- The Japanese battleship Mikasa was a pre-dreadnought battleship built for the Imperial Japanese Navy in the late 19th century. It was the flagship of Admiral Togo Heihachiro during the Russo-Japanese War and played a key role in the Battle of Tsushima in 1905, where it helped secure the Japanese victory.
The Mikasa was equipped with four 12-inch guns and had a top speed of 18 knots. It was one of the most modern battleships of its time and was renowned for its durability and fighting ability. After the war, it served as a training ship and was eventually preserved as a museum ship in Yokosuka, Japan. The Mikasa is now a popular tourist attraction and is considered one of the best-preserved battleships from the early 20th century.

Wow! excellent build. The Miskasa is the only British-built battleship still in existence. It's a shame that the UK, a country that revolutionised shipbuilding, never bothered to preserve any of its ships for the nation. At least Japan preserved Miskasa...
Thank you for your comments!

Beautifully and meticulously assembled. Beyond me, frankly! One question: what dimensions of plexiglass display box would a model like this require? Thanks!
Wonderful. How do you get the black into the recesses to make things stand out?
Thank you! I used Tamiya panel line wash for that.
Fantastic, I am just starting this kit, what are the white and black dabs of stuff you put on for the weathering? Is it just white and black craft paint?
It just artist oil paint.
Awesome! What red are you using for the bottom???
Thank you! I used Tamiya dull red spray can.
Great build! Is this the Hasegawa Z21 1/350 model? Greetings from Denmark!
