    Both ahead of their time trying to explain lesbianism to the general public. Now marriage is legal in 2019. She was right it is part of the norm today and not a big deal. I hope she is still alive to see the changes.

      I wouldn't say its part of the norm today because they're many countries than don't view it normal in their societies. i don't believe it will ever be the norm in the entire world bc heterosexual marriages have always been the ones who have constructed society. They have created families that keep the economy rolling. Heterosexual relationships in reality are the normal ones and best for society.
      But each society is different so to each their own.

    The sort of "gender role" idea of one being a "house wife" and one working to "make the bacon" is interesting. I would like to think that modern relationships have wiped this idea out. Or is this just the particular story told at this particular time?

    Thank goodness for the ABC. Engaging then and still now with the diversity of Australian society in a respectful manner.

    it was interesting that they still followed, emulated, the hetero couple dynamic of the time. housewife and one who goes to work. one wears flowery dresses, other has pants, short hair. i dont know, to me it feels like a play, act, theater, copying what others do and other´s norms, rather than your own. 0:15 "lesbians in most cases can be _ordinary like everyone else_ " hurray..... 0:46 "and had five children.. " i wonder if she just wanted someone to support her, is she ordinary in that way, too.. the other woman didnt comment on supporting her five kids from previous relationship.

      There's a documentary from "this day tonight" in 1971 featuring male homosexuals. I can't upload it but you can search it here on TH-cam.

    Strange how the only way to express their anti-masculinity is by dressing masculine and by trying to imitate the best of stereotyped masculine behavior. Play-acting.

    • @lee_1292
      @lee_1292 4 ปีที่แล้ว +45

      How are lesbians anti-masculine? Do you believe the existence of a loving, sexual relationship between two women to be an attack on masculinity itself? If so, that’s rather stupid, don’t you think?

    • @whatever8918
      @whatever8918 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      why would you imitate something that you're against? isn't imitation the sincerest form of flattery?

      It's more than that dummy.
      Masculinity and femininity is all energy not a specific gender.

      @@ambramproductions7956 Do you get off calling people dummy (something that hasn't been done for centuries actually) from behind your CRT? :-D You're off your freaking cloud, Clown., So... let's get this down with the Barcode Clown here... Masculinity and femininity is all "energy." Whatever that means. We wonder how many joules of work this non-gender-specific glowing aura will freakishly produce? Will the male take the lead? Or would that be anti-the-clown code?
