First off, love your reaction when Mickey passed by Mortimer's Market. Secondly, you made another fantastic secrets video. This could be our new favorite secrets video from you. Lots of interesting fun facts and history with Buena Vista Street. So cool that you also met Tony too. We met him during our last visit at the park. Thank you for making this video. We can't wait for more! 😃

Also, we know know another reason why Cinderella is terrible at soccer. It's because she keeps losing her shoes. Lol 😄

Here's a few more trivia about Buena Vista Street. On the right side, there is a building with a sign where there's art classes being taught there with the list of 9 people. Those are the 9 Old Men, the original top animators that worked alongside Walt Disney.
Another one is that in the candy shop window there is a replica of a Disneyland attraction that was planned for Fantasyland in Disneyland called Big Rock Candy Mountain. It would have been a ride where guests where the Casey Jr train through the mountain. If you look really hard inside of the mountain, you might even find a yeti which references the Matterhorn.

Concerning the 2638 1/2 The first two digits of all the addresses (26 or 27) refer to two of the years that the Walt Disney Studios were located on Hyperion Avenue in Los Angeles. The second two digits often, though not always, correspond to a milestone year in the history of the Studios. For example, the address of Julius Katz Shoe and Watch Repair is 2701 Buena Vista St., representing the year of Walt Disney’s birth - 1901.
Not sure which Disney event in 1938 (June or July) this is referring to, though....

But do you guys remember how when the trolley cars were out of commission, they brought out toy-sized trolleys and had cast members walking the tracks with them, asking people to clear the way for the trolleys?! 😂
I love this video, because Buena Vista street is one of the spots I didn't know the secrets for! I know a lot of the DCA history, but not many secrets. So I'm loving that you're branching out to that park. Quick moment of appreciation for your jokes on the trolley that made everyone laugh. Sounds like you need to work on the Jungle Cruise! Haha. Side note: 2:43.... RELATABLE.

Great video, so much enthusiasm! Way to match the sunny Californian attitude ;) BTW, Bounds was Walt's wife Lilian's last name. In fact in the early days, to get off of awkward situations, The Disneys would register their name under Lilian's maiden name in hotels.

Just a big thank you for always serving the best trivia vids on Disney. I absolutly love the way you present your show…My husband sings the Scar-role at the Disneyland Lion king show here in Paris. It’s such a huge succes here, they are going to do a third season next year.Big hug and keep up the great work.

Provost Park Pass Ok, in all seriousness, I guessed it could've been the date Snow White came out, (2/6/38 just like the trolley cars), but turns out that it was released nationwide 2/4/1938. Ok, so my guess was off by 2 days.
How long until someone solves this mystery? The world may never know.

I’m always fascinated by the way they patterned the façades (and sometimes the interiors) after actual historic Los Angeles area buildings. You touched on it with the Hyperion viaduct, but there’s lots, lots more. There’s a two-part article on it on the Yesterland site, but it dates from early DCA, and it’s missing lots of things like the Frank Lloyd Wright restrooms. Still, it’s always fun to compare the park versions with the avtobuildings they copied.
And you can compare the Disnified Red Cars with the actual ones that run on weekends at SCRM in Perris, CA, near Riverside. They also have things like old Disneyland ticket booths, a SF cable car that used to be the parking lot shuttle at Knott’s, Ward Kimball’s Grizzly Flats full-sized steam trains, etc., so it might make a good side excursion for a video.

Hyperion Bridge lands you in Atwater Village not in Glendale. The bridge is about three blocks from the Studio in Los Feliz. Also in Los Feliz, is a oldish looking structure that Walt and the guys from the Studio, helped with the decor. Called the 'Tam O'Shanter', Walt ate there a lot, so much so, the table he liked to eat at has a plaque with his name on it, till this day

7:09 As a train buff I’m obliged to say the “Silver Limited” is not a real train, at least not one I’ve ever heard of. However the look of the popcorn stand is definitely inspired by the sleek stainless steel passenger cars that were popular on American railroads in the 1940s and 50s, and the name “Popcorn Hot Limited” is most likely a reference to the Santa Fe Railway’s “California Limited”, the train that Walt rode from Kansas City to L.A. in 1923. The “Popcorn Hot Limited” logo also bears a resemblance to the Santa Fe’s logo, and the adjacent striping bears a resemblance to the Santa Fe’s famous “Warbonnet” paint scheme. The orange, silver and black colors on the stand could be an homage to the similar color scheme the Western Pacific Railroad used for their famous “California Zephyr” passenger train, a recreation of which was previously stationed in Sunshine Plaza prior to its Buena Vista Street transformation.

I love Packards. I know a history thing about the Packards. Because Packards were luxury vehicles, when the Great Depression happened, it almost crushed the company. So, to incentive sales, they invented buying cars on installment payments. Before that time, no one had ever had car payments before.
