Nice comparison. I just got the Lane Splitter, and was curious.. Is the visor really stiff for you guys? It's pretty hard for me to raise an lower it one handed. It seems like it's too tight, but if I loosen it squeaks and doesn't improve much.
It is a little stiff, but not to the point where it seemed like an issue. It's sort of nice since you don't have to worry about it moving on you if you have it partially opened, but I imagine over a little time it would loosen up. If you do loosen the hardware so it's not as stiff, just make sure there's enough thread-locker on it so it doesn't come apart while riding.
@Herson Cuc fuckin hell the amount of times ive read a comment like this…. its called tape …or a harley sticker…vent problem solved …. i just bought one, i have alarge round head, the xl is the best fit and i tried very helmet in the shop ……. Its a helmet for the right guy and covering those vents is easy as
The lane splitter fits best for my head not making me look like a bobble head. Are there any other helmets that compare in size with the lane splitter?
Lane Splitter allows spray to come in from directly in front of your mouth/nose, but its not too bad. I live in Hawaii and have been caught in some monsoon like rains and the inside of the helmet stays fairly dry, minus the misting
The Simpson is Snell approved and doesn't let wet weather in with side venting. The lane splitter has no option to close airflow in cold weather. Biltwell in my experience has made some awful products across their line (Gringo and custom products) and I wouldn't trust them to make much improvement. Spend the extra $50 for a better made product.
The Lane Splitter is a terrible helmet. Terribly uncomfy for the first weeks until the inner forms to your head. The noise level is unacceptable over 90km/h, rain can come in easily, it is hot as hell in summer and I nearly lost my teeth in winter. Don't even try to were glasses and speakers. It makes the helmet even less comfy. A very bad mistake to have bought this helmet. I gave it a little more than a year to improve and it never did. I strongly advise to stay away from that piece of junk.
Excellent comparaison especially being able to see what they actually look like on. Thank you

having a stiff visor is good. I can ride with my visor cracked at speed with the Biltwell and get extra cooling air inside the helmet with no issues

@@charliemaddock3459 thats how I got through riding in winter, lol. Little bit of black electrical tape worked perfectly to cover the vents
In addition to his ongoing TV series, Homer devised and marketed an excellent helmet.
Simpson helmet literally saved my life
That's why they exist
How is the wind noise in each of these helmets?
so i can attest the Biltwell does decently up till about 75-80 mph, then you're deaf. If you got good ear buds you should be fine tho

Never heard of the bitwel I have the venom but I think the other looks more cool
Can you use a pinlock with either helmet?!
the lane splitter sucks ive had mine for less than a year and the visor rattles like crazy when i ride at speed. I recommend a shoei or aria helmet.
Which one does a better job of keeping the rain out if you get caught in downpour?

You can't close airflow on the simpson either
Extra 50??? More like 200
Thanks for the review appreciate it do you know if either helmets come with different shell sizes ?
Both the Lane Splitter and the Street Bandit have two shell sizes - one covers XS-MD and the other covers LG-2XL.
Ahhh cool thanks a lot
Not a lot of features and high price tag. Must be the name your paying for
