Signed up for the course. Its really great! He does a good job of addressing the concepts and quickly ironing out what might be missing if you are self-taught. And then its off to working with the pros. Thats where a lot of it happens. Watching the photo develop with each small step in the process and knowing why each choice is made. Great stuff
lol, I thought he's speaking Russian or dutch or something, I was like why the hell did TH-cam recommend this to me? and then I was like no wait this is English hahaha I like that he doesn't even bother to great the viewer, he went straight to the point lol
im so proud. when i saw the images i was like, hmm i kinda know what to do to achieve this look. and then i watched the videos and i was like, hm the clarity should be turned down and the vibrance etc its kinda similar to what you did! i know this is not a big deal but it is for me!
Quick tip: Use the adjustment brush with auto masking if you wish to edit your subject individually, unlike the radial filter, you won't be affecting the immediate area as well.
Hi ... Thanks for the videos , its nice way to tech the colors for image processing , wonderful videos i like the work of "toneception" in the Instagram , can you please show who to achieve this type of processing.... appreciated
Hey, i love your channel. I am pretty bad with portrait and your channel have teached me a lot. I still struggle with how to get actually a "bad" photo and bring the max out of it. What you could do to save a portrait and still make it interesting
That was just the tutorial I needed to see! You explained everything so well and seeing the way you approach editing different aspects of the picture was super interesting! Also I adore your accent!☺️
Damn, this was.... really good. Like really good. This is my style as well so I knew most going in but it's very helpful to hear things again and also watch someone better than you do the things you know because there's just a little extra things you pick up that make you feel like a fool for not doing before! Subbed
@@MaartenSchrader Good clear explanation and good use of the split screen. Not about you but the photos instead. A clear indication that this is emulating someone else's style as an exercise. Just all around top work.
Thanks for the brown tones tip with the blue HSL slider. I feel like nobody explains that stuff enough and my brain struggles to compute what they do 😅
Just to clarify for you, it’s not the HSL slider he’s adjusting, it’s the Calibration sliders. In my opinion, they are one of the trickiest tools to use in Lightroom, but they can give you results in your colours that are almost impossible to achieve any other way. Happy editing!
Hey Maarten, could you please make a Video about How to get a consistent instagram Feed. I have really struggles with that. I have now really good editing skills but how can I make the photos look the same style?
Absolutely loved how the final image came together perfectly! I was wondering if instead of a person, would you consider looking into a specific filter/look provided by an editing app? I've been editing for quite some time but this one filter just bugs me out! Cannot copy it's look for the life of me
hello, I started using Lightroom recently and I have one problem, first set the values for me as 5200, etc., I only have plus and minus 100, I can ask where I can reset this, thanks :)
Nice video, Maarten. I do most of the time wildlife photography and I really like @michele_bavassano's style. Maybe you could do a video about this as well. Cheers!
Why is it that.. Photos looks different in cell phone than in laptop... Cuz after I edit the photo in PS . And transfer it into the phone it's totally different
it happens to me when I export from lightroom as CR2 but (weirdly) every time i upload it to polarr it shows the color i wanted, then i just download it back but as jpg

not gonna lie, the first like 10 seconds i thought he was speaking something other than english #accents

I thought I was the only one, I still can't understand wtf he's saying 2 minutes in.
Kiwi accent (New Zealander). As an Aussie, I understand him perfectly well
That was an outstanding LR editing tutorial and a genius approach to doing it by matching a reference look. Well done, mate.
Thank you!

Thank you! no problem!
Glad I found your channel mate, my insta pics are good but I couldn’t work out how the pros edit. Thank again
You are actually insane! I am amazed that I have not heard of you before now. Really impressive work!
Thank you!
Your videos helped me a lot to find my editing style. So thanks and keep up the good work🖤💯
Thank you! What did you like about it??
Great style! I will edit my photo's like that from time to time
Keep uploading these types of videos
nice job matching original image.
thank you ! :)
Great tutorial!!
Instead of reset and undo, you can see before and after using the backslash key, just in case you didn't know!
hey thanks, Just wanted to show the cropping as well :)
@@MaartenSchrader suspected as much! Needs to have a shift + backslash option for that
Excellent tutorial. Inspiring to see LR used in this way. Thanks.

Thanks for the vid it was super useful!
super good tut man. Loved it.
Thank you, your tutorials are very helpful and they motivate me to edit more.
Thank you!
Cool..I wish though you would be going in depth when you are doin the curves adjustments
Hey! I will in some videos. If I go in depth in every video on every tool then it gets long and repetitive
@@MaartenSchrader you are very good at explaining you are easy to listen to.

thx you for this video. could you make a tutorial of johnny edlind or max hamilton how they editing pics with lightroom?
This is cool and all, but what about just shooting on film so you can get that look baked in?
yes but not what the channels about, maybe some time!
Can you teach the same in After Effects? I kinda get crazy with color correction
I also like faded style images because it looks like a book :)
Yes, like it's been printed on uncoated paper :-)
Beautiful!!!
Thank you!
the only thing i don't like about your channel, literally the only thing... that you don't post every day. lol! Love your stuff. for so long.

Your monitor might not be color accurate, or your phone. You should try to edit your photos on IPS panel monitor with high color accuracy.
