Even if it doesn't work, it's a nice museum piece, and a good example for someone to study old electronics.
Sandpaper roll in the toilet was the best. 😂
Lol yea, and pink socks!!! 😂😂😂
That was really great!! Weird but great… Such artistry from deadly components… I think I have used all of them when I was in the military… such memories. Thanks for sharing your experience and master skills!!!
Fantastic job. Really amazing videography 👍
It was going reasonably well until it came time to spray paint the wood. Then, it ruined everything.
I've never seen such clean dirt. The paint slpashes weren't yellowed and came off immediately. So i guess, this is another de-restoration video.
De-restoration?
@@HarmonyOC Yes. The "Restorer" is undoing all his efforts to make a piece of decent condition deliberately look old, used and broken, just to give the impression, he is restoring an old, used and broken piece.
In some videos this leads to toys produced in 2018 looking like spending 25 years in a bucket of mud, that was found in the ruins of a burnt house, after 10 years of being intensily played with by a kid. That is de-restoration. Restoring something artificially aged or worn.
@@leximatic I see
We have a 1940 Philco AM radio. It still works too. I take the tubes out that don't light up to me local General Store which still has a free Tube Tester and a cabinet full off old Vacuum radio tubes.
I remember as a kid my dear ol mum worked for Phillips and they threw awesome Xmas parties mum worked on circuit boards for TVs that particular sterogram we had so to see one fully restored including Artistic licence man I,d have in my house for sure you did a outstanding job

Always good to see deaf mute people who live in their silent world get on with their lives doing positive things
Great job for the radio !! Wonderful !!
Amazing... Bravo
I like design of this radio..very much..
A wood working tip for future wood projects. When gluing somthing, and you want it to not slip around. Use less glue, and then and add a few grains of table salt. The table salt will act like Gravel on ice and prevent the pieces slipping around. And it will be absorved in to the wood after a few seconds. Giving you enough time to clamp everything. Makes life easier.
He probably won't heed your advice, looks like the production value of the video is more important 😂
Great restoration don't get me wrong, but the editing is too fancy for my liking, I prefer the more realistic restoration videos
Wow that is awesome who would of thought a magazine a bullet a hangrenade (pineapple) some old chain retro globe could make such artistic lampshade you truly are a Artisan

Nice double-feature! You are a true craftsman. I am working on a 1950s Silvertone Radio that I think only needs the switch repaired/replaced.
Thanks for showing me this thing. This was just exactly precisely what I was looking for, of course. I just hope that I promise to stay tuned for this educational program. It's very rare for me to ever catch this experience. 👌
That’s the coolest lamp. I’ve ever seen!
Gawd, I miss Radio Shack!
Amazing. That looks real good after renovation. 👍👍
Soap on WOOD?

Philips was such a Great Company, quality products, they were always on the cutting edge on a lot of different products, radio, electronic s, refrigerators, car radio, etc.nice video Thank You.
It still is. Regards from the Netherlands, where Philips comes from.
NOICE
Congratulations on the "yes"!
"Had a good week?"
"Oh well, you know... just the casual sidegrinding a handgrenade, nothing spectacular..."
"......" 😮
5 bucks says that radio doesn't work.
Your on
I literally restore old radios as a hobby and I know that even if that radio works, the old paper capacitors are gonna die.
EXACTLY
@@stuffnobodyaskedfor9910is there a modern equivalent he should have replaced them with.
@@shafismaili1347yes of course you just have to hope that you can find a capacitor that's the same as the paper one but modern
I liked the radio.
Did the radio actually work in the end, presumably all the capacitors and most of the resistors would have needed replacement, were the valves OK?
I bet it didn't.
A while ago, I repaired one of these old Philips radio's which contained multiple tubes.......
Once done..........not a sound to be heard but the illumination was great !!! 😂😂
That is the coolest lamp i ever seen as well so much that i am half tempted to go find a chain and old light and a grenade from local ammo and arms store always support local places verse some other state or country. Re-create this masterpiece make few of them two of them one for each end table resale would not be hard.
Lol just dont take real grenade😂
👍👏🌹
Man, I just loved your work. Really creative and the whole video is cool and shows you're talented and entertaining master.
Radio 📻 works?
Omg❤❤❤❤❤❤
Do you find manuals on the ones you work on?
I thought for a moment you were going to blow the radio up with ther grenade.
Awesome.Relief from routine gun restorations Thanks a lot.
4:41 Pauletta: Gee. Am i in the restroom using a toilet.... But River the marsmallow woman (Squishy's Mom) was inside the toilet! That was way too scary.

Very Interesting… but, WHY?😮
Radio yg make merkuri
i love a good restoration but i see a radio like that and i think ''an entire digital home entertainment system could fit in that case''
Absolutely true, but it would never give you the same feeling when you turn it on. Modern technology is obviously much better, but the nostalgia is completely disappeared.
i have this propblem with old radios. they dontt even need to be so old. just analog radios.
the problem is that old days. the analog radio channels had a wider bandwith than digital bandwith.
meaning. when you hear modern radio stations today. thei analog radion recieving bandwith is greater than the radio station sends out. ending with a lot off white noise with the music. i would put a digital radio in it.
thật lạ mắt.//'
That acrylic backplate looks awesome!
This radio Is fantastic
🇻🇪👍🏻🤘💪
How to completely destroy a rare piece of pre ww2 radio history.
You should have left it to someone who can do this properly
💀👍🏻
hi this is your best restoration

Wtf did i just watch? What part of this was restored?
Fantastic
👍
Just wow broh
Ufff. Casi se estaba deshaciendo... 🙀🙀🙀
Leider nicht Original Restauriert.
I think the hardest part would have been applying the “dirt” before restoration
Waste of time
Acrylic back?? Black plastic "fabric" without even a single adornment??? Pfffffft, I would've never sent you my grandpa's vintage red Philco 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ Plus, that "WC" thing was totally unnecessary and disturbing... 😡😡 Wanna make jokes, breaking the ice?? Great, I love jokes!! But please at the right moments... 🤔🤔
Fake
So fake.
So youn did a half harted job on the radio cabinet. What about the radio chassie it's self, 60 odd years old and most of the capacitors and electrolitics let alone the resistors would have been way off spec, let alone the wiring around the chassie. Is it any wonder that you have mains hum . There are ways of bringing a very old radio back from the dead, and sir, your way is far from correct and if any thing is down right dangerous. Take my advise, stay away from things you apear to know nothing about in repairing.
You call that a restauration? I call it a tasteless happening. Poor radio... Better stick to hand grenades.
