they pay... I used to be a cashier at walmart. also EBT won't let you pay a cash tip.....EBT is food items only....

      EBT doesn’t pay for delivery. So they can tip using the pay method they used for the delivery service itself, or with non food items.
      In short, they can tip
