Sleep really is the key to optimal health. So many people neglect this in the hustle and bustle of life.

I'm literally struggling this week forgetting everything because my sleep scheduale is constantly changing between a third shifter and first shifter and dealing with 3 kids 😅😅 they think I'm sick when I get to sleep and will sleep for 12 hours. Sleep is important though I agree!!

@@danimk08 L-tryptophan and taurine are two amino acids that help sleep. Also Omega 3's, B vitamins, D3, K2, Potassium, and Magnesium. Get exercise and exposure to sun or full spectrum light for at least 30 minutes a day. No electronics 2 hours before sleep. Take a warm bath/shower. Deep breathing for 10 minutes when you lie down to sleep.

I'm in my last year of studying nutrition. My boyfriend for the last 4 years wakes up 3 to 4 times a night to pee. I just couldn't get my head around it and understand why. I'm going tout make him try this out. I can't understand how I have done so much research and missed this. Thanks so much, I will keep anyone reading this updated!

I got 4 hours today, first time in a while that went outside while being tired and got early sunlight to reset my circadian rhythm and this video popped up. Thank god he mentioned hot flashes and the solution which is Iodine and Vit E. I get them all the time because I get lack of sleep and it gives me anxiety and then stress and then the cycle keeps going. Much love to you Dr. Berg.

I have a very hard time falling asleep at night. I've had this problem for 45 years. But if I take a nap, I'm asleep quickly and get a great nap. If I take a sleeping pill every night, I fall asleep within a half hour and sleep great. when I don't take a pill; it takes a long time to get to sleep, and then I wake up several times during the night. I'm going to try the b1.

A side note about restaurants... Not only do they fry everything in Canola oil or some other transfat vegetable oil, but most other foods are washed, boiled in or cooked using Tap Water... All over North America tap water is filled with all sorts of chemicals. Those chemicals may be throwing one's body out of whack... Nuf said :-)

You are absolutely right. Where you eat matters. My mom's tenant has nightmares every single time he has a specific local pizzeria's pie. I always thought it was just funny, but, I then discovered personally this was true. Here it's less the quality but the composition- it's high fat, white flour, no vegetables. This happened to me from those fast food burgers. It is less true when I eat a plain salad at the diner.

Last year I had over 250 nights of waking up with leg cramps. The length and intensity were both reduced by cal/mag and water, as were the number of cramping events every night. In December I got a scratch on my left calf and I noticed that, after 3 weeks it still hadn't completely healed. Like for some reason my legs were healing more slowly. I began to test myself for sensitivity and blood flow on my toes and feet. I didn't find any such problem that might indicate a cause. Early February I spoke with 2 health professionals, one a physical therapist and the other a P. A. The consensus was that I should do more keeping my legs straight when I'm sitting and when I'm lying down, especially for sleep. This advice has reduced the number of leg cramps to less than 5 in the following 4 months! Whoa! And I have noticed that even when I drink less water or if I forget to take magnesium. Plus, I have completely stopped taking the calcium supplement, aside from the little I get on my daily multivitamin. This has completely shocked me, that I've been thinking all wrong about leg cramps, all this time. I'm not saying that you're information is wrong. But for me, it is. I've been watching your videos for years and your information has helped me understand how my body works and how to do better with proper nutrients. Thank you for being such a great source of quality health information. A few weeks ago I heard you talking about vitamin B1, thiamine which could help with minimizing waking up during the night and falling back to sleep faster. I started taking 500mg of thiamine last week and I am only waking up once a night now compared to being awake from one to three hours almost every night. Best advice ever!

One of the most common causes is the food that you usually eat during the day, eliminate carbohydrates a little especially after 4pm, you should also expose yourself a little to sunlight, eliminate caffeine, nicotine, and also separate from home appliances such as TV, Phone computer Check your blood and regulate all minerals like potassium, and magnesium, and control your blood sugar.

I recommend using a CES device (it influences the type of brain waves you want, either for sleep DELTA, concentration BETA, also there’s alpha and theta. I use OASIS PRO, it has a 100z which helps with unwanted thoughts OCD etc. you plug it to ur ears and if you use DELTA, u slowly get sleepy and fall asleep. 100hz also raises serotonin

Thank you, Dr. Berg! Seems a lot of us are having trouble *staying* asleep.. Thanks to you, I added magnesium l-threonate which now helps me fall asleep, taking care of my anxiety! 🙌 However, even adding calcium (and potassium and additional magnesium) a week ago still hasn’t taken care of the leg and foot cramps and spasms that either awaken me night-after-night, or keep me awake. How much is enough or too much? I’m very interested in your thoughts as to whether or not the RDA’s of these-and of other minerals and vitamins-are really enough to sustain good health (rather merely keep us alive). Thank you very much for sharing your expertise with us every day! ! You must put in a TON of work doing this, and you are appreciated! 😀

Another subject for scrutiny could be electromagnetic fields:
    -wireless digital radiation,
    -distortions in 50/60Hz AC wave,
    - wiring errors
    -grounding errors
    -smart meters
-strong magnetostatics in the heating systems.
    As well as:
    -herbicides and chemical fertilizers
-heavy metals in the food AND WATER SUPPLY, especially ALUMINIUM. Then aluminium filters are used in water treatment plants.
