Fun Fact: The 'Over Moulding' you were saying about is called Flashing, it happens from Old/Low quality injection moulding tools where they don't close properly and plastic seeps out. Happens all the time with scale modelling kits!
Mostly yes, but also from incorrect set up. Not enough closing force or too high injection pressure also causes it.

The worst part about these mods is closing the glass and display together. You always have dust trapped inside.

That's a damn good friendship you've got. Always enjoy seeing the modding videos, even if it's of something you've done before.
One thing I've always been curious of though. There's a mod that allows I believe a DSi screen to be installed into a GBA since the DSi screen is similar to an AGS 101 screen in nature. There's a kit for it on sale on funnyplaying.
One thing that I've been curious about is if it would be possible to get one of those kits working in a GBA SP to replace an AGS 001 screen. I'm a bit too nostalgic about that older style appearance to use an IPS screen. Might make an interesting video if it ends up being semi involved :P

Personally I don't use GB Pockets anymore for moddings because the 2x AAA batteries have a very poor battery runtime with a big IPS screen. Instead I only use the GB Color for mods, it's better in every aspect as the GB pocket and the new IPS mods have the same display size.

I looked at buying Gameboy Color to fix so I could play Tetris on it but they are so pricy. It was almost more affordable to buy one with the screen upgrade already done.
Elliot, I have a particular weakness for the Pocket Classic design. Those are lovely.

The dmg style pocket is my favorite version, but the aftermarket shells and lenses get the text color so wrong
I’m glad you used the original silicones. I don’t care what anyone says all the company’s that remake them they just don’t feel like the Nintendo ones. The new ones are was to stiff that I’ve tried from a few company’s.

I have a gameboy pocket with a burnt screen that I need to replace but it doesn’t have the led power light as well. I can not find a place that sells lenses that accommodate that. Any suggestions?

i don’t think i’ll do anything like this anytime soon but one day i hope to make my dream gameboy advance, i just don’t have the money or the equipment to do any right now and i’m loving my miyoo mini but one day i’m just gonna drop a couple hundred bucks on everything i need and fully deck out a gba
