      Agree with Chris. You should load it up with more advanced content and sell it. I’d buy it just on the way you explain things is excellent. And I’ve seen tons of content from others on surf fishing but this was by far the best presentation. Well done sir👏👏👏

    I was on the surf last Monday in Galveston and saw the birds slamming into the water pulling fish, threw a silver spoon and caught and landed my first Jack Crevalle. Such a fun fight!

Im about to go to South Padre Island to surf fishing I like your video about how you brake all of it down for people that know what to do but are missing all of the small points sometimes it's the small things that make or break a day of fishing

    “Incredibly practical” is how I would describe all your tips man.
    I’ve always been thrown way too much information that ends up contradicting the prior stuff I thought I learned. This was really easy to follow. Now I’ve got to convince myself to leave the boat in the slip on a calm early summer morning. That’s a tough call to make most of the times. Thanks again Capt!

    Started smoking Specs on Mirror Lures in the 2nd gut out between San Luis Pass & Surfside TX.
    Bait running everywhere in 2nd gut, you can see your feet out there on the 2nd bar in waste deep water it's so beautiful. Flat & no wind in June 2022.. Just pick a spot at sunrise & they'll start smoking

    THANKS! my wife and I are new to the CC area and are dying to go fishing and learn how to surf fish. You are truly the first real "how to fish" video we've found. An eddy is more of something you’re going to see with your eye than on googles earth, especially in the surf. Current directions are going to vary. Bubbles on the surface, dirty water, etc should give it away.

    • @CaptCalebTV
      @CaptCalebTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've spent a lot of time underwater in Destin. Not really as many guts as it is a sudden drop off the beach then a gradual slope to deep water. I did catch some reds there fishing the surf at night while goofing off. The worst thing I experienced there were these little poofball algae blooms coming in and destroying my lines ability to stay out. great presentation, so, my question to you is, how often is Google Earth updated. its 7-22-21 as I type this. Storm surges, tropical depressions etc continually change the shore line here in Galveston. Is there another app IE Google Maps etc thats more up to date/current. just trying to something thats up to date to cut down on time. Thank you.

    • @joshcfishing1621
      @joshcfishing1621 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Google Earth is updated every few months from what I can tell. You can scroll through time the various images were taken which gives a good sense of how the area has changed over time and how it looks during different tide heights which is nice.

  • @miguelmartinez2770
    @miguelmartinez2770 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the sandbars and cuts constantly changing? How reliable in terms of real time is Google earth regarding these cuts or guts whatever they call them? Just rely on the debris I guess?

    • @CaptCalebTV
      @CaptCalebTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some do, but the predominant ones take a lot to change up, it seems. I have several that I have fished for a good while.

  • @linuxnurd
    @linuxnurd ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm headed down there this week, I was wondering if anyone has tried to use a drone to fly over water to see if they can spit the fish from above?
    I am a little concerned to try this because of the wind

  • @terrystrickland981
    @terrystrickland981 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question for Captain. How ofton does Google Earth update? With all the hurricanes we have experienced the cuts will have changed, yet the area I plan on fishing in November, I am still seeing the same vehicle parked near the beachhouse I have rented!

    • @CaptCalebTV
      @CaptCalebTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The updates are usually sporadic and a surprise. Some of the guts will shift while there are others I’ve fished for a long time. I would have more than one plan laid out before I left the dock, no doubt.

    • @CaptCalebTV
      @CaptCalebTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      *nailed it. I do believe fish move from the surf to the bays and back, especially in certain bays. Not all of em, but some of them. That’s where you get your tiderunners in bays like Galveston. My assumption, as I’m not a biologist.

    when you're wadefishing in the surf, how do you know if you're in 1st, 2nd or 3rd gut? Depend on the depth, or...?

      Count the sandbars. First gut is off beach then the next sandbar separates the 1st and 2nd. Use caution. It can be deep sometimes depending on area and tide.

    aren't the cuts where the water is actually draining back to the ocean mostly? The waves bring plenty of water on shore, but the holes in the sandbar act as drains to let it escape back to the sea? In other words, the places where you'd expect to find riptides if you were swimming?

      They let water in or out, depending on which way the tide is going.
