      I love this. I bought a sportster 48 front fender. My xv750 cafe racer front end is a zx6r and it only has 1 fender bracket on the front side of the tire where as yours has 2. How would you recommend I go about getting the necessary support for my fender since I only have brackets on the front end of my rotors and not the rear

    I found this channel a day back, and I can happily say that I have finished watching all your videos in the 'Honda CB750 Cafe Racer Build' playlist. You have amazing talent on grinding that I have noticed. Another thing is that the cafe design that you have in mind is just brilliant, not like other ones I find on youtube. Way to go and I'm eagerly waiting for the finished motorcycle.
    Love from India.
    Cheers.

    You are genius about simplicity. Angle stock and locking pliers for you welding jig!
    I cannot count the hours spent filling boogered threads in my mechanical career.
    Great video. Just too short for my liking. lol

    Not a bad idea Dan didn't realise till the last moments the holes in the fender are closer than the mounting brackets and it just shows the bars tapered back in the last shots ..must admit my welding on something that small needs a bit more work to finesse it ..lol.hope those beers are going down nicely ..

    • @CafeRacerGarage

      Thank you my friend. The common question Iv had here in the comments is if the front fender will vibrate and that is a good question. If it does, I guess I may need to make it slightly stronger or a top bracket/ brace, I guess time will tell when I do a road test.
      Yes the beers were very good and well earned I think lol :)

    Looks good! But...is it sturdy enough? Will it flex? I mean, the mudguard is its own bracket, so to speak. And those rods are long and not far apart. Just thinking safety! :-)

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can pick up a cheap stick welder that will do the job, If you want to get a Mig Id recommend using gas, Its a little more expensive to buy the shielding gas but way cleaner and nicer to weld with. If you are in Australia or New Zealand the Cigweld Ultra 185 is the best welder Id recommend and it does Stick, Mig, & Tig here is the video I did on it th-cam.com/video/Jw-GSlSXO5s/w-d-xo.html Keep in mind its only available in Australia and NZ at the moment tho

    • @Gwlyddyn
      @Gwlyddyn 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CafeRacerGarage I'm thinking about getting a used MIG/MAG with gas as I've heard the flux wire MIG welders aren't the best. Feels more suited for small jobs on a cafe racer than a stick welder. :)

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gwlyddyn Very good idea, I understand how much better a Mig is but you will be amazed what you can do with a stick welder when it’s all you have on hand 😮
