    Great feedback. Is the base module required? If not, what's its purpose.

      Hi Barry. Thanks for the comment.
      Yes, to utilize the RTK attachment out in the field, you would need to use the D-RTK-2 Base Station.
      Currently working on a video about exactly this. So keep that radar on.

    If I'm using the RTK module for inspections, will it help with the stitching together of the images captured, once in post production generating a report? I.E. Aerial roof inspection, etc.

    U got it wrong, rtk is to have the precise postion tag on the photo and not so it flies precise.

    I'm planning to use Mavic 3 enterprise for commercial and private sector roof inspection, rarely for mapping and 3D modeling for marketing purposes. Do I require to upgrade Mavic 3T with RTK module?

    • @stacksmedia3497
      @stacksmedia3497 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you just use it for what you stated...then no the RTK isn't needed, a Mavic 2 zoom would do just fine or the Mavic 3 with smart controller for zoom as well.

    • @DroneNerds

      Hi Vitjok007.
      Thanks for the comment.
      Well, I think there is an exact fit out of the three options in the Mavic 3 Enterprise serious. To really hone in on the right solution for your organization, shoot us an email at experts@dronenerds.com and one of our drone experts can dive into the details.
      Would you need thermal capabilities?
      If not, the M3E would be a powerful roof inspection solution with the option to add in attachments overtime.

    It’s a great drone when it works how it’s supposed to…
    Sometimes it doesn’t start taking pictures at all, I’ve had to fly stuff over again a few times now.
    As far as the rtk, it’s contemptible, can be a pain to get working sometimes.

      Hi Jules. Thanks for the comment.
      Yes, it sure is a wonderful drone. Real-time kinematics can be somewhat of a mystic art when initially setting up. However, when up and running, it provides such powerful survey grade data.
      We are working on some new videos on exactly this, so stay tuned!

    Hi Drone Nerds,
    I hope you guys can give me some feedback. I just bought the DJI mavic 3 classic and I am looking to create some-what accurate orthomosaics with this. I know it is not the enterprise but I do have GPS/RTK trimble equipment that I can use to place GCP's for the mapping. If I had the funds for it, I would rather just get the Enterprise to maximize accuracy. My question I guess is: is it plausible to be able to map with the DJI classic 3 using GPS equipment on the side? I hope to hear back!

    The DJI website suggests (I say that because I'm not entirely sure) that the RTK module will benefit the M3E, M3T and M3M with cm grade accuracy for AIRCRAFT Positioning. But if you look in their M3E FAQ, there is a question under Aircraft that suggests the only camera amongst all three aircraft that get RTK accuracy is the M3E Wide. I don't doubt they'd all benefit from the RTK as far as positioning. But it sure looks like the only survey-grade images being taken will be the M3E on the wide camera only. Every other combination will need GCPs.
    Again...I'm no pro at this. I've just been reading a lot because I'm interested in buying one and that's how I understand what I've been reading. Please do correct me (and post where I should be looking) if you have more info.

    • @DethpickleDave

      Also from the M3E FAQ on DJI's site: "When DJI Mavic 3E is equipped with the RTK module, it supports precision surveying. Equipping DJI Mavic 3T with the RTK module cannot guarantee positioning accuracy."

    • @DroneNerds
      @DroneNerds  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi David.
      Thank you for very thorough comment.
      You are quite the Drone Nerd your
      Yes, after speaking with DJI, the only true, survey-grade mapping, RTK-enabled drone of the series, that supports photo telemetry survey-grade imagery is the M3E. However, exactly as you mentioned above, each of the drones in this series benefits from using the RTK attachment for aircraft positioning. It's safe to say the best out of the three for mapping would be the M3E w/ RTK but each one of them benefits dramatically from this attachment.
