  • The R100 Trad was a special order R80 with a 980cc engine, 200 bikes originally destined for the Egyptian Police but ended up being shipped and sold in Japan from 1990-91

Just about to look at one of these .....would getting parts be a problem? as it is rare. Cheers

@@kengilly867 is it the one back east on marketplace near south Carolina? I was on business and saw another for sale over there about a month ago. But to answer the question it's still really easy to find most parts I do warn you the front rotors on these late model airheads with the dual brembos are ridiculously expensive I think it's about $450+ for the pair depending on were you look. Otherwise every part I've had to order and locate has been available as the actual drivetrain and engine in these was used in many other bikes until about 95-6 I believe. The basic engine and drive unit is virtually unchanged besides the cylinder heads from the R75-R100 with minor updates and ignition changes by the time they get to the 89+ model year. Overall has been way easier to work on and source parts for than any of the older Hondas I've owned as well.

I have one of the 180 that were sent to the USA market. Great bike! But this is not a paralever. The R100R was a paralever.

Great bike….I agree, but I believe I said it WAS monolever, distinctively different from the paralever.

@@x7eater I thought I heard you call it a paralever. I must have been mistaken. Apologies.

I was wondering is that engine belongs to 247? How about the horse power? Thanks

It's a standard R80 from 1990, but with a 980cc engine from the factory production line including matching final drive gearing

x7eater I am curious about the acceleration n torque power. Fyi, I have a 1991 r 80rt and I am satisfied with its power

@@eddylarkin2270 I would also be perfectly happy with the performance of the R80, I've also owned an R65, R80, and R100S....and the power characteristics are quite different across all those bike.
