  • Hi! Thanks for visiting the channel! In this video, i tried a FlyHawk model, HMS Agincourt in 1/700 scale. It is the normal version, without the extra PE parts. As it is only waterline, i decided to build a base for it resembling rough seas in the atlantic ocean.

    Flyhawk is the best-of-the-best with regard to plastic ship kits, the only step up from there is resin. Nice job with the build and base, looked really good when it was done, great video!

    There is a pre-cut wood laminate deck available for this kit on the aftermarket, as well.

      I have build Prince of Wales and Königsberg in the deluxe Versions and i build the Scharnhorst right now. But all the PE is so complicated. :D But in the end its all worth it.

      @@LePaulster I have got mine today and i must say they are crazy! The ship i got is smaller than your ones, but it is amazingly detailed and the PE and metal parts look very nice! lots of work, though! I think i will start it during christmas holiday.
      I guess the prince of wales from FlyHawk is more detailed than the tamiya 1/350 scale...

    Great job from such a small scale, 1/ 350 is driving me nuts especially with all of the pe parts associated. I was really impressed with the deck weathering. I usually use deck tan with an application of black panel liner. On my current project I'm building an Alaska cruiser and didn't like the natural decking so I lightly oversprayed wit thin coats of my own concoction of deck blue with purposely left light spots. Sorry for rambling along but again good job

    • @funinscale2892
      @funinscale2892  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! The PE parts can become quite an annoyance, true! sometimes there are so many microscopic ones. I usually do the deck weathering in brown so the crevices look like slightly shaded darker brown wood., i think there is a brown panel liner as well, so the result is probably the same as with oils. I usually like the natural deck colours more than the blue because with the deck blue the ship looks so uniformly most of the time. Have you tried chipping fluid on decks? it is a cool method to make deck blue and let some wood look through

    • @georgedistel1203
      @georgedistel1203 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@funinscale2892 haven't tried chipping fluid yet. The closest hobby shop is like 55 miles away and I only go twice a year. That adds to the problem of spending way too much money and the wife goes ballistic. The arthritis doesn't help much either, although it is a distraction from everything goes on.

      @@georgedistel1203 Sorry to hear, in times like these, being ill is probably one of the least favourable states...
      My girlfriend is annoyed by my collector-attitude where i buy every single kit when in it at a good price, even if i know i won't build it, and my stash gets bigger and bigger, but it's those things that make us modellers happy, so its legit i would argue!

    Amazing build sir. What a specular kit, I would love to build a kit like that, but too many small parts ( my hands shake to much). The paint job was perfect. I really liked the ocean base you made, simple but looks great. Again sir enjoyed the video and your professional builds. 👍👍

    excellent work, just one point, the white ensign was only flown at the stern and the only flag to be flown from the stem was the union jack and only in port, other than that brilliant

      Hi! It is a battleship, i'm not sure if it is still pre-dreadnought, but i'd assume it is a dreadnought-type battleship, judging from the armament and calibers of her guns.
      But it is the one battleship with the most turrets and most main guns ever built, as far as i have read, pretty interesting history too - should have been commissioned in two different navies before ending up as her majesty's ship

    • @chriswright7857
      @chriswright7857 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      She was a dreadnought battleship that took part in the first world war. Originally ordered for the Brazilian Navy she would be sold to the Ottoman Empire before she was completed, and then seized by the Royal Navy (she was being built in a British shipyard) at the outbreak of hostilities with Germany. She had 7 (yes seven) twin 12" turrets that the crew named after the days of the week.
