    Sounds awesome but you need to take that left speaker and flip it so the smaller tweet is on the inside matching the right side

    James, I’ve looked every where. You seem to have found the best fitting one I’ve seen. Do you feel the risers where key to getting it to fit the way it did? I think I’m going to go with this style of ferring.

    Do you need an Amp to power the speakers or does it drain the battery at all? Or will it take a toll on my stator?

    • @Jadams1911
      @Jadams1911  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The radio will power the speakers,.
      an amp only makes them louder.
      I use a jenson marine radio that draws no power when the key is off.
      Lights are hard on road stars that are older than 2004. Radios don't draw enough power to be a problem even on older road stars.

    I can't see why so many have to use an added amp to be able to hear the music at 75 mph. I have a cheap Boss radio off Amazon (paid about $30 for it) that has 60 watts per channel and I can hear it plenty loud and clear, without the volume turned very high. Maybe you need more power for those Polk speakers everyone uses? I have some cheap $45 Pioneer speakers and they sound great at any speed.

      higher RMS speakers sometimes need an amp to reach their potential

    did you use any rubber washers to help eliminate any vibration/wear with metal on fiberglass?

    • @Jadams1911
      @Jadams1911  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I didn't use any rubber damper. I just wanted it tight so it wouldn't shake.

    James can you hear the music at 70+mph.I'm ordering the stealth batwing for my v star 1300.If you can hear it at high speed i'll get the same speakers in raido.Thanks Dave.

      once I added an amp I can crank the volume and I can hear it at 70 mph fine. but once you get off the highway and pull up to a light the stereo the crazy loud with these speakers. lol

    I like your videos!
    I have two road stars 1700 one is 04 other is 06 and i hope there is no much difference from 1600 because i want to do some work on my carburetor.

    • @Jadams1911
      @Jadams1911  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +001MostWanted They're both carbs bikes, basically the same. The Manifold on the 1700 is a little different and won't fit the 1600 also the jets inside the carbs are different sizes. but everything else is the same. You should have no problem.

      i was also wondering did you put a new wind screen on the faring or is that the one it came with? last do u wish you went with 6.5'' or 5.25'' speakers insted of the 6x9's? jw for sound quality while riding. i really appreciate how fast you replied last time thanks so much. last this any way i can get a ling on wear u bought the faring from?

    • @Jadams1911
      @Jadams1911  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bought a used 14 inch wind screen and cut it down to 9 inches, it only cost me $15 as to $89.
      I like the look of the 4- 5.25 speakers but the 6x9 sounds better to me.
      I didn't like the look of the 2 big 6.5 speakers. Anytime you ride over 80mph you can barely make out the music at 65 it sounds good but I still perfer my ear buds under my helmet so I can hear at any speed.
      I bought my faring from USA Trailer Store

    how did you wire it into the bike?

    • @Jadams1911
      @Jadams1911  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I ran the wires from the battery under my tank to the front of the bike and used a pigtail hanging from the faring so I could unplug it if I need remove the faring.
