Red Line Paul that would work on replacing the bad valve and valve stem seals but the cam is supposed to be installed and torqued down before the cam followers are installed. the special tool uses the cam to push the valve spring down enough to slip the cam followers in place.
J.C. SMITH PROJECTS I was referring to the broken exhaust studs. I do that same thing when there's no welder to remove exhaust studs. There are videos on TH-cam but I learn that trick from a old man and also was told use candle wax remove stuck bolts and nuts with a propane torch to lose them up.
new subscriber...too bad you can't use the followers & adjusters that came with the salvagable cam...is there a wear pattern at the valve stem? first time l'm ever seeing a valve train like this

you can use the welded washer and nut trick with a mug welder. we used that trick when I worked at Ford back in day.
