Ok, DCCD or A-DCCD as its known on this model (auto and manual mode), is the driver controlled center differential (Auto, hence the A-DCCD).
On this model it was a 36F to 64R max torque split, to 50F 50R in "Lock".
Also, don't confuse JDM cars with UK ones, the JDM's engine is about 80% different, that includes the standard JDM STI models. 🙂
Its not a Spec C, its a 2003 Spec C Limited, there were 3 versions made in this model, the 16 inch, which is the car that would have been used as a base for a rally car, the 17 inch, which is a more hardcore (note, has less goodies in, but will come to that later) and this limited edition.
The limited had over the 17 inch model, the black trimmed seats, central locking, electric windows, the standard STI alloys (the 16 inch had steel wheels and the 17 inch had the desirable BBS forged wheels).
There was also a couple of things like the trip computer and the ping for the key in the ignition that the 17 inch didnt have, oh, and the passenger sun visor, not on the 17 inch either.
Weight was saved by removing the front crash member (its a huge piece of metal) and replacing the subframe with a redesigned one, the windscreen was 30% thinner, not the side glass and cost a fortune (over £1300 for an original one).
The battery is smaller, as is the air conditioning condenser, the addition of a front mounted oil cooler, that lightweight bonnet (boot on later cars as well), lightweight carpet (thinner), no sound proofing, so you can hear everything that hits the underside of the car, the engine on the Spec C (pre 2005 MY) also had larger ports compared to the GL and KL STi's (the difference being the GL had the A-DCCD and Front LSD, the KL didnt and maybe also not the 13:1 quick rack), and as stated, the VF36 roller bearing turbo (GL and KL had the VF37 sleeve bearing turbo).
Geometry was also different on the Spec C, being slightly longer.
The 2005 models incorporated a lot of these upgrades (geometry and larger ports) so not much difference from then on, depends if you liked your comfort or not.
Think thats it, manual mirrors on the 17 inch, only adjustable by winding down the window and pushing them to where you want to look 😄
Owned both a 2003 STI Spec C (one of the first in the country back in 2003) and a white 2003 Spec C limited a few years later (changed jobs and sold my 17 inch Spec C, then found out I didnt need to really....)
Both cars pushed out over 310bhp in standard form (just an STI panel filter), standard power was rated at 280ps and 290lbft of torque.

Spec C是1350kg，spec C Limited 是1370kg！
这个版本类似于evo 6 rs2，evo9 GT似的

Sti ej207 engine (not ej20 ) stronger internals bigger radiator, few more bits, standard one won’t have any sti logos just a wrx on the boot wish she done bit more research before rushing to say stuff.

Technically she wasn’t wrong, She stated the correct engine in general, yes it is a ej207 and the WRX is the ej205 but in general both still ej20 engines,

Don't worry about it, it's my problem. :D 99,9% of viewers doesn't care anyway. Spec c for me is "complete car" as Japanese say. And couldn't resist to say about owners level of knowledge.
