I knew the guys…really good, nice fellas …put our small town on the map! Loved their music too and all 4 guys were very talented and popular…never forgot them… ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My Mates Band did 4 or 5 Gigs with the Troggs 1980 in Sydney N.S.W. I really clicked with your G.Dad Ronnie. He told me some amazing stories about his Mate Keith Moon, and how Jimi Hendrix contacted them about doing a version of I Can't Control myself 2 weeks before he died, Jimi wanted to discuss the drum bits .No B.S. mate they even put on a piss up for us the last night they were here at Manly Hotel great Guys especially Ronnie.
Love The Troggs I have two facts that you missed, but there are no very known 1. "Wild Thing" was originally released by The Wild Ones in 1965 2. "Strange Movies" their 1973 song was a big hit in Yugoslavia being the only song that was released on the Jugoton Label
Good program. I would have liked to hear mention of the ocarina, which was played in the instrumental solo of “Wild Thing.” I saw later video clips of Reg playing it, but I wonder if he played the ocarina solo which was featured on their biggest hit. Thanks!
Sorry, but your research should be better. As a lifetime Troggs fan, I was appalled to hear you say several song titles totally wrong. "Night of the Long Grass," "Love is All Around," and "Hi, Hi Hazel." Makes one wonder what other "facts," you got wrong.
A lot of the song titles mentioned are slightly incorrect, as are some of the facts. And huge chunks of their history have been overlooked. As someone else has commented, no mention of Feels Like A Woman. That's crazy! As a fan since 1966, and also as their manager in 1978, when I made a record with them, I wanted to hear new facts. Sadly, that wasn't the case. I have many happy memories of talking with Reg and Ronnie about their early history. R.I.P Reg, Ronnie, Richard Moore and Tich (from Dave Dee Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich), who was a member during the time I was their manager. I could tell you a few stories, but I'd probably get banned from YT if I did!
@@derekstocker6661 There was a book called Wild Things (I wonder how long it took them to think of that)? Written by Alan Clayson and Jacqueline Ryan. I read it, but there are a lot of gaps in it. Sadly, I never knew Chris Britton or Pete Staples, but from my time hanging out with Reg and Ronnie, all I can say is they were amazing people and deserved all the success they had. I asked Reg about their early history, and he told me a few stories. Ronnie was very into King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. He was researching a book. Just remember them for the amazing music they produced. I still listen to a lot of their stuff. Great memories. Before I became their manager, I had planned to have them play at a local venue in a town called Haverhill. But a few days before, the guitarist they had at the time, Richard Moore, was stabbed by someone after he became jealous of his girlfriend admiring Richard.
@@britishcrimewriter-LeeWood Hello, thanks so much about the Wild Things book. I will try to obtain a copy, what a great privilege you had to know these guys and be part of their fabulous sound! Appreciate your help.
Suggestions for new videos. How about doing What Happened to The Vagrants? which featured Leslie West. Also, how about What Happened to The Hassles? which featured Billy Joel
“I Can’t Control Myself”? Sounds awful. If an old incontinent person, there are adult diapers. As a young man, the ladies will be very frustrated, since you have no endurance, thus no pleasure for the lady.

Love the Troggs, brilliant sound and some fabulous tracks, thanks guys and RIP Reg.
Amazing Video, my grandad was the drummer Ronnie Bond, so was awesome seeing him smashing the drums. 👏👏🥁
No way!

@@AdvancedQ10COQ10 Haha that’s amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this story! 🤘❤️
The troggs were very popular in New Zealand in 1960s many bands played their songs
Does anyone know if Reg Presley was abducted by aliens? Aliens gotta groove too, ya know.
The first single I ever bought was "Any Way You Want Me", their second best ballad after "Love Is All Around".
Wild Thing was like proto metal.
A lot's been said about who 'started' this. i was a kid then.
The Troggs get forgotten. Pretty kick ass imho.
I started listening to them from 2023 ❤
Was waiting to hear about the song ,Feels like a woman.
Was not mentioned.
That song is pure metal. What a track . Did you know there are two versions of that song by the Troggs .
Cool. They were right for the times in the U.S. Thanks
Right on
Love the Troggs
Thanks👍
No problem 👍
Troggs Rule! But... Horrible AI narration on this Vid! Why?
I loved the Troggs. But then i loved the whole British Invasion.
Love The Troggs

Reg didn't play the ocarina on the original, it was one of the studio crew.

Thanks for pointing it out! This was one of my earlier videos. You have an awesome connection to the band.
Thanks for this, what about a book about the band? Would love to know more about one of my fave groups of all time!
