I live and ride in southern California, where summer temps will reach 40° and more. We ride in light color polyester and Motocross armor, the heat is never an issue.
You'd be better off for road riding in them conditions, the Knox urban pro 2, more air flow and slide protection for the pavement, ride safe, Simon B 👍
The absolute coolest body armor for summer motorcycling is made by Bohn Body Armor out of the United States. Their COOL AIR Mesh shirt Is super cool and comes with well ventilated level-two armor. It’s designed to be worn next to the skin or over maybe a T-shirt at the most. It is formfitting, athletically cut and super stretchy. Since it is a base-layer it turns any outer garment you have into protection. About US$200.00
After checking out bike social, I went with Hood jeans, I’ve found them very comfy and even up here in Glasgow with 24C I never felt hot in them 😃 the jacket I’ve worn in the warm weather has been my Oxford Mondial with all vents open, was looking at the Knox stuff recently.
I have some Rokker jeans and absoltely love them. I also have some TCX Blend boots although I prever more protective boots nowadays. Next on my list is either the Lysvic or Marrakesh jacket.
Just moved over to Lysvik jacket (upgraded to AA armour), Roadskin AAA jeans and Richa short boots (totalling less than £500) after wearing a full Halvarssons suit all year. You can tour in the jeans, I use Revit rain pants and jacket if the rains biblical as the Lysvik will wet out eventually. I’ll keep the laminate suits for the wet and cold of a Northumberland Winter.
Hey up silver arrow, I'm guessing it's the Marrakesh you bought, it's a great jacket , possibly the best 😉, thanks for watching and taking the time to drop a comment, much appreciated, ride safe, Simon B 😎
I finally got the Marrakesh. I had a hard time getting it because it was sold out. I also have the John Doe riding shirt. It flows air well also and would recommend it. I use the Klim back armour in the riding shirt because it doesn’t come with back armour. The only issue I have with the Rokker jeans is the knee armour wants to move to the inside of my knees.
D30 ghost is level1 , they have only just brought out level 2, but i have the Rokker jeans and Klim jacket and agree its the best out there, will be upgrading my ghost to level 2 soon
Ok Rokker jeans too but i’m now rethinking my Daytonas and whether they’ll be too hot. My gear will be worth more than my bike soon! Thanks again for a great vid.
I fancied the klim short boots but they are a bit pricey, so went for the Icons www.motolegends.com/motorcycle-boots/short/icon-stormhawk-boots-in-brown.html Great with jeans have a look at them, also £100 cheaper than the klim, ride safe, Simon B 👍
Got up to 67 degrees F the other day. I had on my full jacket/w winter liner still in. OMG. Time to get some summer gear going. Want airbag setup, but until I find a lightweight cooling jacket, no way! I'll die from the heat before I die from the pavement.

Thanks for the reviews! Simon,is the Klim Marakesh longer than your Lysvik jacket?I am thinking about buying one or the other but because I am tall I need the longest one.
Hey up Richard, I would say the Marrakesh would be the longer jacket, not by much, both great jackets, find a place that stocks them and go try them on, ride safe, Simon B 😎
Hi Si, blimey, you do have a load of fancy gear! I'm limited because I'm a severe short arse with 27" inside leg, but still manage my factory lowered 1200GS LC with the help of Daytona M-Star boots. My question is, will the John Doe or Rokker jeans fit over Daytona touring boots? Some single layer jeans are so tight at the bottom. My other problem is getting the armour to fit around the knee properly! Must be great to have legs that touch the ground easily! Lol Good video! 👍
Hey up Don, your the first person I know that has bought the m star boots, bet they are a god send 😉, the gear isn't fancy it's great quality gear that fits 🤭, just tried my road star boots with the rokker and John doe, yes they go over the boots, little fiddley but yes, now get yourself a great pair of pants, as said if your near motolegends they will make sure they fit and do alterations free of charge, ride safe, Simon B 👍
Hi Si, thanks for doing that! Really appreciate it! The M Star boots do help a bit, still got to decide which foot to put down if a bit of a camber though! I'm on Motolegends mailing list, but unfortunately I'm a fair way from Guildford, in fact closer to you in Cumbria, just west of Carlisle on Hadrians Wall! I'll give them a ring though! Thanks again! 👍

Simon, are you sponsored by Motolegends !! lol although I have to admit to agreeing with you on your comments, you're obviously a lot tougher than me, a fully vented jacket at 15c!! Jesus I don't even think about vented until 22-23c, my favourite brand is Halvarssons although I do wear Daytona M-Star boots (10 years old and still going strong with just regular cleaning) teamed up with breathable socks usually made from bamboo your feet breath just fine, Jeans, I'm with Gordi, Hood who happen to be not far away from me (important to help local business too). Whilst you're preaching to the converted with me, most people still wear cotton tee shirts on a hot day, maybe technical clothing just isn't important to some.
Hey up David, wish I was sponsored by #motolegends, no all bought with my own hard earned money 😉, under the mesh at 15 degree I wear the klim zepher which is a wind proof layer, I love the Marrakesh jacket it's so comfortable, I also have a lot of halvarsson that linstrads jacket is halvarsson, same company, yes technical layers is the key, some countries they call the cotton t-shirt the killer 😲, thanks for the comment, ride safe Simon B 👍
I am, yes, our climate seems to be getting warmer and everything I have is catered more to cold and rain. I have kevlar hood jeans, great for the money but it's like dragging chains when walking for a while and gets mighty warm with them on during the warmer months. Great at keeping you dry and warm with windchill riding. My casual jeans also need replacing and thought may as well invest in decent jeans for casual and summer riding around London. Also having a harley doesn't help with heat in the summer 👍 I'm also looking at lysvic and Marrakesh for the summer. I feel I need one between the two. But again if its brutal heat that we had last 2 years, I think Marrakesh will be the winner with richa Atlantic leather urban gloves.
I also have the John doe pants there is a review on them on the channel, they are really comfortable as they are stretch, they don't flow as much air as the rokertech, but are comfier 😁, so I have both 🤭, ride safe, Simon B 👍
