Ahh my dream profession :') I am a current pre-PA student, and this video is so inspiring. Thank you so much for showing us your day-to-day activities!
This was so informative! I’m starting PA school in September (hopefully) and you are the first person I’ve seen to actually show what it’s like to work as a PA! Thank you, I’m more excited now than before 😊 great video btw!❤
I love this Video! I’m working on my PA and my specialty is Dermatology. Your such a great PA. Covering your doctor in such an ethical way. That’s how you do it! So amazing.
I worked in an Urgent Care. Nothing that happens there shocks me. I'm always surprised how nice these UC units are that I see on TH-cam. Many of them actually have break rooms! Ours was a dump.
I love this day in the life...wonderful video. I've been more and more interested in the PA program but with me being 27, is it too late to start school? I haven't being able to go school but i love to help people. I think this would be a great career since you can work right after school without having to go through years of residency.
Hey there! I just want to share my own experience and hopefully, it'll help you with your decision. This year I turned 26 and decided to go back to school to finish my undergrad because I realized that my dream is to help people and I love medicine. The thought of being a PA never left my mind since High School so here I am finishing my B.S and then PA school, It's never too late! PA school is about 2 or 3 years so the only difference will be that you'll be 30 and still wondering the 'what if' if you get stuck thinking "is it too late?" or "am I too old?" I do suggest reaching out to local PAs and asking to shadow them. Good luck & you got this!!
Age should not deter you from pursuing a career and gaining knowledge. If you are financially stable and are prepared to go back to school, why not. Even if you have a family, it will be challenging but not impossible. I am 24 years old. I am leaning to becoming a veterinarian, but PA sounds interesting, and I wouldn't mind doing that for a career. I still live with my parents and don't have a child to take care of beside my 4 dogs and turtles. I work at a small private animal hospital as a veterinary assistant. I interact with the patients and owners, but pay is low even a RVT pay is just barely above an assistant, especially for the amount of things they do. I wish there was a PA like job for Veterinary medicine.
You have like 30 years until retirement age! Of course you're not too old. Don't let being 27 stop you. People start earlier and much later. You do you
Thank you for making this video! This is my first time watching your channel. I’m a current PA student and am wondering what life after school looks like. So, thank you!
Thank you! Life is great if you learn to manage your finances well and you have the right tools to set yourself up for finanical independence! Because medicine is filled with burnout!
on point with the different visits. worked uc and was my favorite! nice video! can’t wait for this to be me , part time only tho lol idk how you can leave your babies 😢
Hey Sami! I love your content. New grad PA in Las Vegas here. For a future video, do you think maybe you could show us how you would chart defensively in that scenario that your colleague experienced? 😄
Do you think you can do a an example video on charting? I'm a Chiropractic Assistant atm and I chart but I feel like I should be doing more. Especially since I'm considering to go to PA school.
@@samingoshow wow! I just got my bachelors in public health and want to pursue sonography! So I’m applying to DMS program but my end goal is to be a PA ❤️ was the experience as a sonography worth pursing before PA school?
It really varies. Sometimes 20ish on a slow day. Mostly in the 30-40ish patients a day. But keep in mind, it’s not low acuity patients. We function almost like a mini ER.
UC PA works in urgent care, which is not in a hospital facility. Typically it’s an outpatient clinic with less acute patients. ER PA works in the ER, which is always in a hospital. Trauma PA treats only trauma patients in the hospital.

@@StarjeIly. you can major any in undergrad degree but typically need to fulfill patient care hours, prereqs and GRE. Then apply.

Don't think about the time. I'm 34 and going back. Plans to be in PA school at 40 is my goal.
