That's because the song has lots of layers to it, very little repetition, etc. There was a technical term for it but I have no idea, I'm not a musician but once read about it.
This game for me is magic, i played it when i was eleven years old, for me represents a beautiful time that will never come back, it was awesome to be a youngster in the late 90's and have a playstation at home with a bunch of Rpg's that later were considered timeless classics, i consider myself lucky.
I was 12 years old when this was released. I still remember my mom took me and a friend to Funcoland in the evening and we traded in a bunch of SNES games to get BOF3.
Dude I picked up all my siblings chores for a month for my stepdad to get this game for me at a flea market and it was one of the best choices of my life at that time! Great game, great series and I wish they would’ve kept it going strong throughout the years. Glad to have picked up this gem
After 20 years since I originally beat this game on my first file which I still have, last week I decided to take a leap and start completely over but this time I am accompanied with a prima strategy guide. And I love it when I find things in the game that the strategy guide even missed including the broad sword on top of McNeil's roof of the mansion. Hands down has the best fishing mini game out of any game I've played including Final Fantasy 15 and trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2. The only thing I'm not a fan of anymore is the high encounter rate,
That's the ultimate trial for a battle theme, isn't it. it's gotta be good enough for 1000 battles. And this one nails it. it's the same with other prominent themes, like Final Fantasy VII
It's notable because others in the series had at least two regular themes depending on where you are, but this one of the only ones that bucks that trend... This was for its time what "Rise Or Fall" from Phantasy Star II was in its time, a theme that just didn't quit and impelled you ever forward.
this has to be the best battle game track ever created.... it's been like 20 years from this game and... it has been my alarm clock song as well as my phone call song ever since i learnt how to customize my phone's ringtones lmao
*Child Ryu:* _struggles to unsheathe short sword before pointing the shiny end at the enemy_ *Teepo:* _thrusts sword to the side_ *Rei:* _assumes a diagonal stance and whips out daggers_ *Child Nina:* _whirls while floating before landing and summoning wand_ *Momo:* _stares at enemy before magically summoning bazooka_ *Peco:* _screams dramatically_ *Garr:* _poses rigidly and summons spear with a burst of fire_
I remember when I was a kid this was just "oh, a battle theme." But this is actually a rather unique and interesting theme. It's surprising that I don't have fonder memories of it considering that this game was easily the most formative game I ever played, but it's certainly a good song either way.
@@ShadG Oh, I played most of the way through it again not too too horribly long ago. Could maybe give another go some time, though I have a bunch of games to play and replay. My last playthrough ended right before the desert, because I started trying to grind Ivory Dice in the copy shop and the experience proved so frustrating I dropped the game. I once got to the final boss and had my playthrough ended by a freeze glitch. It sucked lol.
To be clear, it *is* a game I like and Ryu's shapeshifting was a fantastic thing (and the thing that affected me most from the game). It's just not my favorite game despite being probably the most important I ever played.
I can understand why. At the beginning, both songs use interchangeably similar progressions (i, III, iv in this song and i, III, VII in SWAT Kats), and the beginning melody does parallel at times.
To be young again and to play this game for the first time. Its the only RPG I've ever played and ever liked - it was so immersive and full of variety. I even managed to stalemate Balio and Sunder as well as Garr I loved it that much.
Alternatively, "Ei~" Sort of a cry displaying effort I believe. Also love the cry for Quake, "Gadabureda". Took me forever to get that name just right (or find the thread on Dragon-Tear or smth).
@alexzkaiser agreed, just recreating this game itself would give capcom some serious income, all they would need to do is recreate graphics, same story, same battle system, a few extra's wouldnt hurt, extra dungeons bosses, alt endings, stuff like that, would give it an even bigger boost!
@Skydree I always heard "EETHALAKEEEE!" I don't even remember Teepo because he was only there for the first hour. Gonna stick my BoF3 disc in my ps2 and hope this works
Gringo:"agente tem que fazer um personagem brasileiro para o jogo Outro gringo: "A põe um bicho verde que dá cambalhota, grita, e choque" O brasil é sempre lembrado como uma selva para eles 😂😂😂
Same thing happened with Sonic Heroes - When Knuckles attacks it sounds like he's saying "SHIT ROCK HEEEEEEUUUUUUH" and my dad was like "WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING???" We both just stared blankly and kept playing. XD
When you reach 1000-1500 battles and you don't get tired of the song, you know it's a gem.
That's because the song has lots of layers to it, very little repetition, etc.

Ryu uses "Nostalgia"... CRITICAL HIT!!!
Cringe
Máster piece childhood track!.
"BOOAN BUREEIKU"

Awesome game. Incredible music. Amazing characters and gameplay!!!
Can't add a general comment so piggy backing yours

Little Teepo has the cutest battle voice ever and no one can change my mind.
AY
Henomu!
All three haha bley!
It still surprises me that Teepo is actually a boy lol, i always think that Tee was Ryu's love interest till i realize they were bros before hoes
The golden era of RPG's.
Momo in almost every skill: EEEEEEEYYYY
Gadabureda
I can still hear her voice like it was yesterday.
😂😂😂😂
Criminally underrated game.
throughout the game, i NEVER EVER got tired of this song lmbo

this honestly makes you pumped regardless of how many times you listen to it

I can't hear this music without also hearing Ryus battle scream right before his brood gene transformations.

Super catchy and the way it suppose to be for jrpg's. Please dont change
Capcom sitting on this masterpiece RE-RELEASE THIS SHIT ALREADY.

triste por que a Capcom esqueceu uma franquia tão maravilhosa como está...
Capcom trata muito mal suas próprias franquias...
@@victormatavercosa Capcom is Crapcom nowadays. Capcom maked awesome games in 90's and in the start of 2000's.
*child ryu's tiny voice: Haaa!
One of the best Battle songs, Breath of Fire series has some of the most remembered tunes.
20 years already, Jesus
darkHevn where does the time go? Fuck I feel old!
You ain't lyin, amazing times
same feel
Ahh the Kaida style! This sounds like it can be a Battle Network style music.
true!
2019 here , 22 years ago... Holy Shit ! This battle theme is always good.
This crushed a lot of FF games but flew under the radar
2022 and still impressive
2023, STILL impressive.
2024, and still impressive
Man that title screen though.
"Title screen design is my passion" 90's style lmao
I was here 7 years ago and I'm visiting again now, to hear one of the best fight tunes ever, never boring
One of the first RPG's I ever played. Still one of my favorites games ever. So amazing!
This battle theme SLAPS
I played this game when I was 13 or 14. I'm now 30. It's so nostalgic but also makes me sad to see how life turned out since.
I played it in high school in the late 90s. I'm 41 now. Still one of the best games I've ever played
This track gets you through college.
YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
Listen to that bass chug. Mm!!
and that synth piano when it hits it's solo........mmm, good night, sir.
That keyboard solo is insane. Song goes hard!
I love when Rei attacks.
Sounds like he's saying 'Juliet"
CREEEEEEI
Oh the long time to learn command and steal our first waistcloth's.
So many close battles each new area was a treat ^^
LAST RESSORT!
BERSERK!
that bass line is infectious
my very first RPG.... pure epicness
This is still the absolute best game ever made
That feeling when Rei first stike the shit out of these knifes as a big brother to Ryu!! Oooo good old times...
Urya!
I remember starting a game and rei landing a crit right at the start CRYT I was like oh shit that's my boy.
@@AugusleebertyTeenager Rei is the coolest older brother in any jrpg ever
Cannot be better.......welcome in 90s folks! Where true rpgs were living on..........like Breath of fucking Fire!
still one of the very best fighting themes
BOF III will soon be released as a PSN classic.
REJOICE
thanks that shit was a classic
Only on Vita it seems...
Don't forget the PSP (although ya had to purchased via PC & then download it seems as is...)
WTF Crapcom... I considered selling my PSP, but maybe not...
I love this type of music reminds me of the good old times of metal slug.
Breath of Fire wouldn't be so awesome without this battletheme. Most epic fight song EVAR!
Best time of my life back then
This is The best theme after everyday battle and life's a beach

Give it another playthru sometime! It's a fun time if you can take your time.

I always wanted to rename Teepo Riley cause he goes "NEE-GA!!"

The most heard battle song throughout the whole game! Definitely a classic!
My favorite breath of fire battle theme
I love that keyboard
Really good theme, I remember learning this on the piano about 8 or 9 years ago.
That scram young Ryu does when he does a critical attack. Aww the memories...
Equip him Deadly Blade & trains him under Hachio (Wyndia's Cook) for raising a chance.
Capcom's soundteam was on fire back then! Those were the days!
all those years of playing this makes you think of those days of epic old school games
Best Battle Theme I've ever heard.
if my childhood had a battle theme, this would be it
Ive never played nor seen a second of this game, but this is pretty epic.
One of my Top 10 Video Game OST!!!
Oh damn that roxs^^ Rei: Attack! "Juddee!" XD
Whelp
Baby ryu: AHHHH!
Nina: *Glitter sounds* HAI
Momo and Peco were always my favorite team. ^-^
MoMo: AYYYYYYYY!!!!

Damn you beat me to it lol haha
And always missing her shots
*gently slashes knife up and down while looking away* - Critical Hit!
Capcom has some amazing forgotten games
Lacks the sound of Momo missing.
"HEY!"
So much better than the Chrono Cross battle music!
ITADAKI!
Whenever I hear this tune, I cam hear Teepo Rei and Ryu screaming when they critically hit. Whoaaaaa! :--) Itadaki!
i miss that game ..!!!2019..!!!
ITADAKI~
Nostalgia...

Reminds me so much of Yu Yu Hakasho's 1st ending theme!
This track makes a great ringtone.
Best fucking battletheme ever.
Back in the day I wanted to buy myself a Playstation just for the game.
love this song.I got this track on my cellphone xD
from spain
Maaaaan! I think I'm going to start another game! Panic, your little avatar is awesome, haha!
one of my favorite rpg games for sure!!! ^s^
@Skydree I always heard "EETHALAKEEEE!" I don't even remember Teepo because he was only there for the first hour. Gonna stick my BoF3 disc in my ps2 and hope this works
Nina: "Gore Gori!" Gregory? lol...never knew what she was saying.
"Gureigoru" (It derives from Glacier) so something like "Glagol", haha.
Breath of Fire 3 got #3 for my top 25 ps1 games.
Heck yeah!
Time for a normal battle!

hell yea love this game its my favorite game of all time other than final fantasy 7
I named my cat Teepo because of this game. I left the same comment years ago. : )
Not gonna lie, this song just kick ass all around
I just heard adult Ryu's transformation scream go off in my head.
Little pretty Ryu vs green eyegoo 😀
I would love it if CAPCOM and SUDA51 worked together again.
Same thing happened with Sonic Heroes - When Knuckles attacks it sounds like he's saying "SHIT ROCK HEEEEEEUUUUUUH" and my dad was like "WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING???" We both just stared blankly and kept playing. XD
HAAAAAAAAH!!
RAAAAAIIIIII!!
YAAAHH!!
I love this game.
Also, do I just have good luck, or does Rei have a higher crit rate?
My second favorite BOF, after 2
Sounds wierd not having the sounds of me selecting which attack to use :D
hell yea you gotta love it
such an epic song
every time i hear it, it sounds better
Does it remind anyone else of rick wakeman's music?
Plenty of composers of the 90's and early 00's were inspired by prog rock after all.
Aaaah, you're right! I think it's something like "Eeeeeyaaaaaaii~" x)
