I have a few joyo's in my collection- the worst of them is at least as good as any DOD or Boss. The octave fuzz that may or may not pick up Mexican radio stations depending on the weather? That one's not for sale.. ever....
I think it would be better to put the name "JOYO R-30 TIDAL WAVE" of this preamp in the description column. This will make it easier for you to be found in searches.
Loved my joyo monomyth for two weeks, then rh switch stopped working, rendering useless, sent it back, great sound but we need reliability. As an engineer I would have been able to fix. It's all a balance I suppose.
The XLR and 1/4" out started shrieking on mine. It would work fine then sounded like it was possessed by a techno-banshee and repeat. Never had a problem with the headphone output, really weird. Returned it. The Double Thruster on the other hand has been awesome.
So? Nice basses sound pretty much the same as cheap ones when going through any kind of signal processor. They are just nicer to play and set up correctly out of the box.
@@redato Affordable basses can have preamps too - look at the price of a boost or light overdrive pedal and add it to the price of a budget bass. It might be more expensive, but not by a huge amount. Unless you're buying super shit cheap basses then they all sound decent, the craftmanship/exotic woods that makes the expensive ones mainly make them more desirable because we like shiny things and buy with our eyes.
In the thomann shop it is not listed. I am sure, that in a few days or weeks they will offer it. The pedal you see in the thomann link is a darkglass alpha omega clone the r-26 Monomyth pedal. The Monymyth sometimes shows some problems, makes a ugly Beep. Hands off so long if they don't fix it.

Great for Roc n Roll. Would like to see more diversity from Joyo pedals instead of a stream of Darkglass copies. Give us some exclusives that aren't copies. That said, Joyo does indeed make good, high quality, cheap pedals.
Joyo already offered a sans amp copy. The Dr J sparraow pedal, which is no longer available, but was very solidly built. The longevity of the pedal in this video remains to be seen.
There's the R-22 Narcissus. It's not a "Bass" chorus, but it sounds great on my board. I pretty much have a Joyo only pedal board... Joyo tuner, Scylla, Double Thruster, Narcisuss... just waiting on the Tidal Wave to come to replace the Behringer BDI21 I've been using.
I've used demonfx clones, Joyo, and the same persists across all of them: some type of prominent issue arises eventually. They're def good for budget, but they will break, sometimes just having problems from the start.
Sounds nice, but I'd rather save up and pay for a real Sansamp, Darkglass, etc. that will last forever than pay for a cheap Chinese copy that breaks in 3 months. I've been down that road before, and I learned the hard way: buy right the first time, and you'll never have to buy again.
I used to think like that, until the first expensive pedal I bought was also the first to fail, a EHX POG failed me after a year of very light use. Chinese pedals all the way now. Some have been in my pedalboard for over 7 years and still running strong. The only problem I had with one of them was with the jack coming loose, fixed in 1 minute with a little twist.
I have friends who bought Joyo pedals and they all had problems with them after a short while (like making unusual noises that only go away after you cut the pedal's power, only to come back after a few minutes etc). Cheap comes with a price, i might say :)

Sounds good, although the extreme distortion is probably not something I would ever use.
So here's a good question, I know he mentioned the CAB SIM on the XLR out, but does that include the 1/4" out or is it unaffected in that regard?

I can't speak for this pedal firsthand, but based on experience with the Monomyth I'd say the cab sim is only on the XLR out.

Had a similar experience with mine. Cab sim and ground lift stopped working. Maybe I got a dud but even for $70 on sale I thought it was just ok.
