  • Another morning Wade fishing the Surf in Galveston Texas. I went down to the beach hoping to catch some speckled trout in the surf and managed to hook into a few fish later in the day after having a slow morning. Took them home and cooked them up on the grill for an early dinner!

I was at that same location Friday. The trout were running the first gut. I was out on the second bar throwing deeper couldn’t catch anything. Started throwing back towards the beach and caught a few nice ones like that. Keep up the good work.

Yeah man! Idk if you’ve happened to see the last surf fishing vid I posted before this one, but that’s EXACTLY how that day went to! Went to the second gut and nothing, turned around and started casting backwards just to see, and boom! They bite all morning until 1:00 pm in the first little gut!

Those waves were definitely beating you up. This is amazing to see you catch several fishes. Been trying to find that spot where you wade at. Looking forward if seeing more video post. Keep it coming buddy. 1👍🎣

Grew up fishing the surf in GTown. Learned a few things.
    Get out there before daylight.
Throw top waters early. Then switch to mirrolures, then spoons.
If you want to have a stupid stringer. Walk into the L side of 91st pier with about 3DZ croaker. Had many mornings pulling hogs off the edge of the lights with live croaker.
The pier creates deep wide guts, and holds big fish from the lights at night.

Sure looks nice out there. I cooked trout once, I must have cooked it wrong. It tasted just like they smell.

I believe they call that a bait basket. Suppose to be better on the beach for keeping the sharks away from your fish. They sell them at academy for pretty cheap I think.

Learn artificial. This year they been hitting smaller profile baits.
I kayak and wade Galveston about 2 times weekly. What I like to use is 4 different paddle tails. Down South Lures color x super model size and burner shade size. Then the same but in Pearl with Chartuese tail. Some 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 jig heads. Then a gold and silver spoon. 1/4 oz and 1/2 oz size. Then 2 top waters. A black with Chartuese head she pup and bone. These new .afield knockers I'm really liking. A light softdine xl, dark soft dine xl. Ypzurin 70 sp minnow in a silver color is a bonus
