This will be a great long term project; never knew about those forks - I'm on my 4th TH-cam build, but I've never taken on a project like this!

I know where the bags came from. They used to have a ton of cool stuff in that junkyard.

Enjoyed the video. That’s a great project. Looking forward to the rest of the videos. I’m building a 52 panhead here in the uk from swap meet parts so love content like this.
The story about underground John is heavy! Fitting name though..! 😅

Awesome project, hate it that your frames missing the sidecar loops though. You’ve definitely come up with some nice finds for it. The 47 speedo is one of the few things I couldn’t find for a reasonable price, I ended up with a 1950 date code speedo for mine and used an old Beck lens and number sweep plate to hide it. Also had to replace my sidecar loop forgings and repair plenty of other butchery. My whole build started with a set of bare large port head castings and an early RL springer my buddy had saved for years. Currently lacing up the front wheel when I ran across your video.
Good luck on the project and thanks for sharing it with us. 👍

I have that exact same fucking couch in my garage (not comfy to nap on). Wish it was a pile of knucklehead parts though.

That front end has a cool freakin story! How does it measure out compared to a stock length springer of the day?

@@CamsMachine that's what I thought but have seen a few pics of a couple with them, obviously some one a long time ago put it on, because they were definitely not new builds
