Music is the only way I entertain myself during journeys. I cannot read books or even look at screens for too long because I have severe motion sickness. Looks like the world wants to overload our mind with information which causes stress and anxiety.
I'm also considering an old BlackBerry but unfortunately the BB10 and older devices are going to be rendered unusable early next year supposedly. And the BB KeyOne is just too expensive used right now... Look forward to hearing about you trying your Lumia!

Hi, just wondering did the Nokia ever get the issue sorted where WhatsApp notifications weren't altering the user. Only when opening the app did the user see that they received a message.
Hi, I am hoping to purchase this phone for my grandpa for his own independence (he's living alone, I am located in Melbourne, covid sucks). He has bad vision and bad hearing. Could you please share how easy it may be to set speed dial and also how to put the phone on loud speaker? Your help is much appreciated ! hope you are keeping safe and well
Hi there. Thank you for your kind words. Loud speaker is easy enough, much like the old Nokia phones, but honestly... this phone is not super intuitive to use for things like speed dial. I couldn't figure it out easily myself without looking up a guide online, so if your grandpa is not super tech savvy it might be hard. I do know there are phones geared towards seniors here in Australia -- like even ones with SOS buttons and such -- maybe check those out?
I have a question on this phone, I’ve been considering buying it for a long time now but I still don’t know if you can actually listen to WhatsApp voice messages on this device, does anybody know?
Great video.... And thought process... My biggest 'worry' about ditching my smartphone is losing the calendar, as I find it very useful (and I don't want to go back to a pocket diary!) How use able is the calendar on the 2720? Will it remind you of events etc?
Calendar is actually pretty decent! As long as you build the events in some other device, it does notify you properly and you can set 10-min-before notifications
@@michaelchew4932 yup exactly, you can sign in with your google account and it can sync every 30 mins to pull whatever’s in your calendar. hope that helps!
Are you finding it a much smoother and bug free experience? If I had to do this over I would just buy a standard dumbphone without any of the bells and whistles of KaiOS.
Gidday, Im trying to find info on Google assistant with this phone. Is this phone able to be used with Google assistant for voice to text in SMS or whatsapp? If so whats it like? faster than typing? Also can you use Google assistant to "call mum" or "Text Mum", that sort of thing?
Good question! You can use voice to text for SMS/WhatsApp long pressing the center button th-cam.com/video/O8CFIKsc2YI/w-d-xo.html On my phone this loads up Google Assistant to then type it out for you. A bit slow but will be faster for really long messages. There's also voice messages on WhatsApp so you can use that as well. I tried the "call mum" type but that doesn't work though.
Thanks for this. Thinking of getting a feature phone for the same reasons as you. Does the WhatsApp app do voice messages? As I see this as a nice workaround to typing
I think it's a bit expensive too be honest, for what you're getting, at least. Depends on how much you need the "smart" features. Cause the smart features aren't really implemented in a way that are helpful or user friendly IMO (slow and kinda buggy). If you definitely need the smart features but are just looking for a cheaper / lower spec phone, try an Android device in the same price range?
There is a qr code scanner but it's very unreliable because this phone's camera is not good, so you will need perfect lighting and you'll need to be very zoomed in.
@@PGBlanks I am so computer/mobile illiterate needing such advice. Thank you SO MUCH esp since Sydney still needs QRs . Got to think about this phone...
If you have 4G on it only lasts 1-1.5 days unfortunately, so when I would use it I would just keep everything offline and it could last me like 5 days.
Christ almighty what is wrong with people. Going on like giving up the smartphone is like a life or death thing. I have an iPhone SE 2nd Gen it spends 99% of time stuck in a drawer because it does my head in. I use the 2720 and before that I used a 12 year old Nokia 6303i. I work in the city and get absolutely pissed at people walking in to me or not paying attention because they are too busy gawping at this shit tick tok etc. I keep in touch with social media I have an IPad Pro 2020 with M1 chip that sits in my bag and I look at it when im sat down not walking down a street and nearly walking in to someone or walking out in front of a bus (im a bus driver happens all the goddamn time). How do you think we got by before smartphones? I started off with a Nokia 5110 no internet no Color screen no camera or anything like that.
Unfortunately not as of the time of making this video, it's a real limitation for me as I would've loved to just keep WhatsApp Web on. There isn't a functionality to scan the QR code from within this phone's WhatsApp app.

I have a smart phone but never use its' smarts because I detest the technology, lol. They have zombified the planet. Thanks to your video, I now feel better about ordering the Nokia flip phone as my call and text gadget. It will be the home phone that I can take with me!
Awesome Video PG!! the only platform I have is youtube!
Thank you!
Does it support Wi-Fi Calling?
Should I buy this???
Might not be the best choice in 2023 as this phone is quite old already
I feel like Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 G1650 is better than this Nokia 2720. Been trying to find that Folder 2, but to no avail 😔 still expensive tho.
Damn the folder looks nice!
Life on smart phones can be very difficult
My biggest 'worry' about ditching my smartphone is losing the calendar, as I find it very useful (and I don't want to go back to a pocket diary!)
How use able is the calendar on the 2720? Will it remind you of events etc?
Calendar is actually pretty decent! As long as you build the events in some other device, it does notify you properly and you can set 10-min-before notifications
@@PGBlanks thanks for the reply! When you say another device, does the calendar link to Google calendar or similar then?
@@michaelchew4932 yup exactly, you can sign in with your google account and it can sync every 30 mins to pull whatever’s in your calendar. hope that helps!
Thats interesting! many thanks for the info!
I'm buying one of these as I'm fed up of my android phone
How's battery life?
the Nokia 6300 has 3X the internals to support KaiOS
Are you finding it a much smoother and bug free experience? If I had to do this over I would just buy a standard dumbphone without any of the bells and whistles of KaiOS.
Gidday, Im trying to find info on Google assistant with this phone. Is this phone able to be used with Google assistant for voice to text in SMS or whatsapp? If so whats it like? faster than typing? Also can you use Google assistant to "call mum" or "Text Mum", that sort of thing?
Good question! You can use voice to text for SMS/WhatsApp long pressing the center button th-cam.com/video/O8CFIKsc2YI/w-d-xo.html
On my phone this loads up Google Assistant to then type it out for you.
I need a goddamn new blackberry, but this one will do for the time being
is it worth to buy with 120 bucks?
Actually i am trying to downgrading to smartphone
I think it's a bit expensive too be honest, for what you're getting, at least. Depends on how much you need the "smart" features.
Cause the smart features aren't really implemented in a way that are helpful or user friendly IMO (slow and kinda buggy).
If you definitely need the smart features but are just looking for a cheaper / lower spec phone, try an Android device in the same price range?
Can you delete TH-cam on this device? Thinking of picking one up. Also can you use voice notes on WhatsApp?
I've never used the Google maps. I have a Garmin gps that works much better where i live.
Whatsaap is working?
Can you download Spotify on the Nokia 2720?
Not on this one due to KaiOS unfortunately
Can it do QR code, because I bought an Innovations flip phone ,but no ( necessary these days,) QR ability /
@@nancygaston4095 ahhh yes I would just recommend an entry level Android phone so at least you can have access to Service NSW and QR codes and all.
How long does the battery last?
If you have 4G on it only lasts 1-1.5 days unfortunately, so when I would use it I would just keep everything offline and it could last me like 5 days.
hi , did you get the new WhatsApp update? it enables voice calls
Not on this phone, unfortunately. I hear it is quite random, some have it and some don't, but not sure what models have and don't have it nowadays. :/
@@PGBlanks yeah they just released this update this month for all kai os phones with 512 mb ram , can you check ?
Any news on this? It would be a dealbreaker for me
Watapp calls work ?
Just voice messages but not calls as far as I know
The real reason why he did this is because of the hate he got on his last video
maybe ;)
whatsapp has a desktop app
Good save 😅
Can you use whatsapp web with this phone?
I have NOT got a "smart" touch phone and do NOT want one !! I am getting a flip phone with NO apps
can you do whatsapp web from it?
Unfortunately not as of the time of making this video, it's a real limitation for me as I would've loved to just keep WhatsApp Web on. There isn't a functionality to scan the QR code from within this phone's WhatsApp app.
The dent in his head 💀
