My sig cross is great. Recently finished up swapping the barrel to a 8in 8.6 and let me tell you its sweet. This channel has been extremely helpful when it comes to delivering info with no nonsense. Keep up the great work!
Really appreciate that man, I try to get out the info I would want to see. I bet that 8" 8.6BLK is amazing! You mind me asking who did your barrel? Thanks for watching!
@@AlabamaArsenal It is! Shocking how accurate it is out of an 8in barrel. Ryan beck from Base Camp Customs out of PA did the barrel work. He did a great job, everything was perfect.
Since I need one soon, I am eyeing this one and planning a barrel swap to 7 PRC. Proof makes great options for that. I already have a 300 WM Rem 700 that I planned to swap to 7PRC until Sig messed my plans up! Not complaining! I love my Cross in 6.5 CM. The full length ARCA will be great for use on a tripod out west and the ability to use all my match grade 300 WM dies and brass and switch to 7PRC will be awesome.
Thank you very much for this video. These have been scarce since their launch. It definitely has the cool factor looks, but I didn’t want to lay down 2.5k without a performance review. All I could find online about it is how cool it was and how it should perform. Alabama Arsenal knocks it out of the park again.
Really appreciate that man. I know some people would like me to finish reviews quicker but I really try and give the viewer what owning a product would be like, and that takes time. Thank you so much for watching!
Great vid! I love how light most Cross rifles are, I don't have a long-range to shoot. A 16" Cross in 308 still makes tons of sense for me, and I can feed it cheap M80 for fun.
Thanks for the review I love the sig cross and I’m a huge fan of 300 prc. But right now my interest is in 6mm arc I’m hoping sig makes a version of cross trax in 6mm arc
I love the way you think. Sig, please make the Croos in a mini action. A 9” or 10” .300 blackout would be great. (Your presentation was good and useful, as usual).
If you haven’t already, check out the Uintah Precision Bolt Action Upper. Just picked up a Uintah 300blk 10.5 for work and it stacks off the shelf subs in a quarter at 75 yards with an aero lower, PRS, omega 300, hiperfire genesis, sig bdx 2-12 & PVS-30 on it. Action & accuracy feel superior to the off the shelf 300 bolt guns available that only group with supers and it’s about as loud as a paintball gun even with a crappy omega 300 on it.
It’s amazing how stuff like that could happen and then people all of a sudden want the same thing. None of that shit really matters at all. They could’ve killed him with a 556 round what are people going to do then go buy more of the same shit. But I do understand what you’re saying and it’s amazing how that has an effect.
Really love and look forward to all of Alabama Arsenal videos. The magnum cross rifle looks fantastic. I do have some concerns about the bolt action bobble every time they try and chamber around. Otherwise looks great.
One thing consistent in this video is difficulty in bolting the next round. Don't know if that's due to an aftermarket mag or just sloppy action, but it's ugly.
Yeah, I think that has to do more with the ammo. My friend has been reloading 300WM for as long as I can remember, the loads are consistent, very accurate, and also at maximum cartridge length so he can use heavier projectiles and still get maximum case capacity. The magazine definitely doesn't like those longer 300WM, but the rifle sure does! If you use a shorter commercial more standard 300WM there won't be an issue with feeding at all. I also would like to try an MDT magazine with that longer ammo to see if it fixes the problem. Thanks for watching!
This thing is sick. I really want to pick one up, but ive been holding out in hopes that Q starts talk about the Mega Fix release.... i know its not happening any time soon though so i should probably just grab the cross magnum to hold me over lmao
This is a great rifle, and as I'm sure you know it looks like the mega fix is on the back burner as they prepare to launch the boom box. Id get one of these. I'm extremely happy with mine. Thanks for watching!
Love the cross! And the Magnum is going to be my next project. What suppressor do you recommend for it? I saw a couple different ones. Is the Hyperion your favorite still?
I think I like this rifle more than the Sawtooth version. I'm thinking about getting one for long range shooting and Colorado mountain hunts. I would like to get a prefit 20 inch carbon fiber barrel in 7prc. I wonder how much weight you think would be saved going to a 2O inch CF 7 prc barrel?
sig how long did i wait for factory barrels for the cross that never came. ffs 🤦 i loved the original cross, drooled over gen 2 prs, still waited for barrels finally gave up this past fall and sold it. and bought into an MPR BA with the new ARC coup-de-gras short action. would have loved to see a sig cross in WSM or 7mm
That action looks rough. I've tested the Sig Cross in 6.5 cr version and found the Tikka and Christensen much smoother, much better, purchased the Christensen MPR.
Well as a a fellow MPR owner, I think we'll have to agree to disagree. The Tikka does have a nice smooth bolt throw and I would say My crosses do as well. But hey small sample sizes maybe your MPR is amazing. Thanks for watching!
@lazlovandor4770 Looking at a Tikka T3X Tac A1 in .308 or 6.5CM for my first "precision" bolt action rifle. Currently they are going for about $1,800. Anything better in that price range you can think of, or would this be a solid choice for getting into it?
Great vid as always. Is the action as rough as it seems to be in the video? Was considering this in 7 prc but man that action looks rough. Any further insight?
Loving mine and zero issues! Only annoying thing I could find is the stock not having as much retention and has some play when fully folded. Does yours do that or is it just mine?
You boys need to find the old fn spr and try one out. I lucked into the fixed stock heavy 24” version and it outshoots my 6.5prc waypoint..mod70 action 3-4rd flush box..3x15viper
Didn't the Sig Cross have firing problems when they came out? Like you'd get a misfire, then it would fire randomly? Kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Did they correct these isssues?
Not that I’m aware of. I have one of the original Cross rifles from the first batch sent to an sig authorized dealer. Never had an issue, and have never heard about that Thanks for watching!
In theory yes, but here’s the problems. First is the bolt face isn’t correct so you’d need someone to make you a bolt face for a Cross Magnum that is sized for 308. Second, the mags wouldn’t work but you should be able to hand feed without issue. So in reality I would say the answer is no. It’s easier if you have 3 sized bolt guns; one for short action, 308, 65CM, ect. Like the cross. One for long actions or magnums, 300WM, 300PRC, ect. Like the cross magnum. Then one for micros or minis like 556 and 300BLK. Thanks for watching.
@@AlabamaArsenal there is a lot of mags for long action for small cartriges ita common solution. Bolt face is the next step. I agree that best way is have 3 different rifles, looks like only one really multicaliber work platform with quick caliber swap is the barret mrad, but it cost more then 3 rifles.
Its an adapter made by CAT, I think they are currently too busy trying to make silencers to worry about these adapter but at some point I'm sure they'll offer them again. Maybe hit them up and see if they have any, just checked their site and they're not there. Best thread adapters made though, and the only ones I'd trust. Thanks for watching!
@@AlabamaArsenal appreciate the response. You make awesome videos this has been the only thing holding me back from getting a hekate is the fact that it’s direct thread only. I’ll give them a shout. Thanks.
Actually as I understand it, the team that now makes up Q worked at Sig prior to Q starting up. Again, as I under it, they started working on a modern bolt action while at Sig. later they left and started Q, Sig then finished what they started and brought the Cross to market. So in a sense, they were both designed by the same people. Thanks for watching!
