- On one side of the meme speedrunning spectrum we have All Signs, which is basically no RNG at all. Of course I had to re-visit the most RNG heavy meme speedrun there is, which is All Coins!

IMPOSSIBLE COIN IN THI:
For the unfamiliar, there is a "impossible coin" in Tiny, Huge Island. To get it non-TAS it looks like this: • THI Impossible Coin
So when All Coins became a speedrun in SM64, no one knew it was even possible to get this coin, so we grabbed 191 coins in THI.
At this point its a legacy thing, but also it would make All Coins much more annoying to speedrun because its already a very dense RNG category and getting the impossible coin is much harder than you'd think, it is kept out of All Coins to make the category not mega annoying.
I actually used to speedrun All Coins, the most legendary meme speedrun, wayyyyy back in the day (2014) and since I've been back I wanted to revisit it so here it is! It is an ode to Pokemon as well as Ocarina Of Time in the sense that it is super RNG heavy (Pokemon) and because of that, one tiny mistake can ruin the entire run. (Ocarina Of Time)
While I won't grind this category as hard as I did with All Signs, I definitely want to keep speedrunning it occasionally to try to get world record as the current record can be improved by a fair margin.

Well yeah, he said that refering to new players. More than 99% of people would become frustrated and quit before even learning all the strats. Simply is top level player, so if it is RTA viable he can pick it up pretty fast.
Love the Jumpcut that says "Approximately 10 Hours Later" and then the actual time advance is 3 minutes.

I was looking forward to hearing about the 192nd coin in Tiny Huge Island that's completely impossible to obtain as the category exception but you left me hanging, man
It is actually not impossible, th-cam.com/video/dfW8SdzZQds/w-d-xo.html this is done non tas. The reason it isn’t inculcated in the category is that it is so extremely tedious that people universally agreed you didn’t need it, it is definitely possible, it would just make the run less fun so they don’t add it
@@blizzard8958 That's not the coin I was referring to. The actually impossible one is the 5th coin from the 5 coin spawner whose loading coordinates don't allow it to load. It's like the 3rd Goomba in BitS, its loading conditions make it unobtainable even if you turned off collision and used antigrav cheats.

3:06 one could probably kill the goomba anyway if you jumped on it instead (then jump or double jump out of the goomba, kick midair, so you're in the coin hitbox for as long a possible, on its way up).

@@alexgagnon379 Oh yeah, ig so. Toastrider lured the goomba in his run so I just assumed that was the way to go lol. Also, I think the goomba bounce is just more risky, but is definitely the faster route

Wait, did he not submit the 1:14:29 as his most recent PB? On speedrun.com it still says his PB is 1:20:40 which would have him in 6th instead of the 1:14:29 which would have him in 3rd
19:45 +. He spawned a moneybag and they don't spawn again. 20:40 + He realized that and didn't redo the level so the run was invalid for the board.
Edit: Nevermind, I thought you meant the first run and haven't watched the video completely. Not sure why he didn't upload the 1:14.

@@cunkycakes the imp coin in sl is easy to get. But the imp coin in thi takes a long time and is very hard (ask the mods for a better answer)
