Considering it's unlikely to top 170mph on the final straight; achieving a sub 7 lap time requires it have exceptional grip and balance, even for a purpose built car.

I own a Subaru STI, but the point of the ring is taking a factory type RA or S209 for bragging rights against other manufactures. Anyone can take a race car there for a record, but let's see what the Subaru factory cars can accomplish there. Also, agree with the other posts to show the complete lap, telemetry, in car cam..etc. I like to see how hard the driver is working the car to accomplish the published time. Look at the other 50 videos at the ring, such as the Camaro ZL1 1LE or Honda Civic Type R. You don't see these manufactures using a full blown race car and not displaying the time, MPH/KPH and full lap. Not sure why Subaru is afraid of this.
there is another video that shows the pov with timer/speed. also this car is nothing like the production models. this is a 2.3 liter with 600hp while the factory type ra is a 2.5 liter with 310hp

Apparently the only qualifier in this record is the fact that the car has 4 doors that open and close, despite the fact that they open to reveal a race-prepped interior filled with unavailable parts that make it illegal to drive on the street. Id be disappointed if they couldnt cram out some sort of record with no limits.

Hello Subaru! We need a bit more clarification on your record claim here. There is too much confusion about the benchmark time you had to beat. Are you comparing this racecar to the Giulia which is a normal production car or is there another list of race sedans? Nonetheless, under 7 minutes with only 310hp (that's the number I found online) is very impressive! Other cars in that ballpark have at least twice as much.
