I've got one of these and have to agree that it's a great helmet considering the sub £200 price tag. My only criticism - the anti-fog coating on the inside of the visor started to peel after I'd owned it for less than a week. I had to spend a couple of hours gently removing the coating with metal polish so that I could see through the visor again. Other than that, it's my "go-to" lid.

Your thinking on the lack of a possible Insurance payout due to wearing a so-called illegal helmet according to EU standards is spot on . I'am always thinking along those lines also . Remember Insurance companies are always looking for a reason to not payout also here in the US .

I started collecting a plate from every state that i visited. I can’t remember how I got hold of that one? Basically yes, but Biltwell call it Titanium
Bit late to the party here, but does the visor make a good seal to keep any potential rain out when it is closed? I've seen some retro looking helmets that leave a big gap!
It’s ok, but not great. The Glamster and eliminator have better seals in my opinion

I have a Bullitt by bell. Like you I find it squeezes my head at the front. Used your trick of squashing foam at front with fingers. The bell helmet is terrible noise wise Defoe ear plugs. How does Bissell compare?
I find it more comfortable and quieter.....
I've owned many helmets and the bell bullit is probably the worst one
ive been told that these come up one size to big. so if youre a Large you should order a Mediumm did you find this the case?

Appreciate it's been 2+ years since you reviewed this helmet, but did you find it lifted much at motorway speeds?
I did experience a little bit of lift at speeds over 70mph, nothing horrible though

I've been wanting the Bell Bullit for a while but just never wanted to pay that hefty price tag and this new 2018 helmet is essentially the bell Bullit at HALF the price! Would love to know what you reckon. If it's possible that is. If they can send you one to test ride for 60 miles or so. Please and thank you mate.

Yes! That's what I reckon, that it's exactly the same. I'm contemplating buying it. Amazon has it. All helmets I've worn have been Medium, I reckon this shouldn't be any different. And all the vents close where as with the Bell Bullit only the chin bar closes which isn't good for the winter.

Yes, two sizes, one for XS-S-M and another for L-XL-XL
Hows the size and fitment compared to the Gringo models?
Much the same to be honest, if the Gringo is a good fit, this should be fine too
Jings I would guess this will be a little on the loud side but it does look the part. Be cracking cracking about town and speeds from 60mph and below. Another good video T :)

I may have erm, hit ‘motorway’ speeds during the video 😉 The noise was better than I expected and quieter than my Bullitt

Any updates on winter UK riding? How has it coped with rain and visor mist?
In my opinion it’s too ‘drafty’ for winter riding. There’s no way of shutting off the vents, so for me it’s a summer or fair weather helmet only
@@mancavemoto ive seen someone say they taped up the vents during cold weather but never mentioned visor misting issues
Daniel Winsall blocking the vents is only going to lead to misting, there is no pinlock or similar option.....

Yep if you want to wear it all year round in the UK I wouldn’t recommend it. Warm and dry it’s great but outside that others will perform better

There’s no provision for a pinlock on the Lane splitter

Sadly not, but it is an anti-fog visor. Not had the weather to test it yet though. Deffo a ‘summer’ helmet for here in the UK
what's it like in the rain, some one said to me the visor isn't sealed along the top?

Does the overhang at the top of the visor seal off rain?
Hope so, I’ve not had a chance to ride it in the rain yet. I could pretty much guarantee quite a. Lot would get through the chin vent

Its the ventilation (or lack of) that lets this lid down...
Lack of ventilation? There’s quite a bit, the problem (particularly here in the UK) is not being able to close it!
@@mancavemoto I can definitely vouch for this! Rode out today and yeah it was pretty chilly, the front mouth vents let plenty of air through
But in hot weather it cant be that good

Yes it’s CE rated sonall good here in the UK. I’m not sure on the process re Sharp ratings, ie if the manufacturer can submit it for testing or SHARP just select them. With so many new helmets coming to the market I guess it’s hard for them to keep up. As far as I remember you can ask for a particular helmet to be considered for a test?
