I’m a plant based newbie and have learned a lot from these two gorgeous ladies! I received the results of my latest cholesterol test today. Total Chol: 149 from 277. LDL 92 from 158, all within only 2 months. Still need to get down a bit further, but thank you Esselstyn family for showing us how to do it!!

I have all of Ann, Jane snd Rip’s recipes/cookbooks. Such an inspiring family. My husband needed to reverse his heart disease; following Dr E’s book to the letter, with me following Ann, Jane and Rip, he has done just that in 13 months. Thank you for your great work, inspiring so many.

Just made it! I used date syrup instead of maple syrup!! It’s amazing! I also only had ACV and no white vinegar. I am eating it without frosting!! Incredible!

A combination of AP flour and oat flour is really good. I've only just "discovered" oat flour and I'm an experienced cook and baker with 62 years experience! I'm having fun just experimenting with it right now, but having worked a lot with coconut flour and almond flour, I knew going in that oat flour would be a bit tricky. A great cup of coffee does the trick of getting the baked goods down "in a most delightful way," as the song from "Mary Poppins" goes.

Surprised you get so much done in a shoot, you two are hysterical, and probably keep everyone including your Essy, in stitches always. Thank you both, and the good doctor too, you've enriched my life so greatly. Discovered you back in the beginnings of TTAC, and have learned so much. You make this lifestyle fun and attractive, while, at the same time emphasizing the importance and value of
caring for the temple that God has given us to live in.
love and blessings to you all.

Chocolate Sheet cake is our family’s tradition! We call it “cowboy cake”. I have no idea why, other than that’s what the recipe handed down is titled. I’m thrilled to try your plant only version. I’m the only vegan in my family so it will be fun to make this at Christmas and see what everyone thinks!

I have managed to cobble together a vegan version. BTW I am gonna be that girl.. Its Pah- Kahn for pecans. A word derived from a American Indigenous word for pecans or nuts in general.

    at Christmas time
and this looks ideal for my contribution
though I think I might not make a sheet cake
but a double layer cake with the tofu cream in the middle
and the cream and walnuts on top.

I made this recipe exactly as instructed but it came out very thin and I had to bake it for close to 40 min. It was still very good though and I loved that it wasn’t too sweet. As a type 2 diabetic my blood sugar didn’t go too high after enjoying this treat. Thank you both for sharing your wonderful recipes.

Texas sheet is one of my favorite cakes ever. When I first got the recipe around 40ish years ago we made it at least once a week. My cousin always had the best recipes to share. I don’t use nuts in mine though. And since I am a Texan, I’ll just go ahead and call it by it’s Texan name.
I’m always looking out for things my son can eat, he’s been a vegan (99.9%) for around 10 years or so.

Looks amazing. When I'm finished my 40 day fast and have transitioned back into whole plant foods, I'll give this a whirl.
Here's a simple very easy trick for forming a design in the frosting: (first of all flip the cake onto a flat platter) Then, after you've spread the frosting over the bottom, that is now the top of the cake, take a teaspoon or tablespoon and draw straight lines diagonally across the cake. This will form nice even furrows diagonally across the cake. Next, using a butter knife, lightly drag it across the furrows diagonally in the opposite direction of the furrows making diagonal lines about an inch to 1½" apart. As the knife moves through the furrows, it drags some of the frosting with it, which creates a very interesting pattern. It looks so pretty, you might want to skip the nuts, but I guess that would break the tradition of the sheet cake.
I love watching you guys. You're both so funny and always add a great deal of cheer to my day. Anne, you are such an inspiration for me to stick to whole plant foods SOS free. You're bursting with energy and humor, which just shows how energizing the whole plant foods diet is. Thank you so much for the generosity you both expend to teach this otherwise daunting task of learning the whole plant foods lifestyle. I truly appreciate your efforts.

Wait a second, you can't steal a whole cake just bc you changed the recipe 🤣 The end result is a Texas sheet cake though the ingredients are healthy. There's that proud ownership you mentioned...but that describes Texans about pretty near everything Texan 😘 My grandma is basically the queen of Texas sheet cakes. She has made very many of these for weddings and parties and just because throughout the years. We put pecan bits in the frosting and pecan halves on top. She likes to put frosted grapes and strawberries on top. I can't wait to try this healthy version and serve it to my grandma/queen to see what she thinks!

I wished they had cut into this for taste and texture. I've made other baked good and w oat flour came out like a dense sponge.

I’m just getting up for work so I’m enjoying with a cup of coffee, but I’m wondering if the intent was to drop at 4pm EST so as to capture all US time zones. That said, many countries are up ( globally) and well into their day.
