Great job Sadel! You displayed a couple tests proving the same result. Nice example of zeroing in on the cause by different testing procedures. Thanks for taking us along and the education!
Man awesome data collecting It’s so easy to get in the back of your mind what the fault should be but then you see what you weren’t expecting( like good ignition) and dont believe it. I can appreciate your ability to follow the data and move to the next test Great job
Monitoring the frp signal to catch suspect injectors works on GDI and CRDI engines. It's something i use on a regular basis. However, there are vehicles out there on which this does not work anymore, some GM GDI vehicles use a SENT protocol frp sensor & i have also come across Mercedes CRDI vehicles equipped with that type of sensor. It just makes it harder to call a faulty injector. Thanks, Sadel.
Excellent diag Sadel!A lot of information like always! With this diagnosis you are making us stronger! Now I have to figure out how to customize the pressure sensor with Pico to use it as a diagnostic tool. Thank you for sharing and believe it or not with your videos I lost my fear with European vehicle.
Hi There, very insightful video. Quick question regarding n20 combustion misfires that only happen when the engine goes closed loop on the initial start up in the morning. I'll clear the codes and I won't get them again for the rest of the day. Any ideas on what could be causing the misfires?...thanks for your help.
@@DTEAuto I do have a request to make, if you get a chance can you make video on exhaust and intake pulses how to determine a misfire by reading the pulses.
Hey, I have quite a few videos with this subject, if you look at my channel's playlist section, I have one list that's related to misfire diags. Additionally, I just created a playlist that is related to engine pressure waveform and pulses. That new playlist has a lot of jam-packed info in those videos. Feel free to binge watch them and hope they are helpful.
That space is called the Burn Line of the actual spark duration. Did the new injectors need coding? This was another awesome case study with pinpoint accuracy via scope usage, thanks so much
Please include this info in future videos, as it is a step in the full job, a DIYer going to follow your video and they will not know to code the new injectors, at least give the info, not asking you to show the coding procedure, much appreciated@@DTEAuto
Great diag! What was the final fix for the car? All new injectors? Did you measure the ON time for injectors because bmw might have different values for different cyllinders.
Yes the vehicle received 4 new injectors. I did not measure the on time, These injectors do need "programing" to the dme, there's a number stamped on them that determines the flow and you have to write that into the dme to make sure it can control the duty correctly. Thank you for watching
I didn't have to zoom in that far at all, from my experience you can get a good signal to look at from the Bosch rail sensors, but either way it's worth a shot to get used to seeing it on a known good
Absolutely incredible the way you seek out , dissect and determine the exact cause of the problems. Thank you for sharing this valuable information
Glad you enjoyed it!
Superb job of explaining your scope process, Sadel!
Yeah I agree! One of the best Diag techs on TH-cam! I learn so much from his channel!
Thanks as always Dave!

Yes I have only run into one of these type of sensors (oil psi on a BMW) and I definitely was surprised about it

Thank you Sadel. I would use the custom probe a lot, any chance you can share the setup for the probe?
The voltage scaling per psi is 0.5V=0PSi up to 4.5V=3626PSi
hey man, so what’s the fix? i literally have the EXACT SAME issue with mine 2013 528i pls answer idk what to do
injectors
So how far zoomed in are you to see the fuel rail pressure voltage drop like that? Might try this on a Ford escape that’s gdi
I didn't have to zoom in that far at all, from my experience you can get a good signal to look at from the Bosch rail sensors, but either way it's worth a shot to get used to seeing it on a known good
It’s fuel rail pressure voltage? I don’t have a transducer yet @@DTEAuto
yes, its the rail pressure sensor signal line that I tapped into in order to see the pulses.
So what was I don’t understand
2 bad fuel injectors, I ended up replacing all 4, problem gone
Hola, cuantas millas tenía el vehículo ? Tengo el mismo problema en un BMW x3 f25 28i con 25.000 millas. Gracias !
