Old Cassette Recorder Restoration | PHILIPS EL-2202 year 1971
I bought it in an antique store because I thought it was very beautiful and because it was one of the first cassette tape recorders released on the world market.
ABOUT THE RESTORATION
It didn't need a major restoration, I just lubricated its entire mechanism and changed the drive belts and restored its carrying bag.
All the restorations I do on my channel are still very simple because I don't have much space in my small apartment, but I try to make the video as best as possible.

The swich on the mic is for pause while rec both play. There is a electricity adapter that can be plugin to red mic plug slot.

Nice restoration but can I give you a tip...the sfx loop in the background sure got repetitive after I'd heard it loop for the 20th time, I ended up turning the sound off. Check other channels that get the most views: what people want to hear is not looping sfx or some banal royalty free music loops, they just want to hear the natural sound of your environment while you work.

Except for the belts this is not a restoration. I have done dozens of these Philips cassette players as part of my collection (from the very first model) and you need to replace the germanium transistors and caps. It may still run but the sound is awfull. Give it a try
