Normally I play FF always in Japanese dub or English... but I have to say German and French versions feel really good this time. Big improvement over XV
French Clive's voice is smokey. 👀 I might replay the game in FR after the first EN playthrough. I don't speak a word of it, but I've had FR dub in FFXIV since ARR, so might as well continue the tradition. XD
Ahah i’m fr and usually play in VO/VA but i did 14 in fr and no regret especially when i heard Feo Ul VA compared to Fr lmao, still ain’t sure if im gonna play this one in Va or Fr tho but i kinda like the Va more so far

Clive’s voice is perfect in German for me. The angry but still proud intonation has a certain grace to it that I couldn’t feel in any other version

bro the german voice actor for clive was going so hard this might be an unpopular opinion but the japanese voices might be my least favorite out of these four
Yes, after I´ve finished the game for a few days now I must say that Vincent and the rest of the german VA´s did an outstanding Job on this one. Also having Torsten Michaelis as the voice of Elwin Rosfield of all people was a nice touch.
I dunno on which language I should play… English, Japanese and German sounds really awesome, but the last scene with ifrit… Japanese killed everything, and the Japanese voice actors are usually very nice, if they’re evil
Obwohl ich alle wirklich gelungen finde, ist Vincent's dub echt am besten. Sehr selten, ich mag die deutschen dubs in der Regel nicht. Kanns kaum erwarten!
The first time i play a final fantasy game in english. Normally i play japanese (full text and voices). And also normally i thought japanese versions are better. Not this time. English (specifically and maybe it is because of the fact that it is British English) is better this time. I might use japanese in my second play. To those who might be inclined to identify and shame “weeaboo”, for your information my Japanese language level is N1. I lived in the UK during my formative years (hence my bias to british english) and took french in university (that left german as the only language i don’t understand in this video).
I thought that too. The English voices kinda bummed me out and made me depressed. lol. They were good in English too, but just the tone of it, I guess wasn't my favorite except maybe Joshua's voice. All the other languages made me feel more into it. But that's my opinion.
As someone who is accustomed to both cultures, Japanese game companies should really stick to animating with Japanese VA's. I see the appeal of basing it off English for this iteration and it looks like they did put effort into make it seem more natural than their usual awkward attempts but after a few hours into the game, I cannot not notice the overall subtle Japanese demeanour and sentiment when it comes to things like body movement, line delivery and scripting. The persistence in trying to constantly fuse the two most juxtaposing customs on this planet to come up with a natural product is really commendable at the very least.
im kinda sad because good french dub is kinda rare in games but there is something about the english cast and their delivery that compels me to play the game in english
@@j-plarouche9959 Je suis très d'accord. Autant pour les films et films d'animation on est très bons. I don’t say this a lot, but the English VO just fits perfectly. The fact that they took the time to have the script translated from Japanese to English before recording, then back to Japanese to make it more accurate really shows the attention to detail that Yoshi P is taking with this game. This is a first, but my first playthrough will be in English, just because the actors are so good!

The german voices are amazing! Especially at the last scene with Ifrit, german is the best there imo. The english pronunciation for "Ifrit" doesn't really fit the loud and aggressive voice and atmosphere there, meanwhile "IFURITO" in JP and the german pronunciation just fit more, imo.
