Thanks for sharing the thoughtful history on Milltown United Brethren in Christ. I knew there were some churches in Kansas, but this was a surprise! The Milltown church was part of the Old Constitution adherents led by Bishop Milton Wright of the famous "Wright Brothers". The local history is especially fascinating as this Bishop actually visited this church! The wooden, rural church with its old bell is an iconic symbol of many rural UB churches across our country. According to the interview the church must be about 167 years of age! It would be interesting to know more about some of the local leaders and community members that worshiped here. I knew a few people in Iowa from the United Brethren church in Strawberry Point and Mcquire Bend near Lehigh and Dayton. Several rural churches may also be found in Northwestern Illinois. St Joseph, Missouri had a UB church years ago. The church headquarters are still in Huntington, Indiana as they were back in 1889. Huntington Christian University was founded in 1897 and still is a United Brethren in Christ institution for higher learning. You should create another Milltown UB History Part II Celebrations - on You Tube. Host a Community Homecoming Celebration and Supper on the Grounds! This was the best! A great video story - from the American Prairie
