Seamless jump cuts
Nice
Straight to the point. Precise. Accurate. Clearly presented, no ads. Even almost inside 2 minutes? (Not).
Thanks!
Just what I wanted to say!!!!
ya no ads, he looks like that square space guy tho :p
Love it
Just what I was Thinking :) +1 subscription
I started loving coffee because of how good Pete makes it look.
lol
Me too lol i tried coffee b roll inspired by peter 😅😅
Agreed!
I started getting into coffee even more just because of Pete's love for it and he now has me hooked on good quality coffee
CreatedAbove 😂😂
I don’t even take pictures. These are just satisfying to watch
At some point you'll have need to developed inside without knowing cause I was being like you like 2 yrs ago but seeing Peter will make you do the same soon 😂
Same 😂🤦🏻♂️
This is one of the best formats for tutorials I have seen in a long time! Straight to the point, fast-paced but you can still follow everything you say, great examples, just everything is well balanced. I wish these tutorials had been there when I started photography. Great job!!!
Loved it too!
I’m not even sure anymore, does peter like coffee or photography more?
yes
Ben Mantel both hehe
Lmao 🤣 I'm not sure he can even answer that
Yes!
He already answered that question, he said he would 100% give up coffee.
The amount of creativity that has gone into making this tutorial dramatic yet deliver what it's supposed to is just mind blowing! 😍
Loved the editing on this one. The way the radial blur is explained by superimposing it on the entire video. The effort there to give that oomph to the viewer’s mind and actually nudge the audience to try the filter. INCREDIBLE.
For those editing on a phone, in addition to Lightroom, I also use snapseed and there is an even better tool called Selection. If doesn't just select a round shape, but it selects a specific object or colour, which you can expand and lighten/darken/saturate/sharpen a particular object without doing the same to the background of it.
That's so helpful 😍
I find Snapseed so much better than lightroom on the phone. It has a few caveats compared to editing on computer but I enjoy it when I want to edit something quick, like a photo people are only going to watch on the phone
The problem with Snapseed is that it is EXTREMELY slow and resource heavy though. I'm on Samsung Galaxy S10+ and my phone almost overheats, and freezes at points in Snapseed (Editing RAW photos though - may have an impact)
@@Luggruff Really? I have never had that problem with a Samsung Galaxy A6+
straight to the point. no bs. easy and simple! I wish more people were like Pete
This is actually unreal, I just started using LR in the last few weeks, but since I am just getting into photography my lighting is pretty bad, this will definitely help dim some areas of the photos to keep things in one tone and is very helpful for isolating certain things in the photos. Thanks for this Pete, I definitely appreciate this
Recently learned this as well, can't stop using it on everything.
Pete's b roll has basically passed beyond criticism.
Dude you crushed this! Kept my attention every second
best intro/segway ever. no bs no ads just straight to the point.
love it.
I love that you touched on this. I started photography a little over a year ago and initially knew something was missing. One day I stumbled upon masking and it changed everything instantly. Photos I was previously just tossing out because something wasn’t quite right on them were now ones I was keeping because I could adjust that thing without adjusting the whole image. Such a powerful tool!
DAMN that was some beautiful footage at the beginning! SLIDER ACTION. Also I am fan of the glasses.
I love Peter's channel. I've learnt so much that I'm trying to introduce into my own content from both his and Matti's channels.
Rob Sambles same here 😀😀
@@JordanPritchard 🔥
I knew about this and have used it a million times, but this type of content makes you stand out. Didn't stretch this to 10 minutes for ads, just trying to teach us one of the best essential tools.
Love when you show the before photos on your videos really gives it perspective
I sometimes just take a step back and realize how well done most of his videos are. Like this one for example: 4 mins, nice graphics, background music, two sets, proper lighting, sick b-roll in the beginning...
I love this short, really practical format for tutorials
You like this tutorial and visit my channel▶️🌻
I love you
@@andrewcarnegie5342 ☺️👍
Love PM tutorials! Simple, ingenious, and make a world of difference when you know them. Thanks Peter.
This video just changed my whole game up. I'm hitting up photos new and old in lightroom and what a difference it makes!
YOU USED THE PROBE LENS IN THE B ROLL!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I don't know why but I just got so excited about that 😅
P.S. How's the knee Pete?
P.P.S. Damn I have more likes on this comment than subs lol
Raya Kee I have seen ur comment on Mattis vid lol coincidence I liked it by the way
@@jamesdonnelly8369 😉😉coincidence? i think not :)
I saw it too 😅
i got really excited abt it too😂
I'm hoping he talks about that lens on the channel at some point. Fun lens. 👍
Thanks for this.
I love you Peter , been learning a lot , now I've started my company because of your inspiration , now I'm doing photography, graphic design etc .
You are my hero Peter
Loving the new background Pete! And great use of the Macro Probe style tube lens into the coffee! Keep up the awesome work!
man we need more videos. I'm dying without Peter Mckinnon tutorials rn. even if i know some of them its just refreshing listening to you sensei
How have I been using Lightroom for a year and never seen this before??? so useful 👌🏼💯
come on ....... LOL for real now ?
lol
You kidding
might be because i usually use it on my phone 😅
@@rebeccabrodkey definitely why, its too obvious on desktop
This video is so true. In the last couple months I've felt my editing has really improved. And a big reason for that improvement seems to be my utilization of radial masks to make the intended areas of a photo pop.
Thank you so much for this! I've only recently come across your channel and I've been watching all your videos on editing. They're so useful! You're not only a brilliant photographer but also a wonderful teacher with a killer sense of humour!
Brilliant video Peter. Here's my suggestion for a video: "A Day In Lockdown Life" with Peter McKinnon, but purely cinematic B-Roll and no talking.
I think that’s the closest we’ll ever get to a two minute Tuesday
By far one of my favorite intros to a video you've done.
Def gonna be using all those coffee brewing tips from now on.
Love how Lightroom mimics the film darkroom. Darkroom work was one of my favorite parts of college.
Has Squarespace Pete has been promoted to doing short tutorials? 😂
Yeah Man ! That got me so confused haha
apparently he somehow found his way out of the basement lmao
Just what i was bout to say
Stefan Gere I was thinking the same thing
Stefan Gere looks like it 😂😂 they are blue light glasses to help staring at PC all day
Damn! ... For a second you'd think some big assed movie studio shot that intro not just a very capable TH-camr... Seriously man you take this whole TH-camr business thing to the next level and it is Shockingly stunning 👌💯👍
Thank you Peter - been soooooo stale lately. Just what I needed to really enjoy editing my sailing images - plus you just reminded me how powerful and beautiful photography truly is. Cheers, Gavin
These seem easy (and shorter) for you to do as a creator and they are powerful, impactful and to the point for your target demographic of who you serve. Keep em coming, I think your audience would love a bunch of these. I know I do!
Love the slider shots.. err.. is there any? 😂😍
PETER! I need a TUTORIAL on how you do the dope overlay effects just as animating the radial mask! HOW?!
That's After Effects for ya :)
That’s a simple shape layer in after effects
I wanna know that too. How does he achieve that darker look!!!
Just getting back from Washington State with tons of amazing landscape and portrait photos and thanks to this video I now have an awesome tool to use in all my photos, thank you.
YES! I just learned to do this from someone else like two months ago and it's totally changed my editing game (still n00b, but a little less now). I finally understood how to make my subjects really stand out in a shot. Before, I just thought there was something I was still missing or not understanding how to do properly at all with light and focus when I was actually taking the picture.
Yeaaaa you "gotta Feather it, Brother!" - Rest In Power Fed Smoker.
Love seeing fellow YMH fans in a place you might not expect 🤘🏻
REST IN PROTO
This is THE tutorial I've been searching ages for to get this effect in Lightroom! 🔥
Now I need to find how to do this with Final Cut Pro at 3:06 🎥 If anyone knows how, please let me know 🙏🏼
I rely on a lot of tutorials and these kinds of videos. Really appreciate your time here. Thanks for the explanation.
Ahhh so this is how people's photos look so focused. Thank you, good sir!
Hahah I was waiting for the “real” PM to come out and say something like “hey impostor, why are you here again!?” And talk about square space stuff... all because of the glasses
You're not the only one. I thought that too. HA
Leave the editing tutorial aside...there was so much to learn from only in the first minute of the video!!
Yo, just wanted to give you a big ole thank you!
Photography has always been another passion of mine, I have seen most of ,if not all of, your videos at this point.
I finally found a great deal on an old camera that's working great. It's not a full frame but an old Cannon EOS T3i, I believe it's enough to get me back to the basics and diving deeper into something I love and have always wanted to get a handle one! All that so say, it's your passion and excitement for this craft that got me excited about it again, so Thank You!!!
Man, how this guy fits all that info into one four minute video so seamlessly is just incredible!
It would be perfect if you could also tell us all the settings you did for this photo.
When you wear glasses, I feel it's squarespace Pete.
Missed your tutorials too... you have such great energy and oh so clear in the delivery. Great! Thanks Peter!
Straight to the point. Precise. Accurate. Clearly presented, like you always do ... congrats master
Don’t forget about the range mask within the other masks you talked about.
whats a range mask
wasiq ali it basically controls what the mask affects. Like only certain dark or bright regions (luminance mask) and/ or a certain colour (colour mask)
Thanks for the tip 😀
Range mask slays!
Video: ended quickly
Me: “Dafuq, it’s not Tuesday?!” *while looking at watch
Gotta admit I checked to see if it was 2 minutes 😂
ayyyyyyyy blockhead!!!
Stuart Hunt - Ayyyyyyy!
Bro same thing... he could have done it
What's up block head how's the Harley?
I discovered this tool by accident a few months ago and it really makes the difference. Now I use it for every portrait photo I edit
Hey Peter thanks for always showing how quick and simple these tools are to use!! It helps to have these quick videos to help make even the most daunting tasks seem not so bad lol
Great video, but the glasses made me think this was SquareSpace Pete the entire time!
1:29 this may be my favourite frame ever
duuuuuude. This was great! Short, sweet, straight to the point. enthusiasm through the roooooof! loved it mate! I truly enjoy seeing you progress your creative vision! thanks!
Always love the chemistry between coffee and you !!
And yes,yes you're the best out there, not as a photographer also as a great human ♥
That “see ya” at the end sounded like Jared Polin. 🤣
When I saw you wearing your glasses for a split second I expecting you to tell us about square space lol
I don't understand how you always up the quality in your videos every time! Amazing as always!
Thank you for the tip. I edited a few shots today and figured I'd try this technique. WOW. They looked so much better. GREAT tip and video! I appreciate all you teach in your videos. It's really helped me step up my game.
I’ve never clicked so fast on a Video 🔥💪🏼
Same
😂 right?
This isn't just any tutorial, this is a Peter Mckinnon Tutorial.
this is one of peter’s best videos. quick, clever, and informative.
Hell yes. I’m quite new to LR & PS, and your tips/tricks are so easy to understand. These will transform my photography up another notch. THANK YOU.!
Where can I find this intro music, it's so good
watching
Epidemic music
The name of the song is "blues or something like that" by tiger blood jewel
Pete, your slogan should be: "How do I do this a little bit more dramatic? "
So simple and yet that’s all we need from you! Your the man bro! We just enjoy seeing your content bro never stop✊🏼
the new background is sooooo dope. it feels like the best of the old and the new
Best tool in Lightroom
* looked at the thumbnail
Me an intelectual: coffee pot?
Dang, 2 minute Tuesday anyone 😂😂
Keep coming back to this, absolutely killer🔥
Straight to the point while still making it interesting. I'm impressed, thank you for the tips!
Anyone got a link to these glasses?! 😅
Without coffee, we wouldn't even of edited anything!
the sad troooth
The most simple tool in Lr explained in the absolute complex video. Also, the probe was just perfect bro! Keep smashing the Creation, Pete
your furniture and house just looks so aesthetic and great for photography
So much to the point that i feel uncomfortable, did someone piss you off or something?
I thought people already knew this 😂
I knew this... but doesn’t mean everyone else knows just because you do
Love the Radial tool! I have been using it in the majority of my photos for a while now.
Great tips!
Happy Teacher’s Day, Peter! 🥳 thank you so much for your contribution to the community. I’ve learnt a lot from you! 🙏
Never got that close to 2 minutes and its not even tuesday.
1:55 I feel being watched by cameras
I love how you bring that caffeinated level of energy to your videos :)
Probably the best non two minute Tuesday I have ever witnessed. I learned so much...may be sending a video your way Pete
It doesn’t matter how much you try to hide it by putting super cool coffee brewing b-roll. We know you drank instant and that’s a sin.
Love the background setting you got there dude! Love the office set up. You’re the MAN!!!!
Great video! It's been a while since I watched any of your videos. I'm glad to see you're still putting out great content. Thanks!!!
Sneaking in the literal directions to make a great pour over in a Lightroom tool tutorial. I like your style!
you are amazing, your tutorials, your energy and the videos are amazing, haven't found such great content that will teach me taking my photography to the next level, thank you Peter!!!
Agreed. I have been using especially on family portraits to throw a subtle highlight on each face, especially kids and babies.
This might be one of your best, Pete! B-roll was insane... and I learned something useful for today. Thank you!
Love the simple but effective tips. Never stop learning
