What's your rod and reel setup? Or, What good priced combo would you recommend for someone who only goes down 2-3 times a year to fish the jetties and piers?
What retrieval do you use for the spoons and do you let it touch the ocean floor when working it? Just saw your channel and subscribed! I've been really trying to get the spoonin' down and havn't had much luck with my 2 oz. Any tips would help out alot!
It all depends on where your throwing the spoon. If there's nothing to get snagged on ill let it sink and drag it off the bottom a couple of times but if there's places to get snagged I try and keep the spoon somewhere close to the surface. I change my retrieval depending on the situation. If nothing hits on top and your in deep water then let it sink and work it down low. If there's top water action I try and rip it threw the water as fast as possible.
@@MattsFishingAdventures Okay right on, I've been fishing out at packery channel south jetty everyday working a 2 oz spoon, got a steel leader on it, do you think that's scaring the fish away, idk lol, trying to determine reasons for getting skunked everyday. Thanks for the tip, I'm currently watching your other videos and liking them!
I went all the way to the end of the rocks. But it just depends on how currents are moving and what's working in the distance. Just cause the fish bite one day at the end doesn't mean the bait and fish are always way out there. Theres days you can find the fish as close as the second gut.
Nice keepers!! I always catch the monsters out there but always want at least one keeper in the slots but never happens lol good job my friend keep it up 👍
I had to sub after watching your episode!!! Hella nice footage homie!!! As alwayz “wet linez” amigo de pesca!!
Thanks buddy appreciate the compliment.
@@MattsFishingAdventures: you’re welcome homie!
Great action. What color braid is used by most fisherman in the jetties? What color do you use?
Its all a personal choice. I use Yellow but I also use moss green and multicolor as well. It really doesn't matter
@@MattsFishingAdventures thanks.
Have you ever used tactical angler clips or Fastach attached to your spoons?
What about single in-line hooks on your spoons?
What’s your rod and reel set up.? Also conventional reels any good for this? Thanks
I used a 11ft penn prevail rod and a 6500 penn battle 2 with 40lb braid
@@MattsFishingAdventures awesome
Nice job. I’m ready for some offshore kayaking videos.
Not sure how many I'll make this year. I work all summer as a deckhand
Most likely I'll be jetty fishing in the evenings
Cool, I love jetty fishing with all the possibilities. The kings were hot last weekend. Got my first off the rocks.

Penn battle 2 setup as long as its a 5500 with at least 40lb braid you'll be good. Go with a 11ft surf rod for casting range.
New subscriber from S.A., TX. New to saltwater fishing. What is your rod, reel and line setup? Nice video.
I was using a penn battle 11 6000 with 40lb braid and a 80lb leader for my spoon. The rod is a 11ft penn prevail surf rod.
@@MattsFishingAdventures Thanks.

SOLID DAY BRO!!! That water looks good down there. Our water here in Galveston, is a little stained. Tight lines.
