What's surprising is that here, when these two ( *BEAUTIFUL* ) pieces are played together, it seems like Kaeya's is the main one, while Diluc's theme of more of the "back beat", complimenting Kaeya's theme. But, in the manga and in Genshin Impact wiki it says that before Kaeya and Diluc's fight, when they were younger, Kaeya always helped Diluc, "acting as his sounding board" and "knew whenever anything was wrong'". This is the opposite of their themes. Isn't that interesting? This supports the theory that Kaeya will be *very* important in the ending of Genshin Impact! :D ( *being a music and lore nerd pays off lol* )
Yesss and based from Mona's hydromancy, Kaeya is "destined for greatness and grandeur" while Diluc is one who is to always stay in the shadows as a sort of vigilante. Their roles have now been reversed and it's 👌 They truly are like light and darkness, both in relation to each other and with their own selves

Mona did say that so i think in the future he MAY get a choice to like save diluc or save himself (example btw) basically my theory is that Kaeya gets a choice to save himself or diluc. They don't despise each other. They grew distant after diluc's father died and kaeya revealed his origins as a spy from khaen'ria to diluc. It destroyed diluc's trust in kaeya and kaeya accepts that. Theyre still brothers at heart though. Kaeya helped diluc to get his vision back after he left it behind when he left the knights. We can even see them hang out together in venti's character quest. They're not enemies or something. They just grew distant and have differing opinions.
They actually did fought once, after Kaeya revealed he was a spy. That's how he got his cryo vision. We don't really know who won the fight, but we know that, around that time, Diluc eventually left Mondstadt.
@@monica5561 no one won the battle. they were both on par with each other, though i would say kaeya is stronger since at the time of the fight, he fought diluc without a vision. it was at the climax of the fight that kaeya finally got his vision & it knocked both of them out so nobody really won the battle

god love it when composers know what theyre doing. kaeyas theme compliments and contradicts dilucs at the same time, and although kaeyas is objectively more interesting, dilucs provides a beautiful base sound that resonates throughout the whole thing. i could go on and on about it. sometimes being a music nerd pays off
there's such an underlying tinge of desperation in both themes. its crazy, and the way they pair so well makes it hard for me to believe that this theme is just meant for some boss instead of actually being kaeyas theme. I genuinely love how these both sound with each other and the feeling the two of them convey. truly amazing how music can work. {warning long post about girl dissecting songs} dilucs theme on its own feels very hearty and epic sure, but its lacking in something crucial that makes the entire piece "correct". around 1:30-2:00 in dilucs theme it gets very whipsy, whatever flute like instrument plays, paired with the violin creates a sad desperate tone for a moment, before the epic hero like theme starts back up. a moment of weakness, a moment of great pain or sorrow. you could definitely call back to diluc and his childhood and the loss of his father, kaeyas betrayal etc for that part of the song, kayeas entire theme sounds icy and painful from the very beginning, but the violin in his starts up immediately. more calculated, even more desperate right off the bat, something mirrored in kaeyas life immediately with him being taken from his home in kahnrei'ah to mondstadt and being abandoned. the same string instruments are used as in dilucs but they're played in a way the creates a feeling of suspense, fear, and calculation (again) in kaeyas. The piano that arrives in kaeyas could represent him growing up with his secret, or him finally living with his new family, it sounds a little hopeful and less meticulous than what was played before hand, his instruments always very sharp, and precise, much like the facade/mask he keeps up, there can be no error or cracks, so the back and forth unstable rhythm of the piano is one of hope that perhaps he can be himself, it crescendos in 1:30 and like dilucs it becomes very intense in those few seconds leading up to 2:00. but unlike dilucs who's theme goes back to normal, kaeyas theme blossoms the most from here onward, so many ups and downs with the music in kaeyas after 2:05 (after the loss of his family and diluc) you feel a little bit of spiralling or maybe perhaps insanity, he's alone and scared. dilucs theme at around the 2:30 mark sounds like what would be in a growing up montage scene intense and hopeful, I could picture it where it cuts between him training multiple times with diluc aging up every time we see him training, this is almost proven to be what it is, because at 2:30 in kaeyas his song stops most instruments except the ticking of a clock, proving that at this point they are aging up, dilucs is with fiery passion and determination, but kaeya is left feeling unsure, almost like he doesn't have any true motivations anymore now that he has no family. its sad and lonely, but by the tail end he slowly finds what he will be passionate about. he too will protect mondstadt. by 3:00 each has found what they are doing and are pursuing it, they are now the age they are in canon, however not much has changed, dilucs is back to protect mondstadt and kaeya has decided to get up the ranks in the knights and also protect the city. I believe in 3:40 wish of both their themes they finally reunite. full of anguish and strong feelings, but while dilucs already begins to fade from him being complete and an actualized version of what he wished to become, (the protector of Mondstadt), kaeyas continues with its brutal and punishing pace because kaeya has figure out nothing, and every day he creates another lie, ontop of a lie. and dilucs theme fades out and stops slowly, but kaeyas is abruptly stopped, because kaeyas story isn't finished, better yet, its still untold. kaeya is still facing what he did all those years ago and he isn't getting away from his life no matter how hard he tries. putting them both together creates this wonderful piece of music, where diluc is the steady beat in the back whilst kaeya is spiralling out of control. diluc is kaeyas last remaining person who is important to him, and these both paired together create how I feel kaeyas story will go once revealed to us, very much kaeya getting help from diluc, who allows him the respite of being open and honest and himself. only then will kaeyas song fade like dilucs.

Hear me out Kaeya: Inverno Diluc: Inferno Kaeya's sounds like a shearing cold winter night in the woods while Diluc's sounds like you're running from a wild fire.. if that makes sense
*spoiler* For some reason I feel like everything about Kaeya and Diluc is leading to them eventually facing each other. I mean they're pretty much polar opposite. Besides their visions, they're personalities are very conflicting. Kaeya being somewhat warm on the outside, but having this shroud of mystery behind him and then Diluc being somewhat cold on the outside, but on the other hand he's very blunt and honest not to mention probably more caring on the inside. Kaeya is from Khaenri'ah, who are now basically the Abyss Order, while Diluc's main goal is to pretty much wipe them all out. It feels almost as a Dante/Vergil relationship. They are closely related, work well together and would probably be unstoppable, however they seem to be on completely opposite ends and are eventually destined to fight.
I wish we could see more lore about these two, specially at the end. They both have such good character development, and I know they worry about each other, despise the hate they seem to have to each other
as a music nerd the two songs fit together astoundingly perfectly almost throughout the entire track (save for a few small things that are barely noticeable) but at around 3:02 and for quite a bit the two themes clash dissonantly (playing notes that sound extremely bad together) and that part never fails to give me chills every time… i can see their fight in the rain as the music climaxes and their brotherhood falls appart
What an ironic video. Both songs are beautiful on their own - just like the strength of the two characters - but together create a wonderful sound that makes you excited for adventures, just like how together the brothers are insanely strong. Sometimes, the music contradicts each other, just like Cryo and Pyro, but in the end it all works out

Kaeya's sounds like a shearing cold winter night in the woods while Diluc's sounds like you're running from a wild fire.. if that makes sense

For some reason I feel like everything about Kaeya and Diluc is leading to them eventually facing each other. I mean they're pretty much polar opposite. Besides their visions, they're personalities are very conflicting. Kaeya being somewhat warm on the outside, but having this shroud of mystery behind him and then Diluc being somewhat cold on the outside, but on the other hand he's very blunt and honest not to mention probably more caring on the inside. Kaeya is from Khaenri'ah, who are now basically the Abyss Order, while Diluc's main goal is to pretty much wipe them all out. It feels almost as a Dante/Vergil relationship. They are closely related, work well together and would probably be unstoppable, however they seem to be on completely opposite ends and are eventually destined to fight.
I wish we could see more lore about these two, specially at the end. They both have such good character development, and I know they worry about each other, despise the hate they seem to have to each other

as a music nerd the two songs fit together astoundingly perfectly almost throughout the entire track (save for a few small things that are barely noticeable) but at around 3:02 and for quite a bit the two themes clash dissonantly (playing notes that sound extremely bad together) and that part never fails to give me chills every time… i can see their fight in the rain as the music climaxes and their brotherhood falls appart

What an ironic video. Both songs are beautiful on their own - just like the strength of the two characters - but together create a wonderful sound that makes you excited for adventures, just like how together the brothers are insanely strong. Sometimes, the music contradicts each other, just like Cryo and Pyro, but in the end it all works out
