    the Sig Cross rifle combines every desirable aspect that you look for in a precision rifle while and adapting it to be one of the best hunting rifles even designed.
    were talking a weight of 6.5lbs/folding stock/ 60 degree bolt throw/ adjustable comb/vertical/length of pull/ m4 style grip/ oversized trigger/triggerguard (ideal for gloves / AICS magazine compatibility. i dare say there is more reasons.
    At this point having reviewed countless rifles this is one I really do not regret buying
    I the video we were using the Sig Sierra6 BDX 3-18x44 a great optic if you are looking for the perfect hunting combo for this rifle. its about the same size as a large 3-9x scope and you can find yours at

    This trigger is probably personal preference because most people including myself. I’ve had one for a year and a half now and I love that two stage trigger. I absolutely love that two stage trigger and most people enjoy it it’s just personal I think.

    • @acushley1
      @acushley1 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Have you ever shot a rifle with a good two-stage trigger? The amount of creep makes it so you can't adjust the pull weight to what you want, just where it breaks not as bad as at every other weight. The point is that at this price point it should have a good trigger, not matter whether you like one-stage or two-stage triggers.

      I just came across the new Cross Trax in 308. Thing feels incredible. I then asked to check the trigger, phenomenal in my opinion. I then proceeded to beg the shop owner into a 5 month layaway lol.

    Definitely one of the best in folding stocks I've ever handled and is pretty intuitive to every who folds it more than 3 times, one handed operation. The trigger snobbery definitely doesn't matter

    Got one in 6.5 creed, love it. Great back packer gun. Works best with 143 & 147 eldm’s. Same issue with the safety. But it works well. I have also tried the 124 hammers & 145 Barns Match Burners and I also love those.

    Awesome review! I have based most of my purchases off ur advice and reviews. Currently own and love a couple of Tikka’s (CTR in 6.5 creedmoor and varmint 223) and have been strongly considering adding the cross in 308 to the collection. You just made that decision very easy for me. Thanks for all the great content. Keep it up!

    I looked this rifle up after watching this video and this is one of the things I found.
    According to Sig's safety recall of all Cross bolt-action rifles, “consumers should immediately discontinue use of the rifle” because Sig has learned that the rifle can “exhibit a delayed discharge after the trigger is pulled.

    Accuracy is not exactly hard to get. Put a high quality barrel in it and you're good to go. And as a positive for this gun it didn't try to go off out of battery like it did to Nuntnfancy.

    Barrel is too short for me. I just got a Browning X Bolt in 6.5CM with a 26 in barrel. That suits me just fine.

    • @mr.b111
      @mr.b111 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Barrel is sufficient for hunting within reasonable ranges, especially with a suppressor. If you want to precision shoot > 700 m, then a longer barrel makes sense.

    • @CplSkiUSMC
      @CplSkiUSMC 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@mr.b111 I live in Wyoming so the longer shots are common. I don't use a suppressor either, just can't see paying the corrupt government scumbags more money for something so inconsequential as a muffler for your gun. If I want one, I'll just make one and flip them the finger. I just hate to give up velocity, its importance to in-flight and terminal ballistics can't be understated. Some people are happy to use a rifle at short range, and that's just fine... but I like the ability to reach out there and I can use it at short range too if I want or need. It's performance is superior to a short barrel at any distance. And yes, I'll carry the extra weight and length, it doesn't bother me and it never has. But that's me being me.

    I have seen a lot of positive reviews of this rifle, dating back several years. I have been on the fence as to whether or not to buy one as ALL of the reviews have complained about the safety and the smooshy trigger. I am not sure I can endorse the rifle if Sig has gone this many years without making corrections (especially to the safety considering the issue with the P320)

    Aftermarket trigger options; do Timney, Cadex or Triggertech make one for this rifle? 20 MOA rail? Different kind of platform, but wouldn't mind seeing a comparison with another hunting rifle like the Bergara HMR. I've been really debating getting the Sig or building a lightweight hunting rifle using the MDT HNT26 chassis. Would be even lighter and (correct me if I'm wrong) the MDT folding stock is much nicer.

    • @EpikArms
      @EpikArms  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      good catch i didnt mention that. after a breif amount of research there doesnt seem to be any aftermarket options. and oddly enough most people are pleased with the trigger.

    • @EpikArms
      @EpikArms  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yeah it would be interesting to see a lightweight hunting rifle comparison

    • @mrjeffjob
      @mrjeffjob 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That chassis is $1400! Almost the price of the Sig.
      I just bought a Defiance Anti action from Bugholes for $1039 that weighs 20.2 ozs with a 20 MOA rail. Put a Mesa Altitude stock in it that weighs 25 ozs and ran $575. Trigger Tech, BDL metal and a Proof 7 mag barrel. All in it was 6 pounds 4 ounces and under $2900. You could save $400 by going with a Preferred steel prefit barrel so around $2500. So you’re only a few ounces less than the Sig but 40% more money.
      I have the Sig also but considering the costs of building it’s the very best VALUE for dollar gun I have.
      Now here’s another benefit of the Sig. Many barrel makers are now building prefits for it. Proof, Carbon Six, Preferred and Straight Jacket Armory are a few that come to mind. I’m thinking of going with a 6 BR for mine. I think it would make a great “crossover” hunting/ target gun. 🥸🤓

    Debating getting the 6.5 or 308 for 1gun quiver...help!

    • @EpikArms
      @EpikArms  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      .308 has more bullet weight options and considering the heaviest functional hunting round for .308 is 178gr and the heaviest for 6.5 creed is 147 thats a big difference in lead going into the animal, then again if shot placement is on point then it shold be irrelevant. personally id go 6.5 just because it has less recoil. .308 on super lightweight rifles isnt very pleasant

    Between this and the Tikka Tac a1 and the Bergara Comp ?

    • @EpikArms
      @EpikArms  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The tac a1 is a heavy rifle for precision. This one is more specifically designed for hunting or longer range hunting. The tikka is better overall on everything at the cost of a large weight gain. And I have no experience with the bergara comp

    • @yl3064
      @yl3064 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks a lot, I agree with you. Personally I have a Ruger Predator that I love, so accurate and not to bad to carry for hunting, exept the Tract Toric added a lot of weight. my shooting partner is looking for is next rig, The Tac A1 was on top of the list but, for hunting and walkind 1km to the blind its a bit heavy. I think the Sig Cross might be a viable option, or maybe something else, like a Tikka lite or CTR, but this will be his choice. I’m in Canada too and love your channel and when you talk about price and availability its pleasant to see what is going here.

    I don't understand the design on the folding stocks on this and others like seekins. Folds towards the bolt handle, and gets in the way, why they don't design it too fold the opposite way is beyond me. Stupid designs, lefty versions should fold too the right, right hand to the left.

    • @Soederlund
      @Soederlund 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Me on the other hand loves just this function. This as my law enforcement hates all rifles with pistol grips and folding stocks.
      "It makes them dangerous" they claim from their pink clouds.
      This function eliminates ALL that what they say is dangerous about these features. But let me have a good carry rifle in the woods with a comfortable grip.
