That squirting DOT-4 all over gave me anxiety lol. Wear helmet mate, I had a crash during short test drive like this. You never know.

I can’t get mine to bleed correctly. I have a 96 and an 01. Have the manual and did it by the book but could barely get any play out of it. Did reverse bleed (finding a syringe was difficult) and normal bleed but still just barely making a difference. I paid 300$ for the 01 thinking it was gonna be a parts bike for my 96 but ended up being in better condition than mine, so I’m not terribly disappointed but I do wanna ride asap lol

It can take a while to bleed. If you scroll through some of the comments on my full clutch replacement the video after this one) you can see where I talk about the little hole in the reservoir. Be sure that is letting all the fluid return to the reservoir. I had to do it several times until I got fluid there.

@@pilgrimsgarage fun fact, if you didn’t happen to know already, a while back I got stranded on my 96 from the clutch having low fluid (early stage of owning it after it sat almost 10yrs in Alaska last tagged 2012 with only 4250 miles for 450$) but long story short, if you’re in a pinch, you can actually reverse bleed that bike with by pressing in the slave cylinder piston and compress the master and then tighten the slave back onto the clutch lol I never heard of anyone doing it before but it worked exceptionally well but I ended up getting it about 75% like 20 mins ago just doing it by the book. But I appreciate you and all the information you share! And happy holidays as well

@@jrattackk that’s good advice. I’ve reverse bled clutch and brake systems on motorcycles and four wheelers but I use the cow syringe…it works really well

Guy I gotta tell you without any doubt the compensating hole is blocked in the master cylinder! With the cap off pulling the lever in the fluid should SHOOT IN THE AIR out of the comp hole. That is why the clutch is slipping! Its not releasing all the way because the comp hole is blocked!

That was the problem for sure. Unfortunately, they had ridden it so much that it fried the clutch. That’s a good idea, shooting air into it. I’m going to pin your comment. Thanks a bunch!

I just bought one of these bikes used SAME PROBLEM but I think I caught it in time. It would slip every time shifting into second gear. I opened the master cylinder and of course the comp hole was partially blocked. I think that it was open just a tad saved the clutch pkus the dood only drove it a few 100 miles in this condition. Seems these Suzukis are prone to this condition. Actually what happens is the lining of the brake hose breaks down and contaminates the fluid. One more tid bit, if you're having trouble bleeding the system try cracking the banjo bolts to bleed. sometimes air can get trapped at those joints.@@pilgrimsgarage
