Ferrari is not just known for V12 but also flat-plane V8, especially the naturally aspirated DOHC 32-valve flat-plane V8 engines that they made.

ferrari got ford in so as fiat would up their price for the company. he had no intention to sell to anyone foreign.

The true story is that was impossible for a little crafter to build hudreds of 4.7 litres cars and selling them in a lot of time as made Ford. There was no market for a 4.7 litres car in that period. Ford GT 40 was not an extrordinary car, but only a 4.7 litres car against a 3.0 litres car. Ford beat Ferari with money.
