I honestly think as long as you eat well, drink water, and use a cleanser and toner once a day (at night after the day is over) your skin will naturally do its thing
Especially with teens! Acne as a teenager is usually caused by excessive oil production from eating unhealthy foods and your skin compensating for overly dry skin! I stopped eating super unhealthy, and my skin is looking way better!
I’m just gonna be real. I tried the 10 step. Never worked for me - I had horrific red raw skin covered in bumps. Ironically to achieve “glass skin” , I literally wash my face with dr bronner bar soap, and then apply the InstaSkincare brand vitamin c serum. Total cost is like … $14 total for all the products. Literally these routines HURT MY SOUL
2:45 Girll we share the same fav oil cleanser, this particular one has been doing god’s work for my skin and i have oily skin, i recently just bought 3 new bottles
Ever since i went to a dermatologist and they told me that "less is more," it really made me think about the loads of product thats peddled to us. I have a gentle cleanser, shea butter, and sunscreen. I could get retinol, but it's not a necessity. I don't wear makeup, so a majority of skin care products aren't needed. Seriously, if you can, GO TO A DERMATOLOGIST!
I'm avoiding tiktok like the plague (but also bc I'm autistic and it's extremely overwhelming to me personally to get shoved a bunch of videos in my face) but ofc a lot of people reupload tiktoks to yt and yt shorts and I also fell into the "multiple steps skincare trend" when I've for years used a very simple routine from a brand called Dahl (that I feel like NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT). Because while it had indeed helped me there was still something missing in my routine because I've suffered from redness for years! so I got a 7 step routine and I BROKE OUT SO BAD. My skin got so extremely dry and I got some kind of allergic reaction that made me feel physically ILL. After going to the doctors I got prescribed a 15% azelaic acid and combining that with a snail serum has literally been like MAGIC for me! Nothing has helped keeping my skin so hydrated as a snail serum and the azelaic acid literally gets rid of acne, any kind of redness, irritation and hyperpigmentation.
See I've been wanting to try dry brushing, but I have never seen anyone with sensitive or eczema-prone skin before say anything about their experience with dry brushing. 1 trend I will never hop on now
See I don’t have eczema but I have sensitive dry skin. I tried dry brushing not even with a bristle type brush but a silicone one. I did it too rough and messed up my skin so bad it took a year to fully heal my skin barrier. It was like little red itchy bumps on my face and chest that looked like a rash almost. So that’s my experience with it 😭
I have eczema and dry patches on my legs and elbows I recently got into dry brushing after a failed attempt and so far it’s doing very well but I did wait for 2 years until I got my flares under control and moisturizing my skin like crazy! When I first tried it it was painful and made my flares 10x worse and I had dry patches in places I’ve never got it’s literally an experiment.😭
Sensitive, dry, acne prone skin here 🙋🏻♀️ slugging worked amazing for me for like a week and then I suffered the worst breakouts of my life. I’ve really been enjoying skin basting, which is essentially the same thing but with diaper rash cream. Not only does it lock in moisture but the zinc helps with redness/irritation. I use it 1-2 nights a week and couldn’t recommend it more!
i just discovered you, i'd like to say one you are literally so gorgeous i could not keep my eyes off of you oh my gosh, and also i love ur channel smm!!
as a person with sensitive skin, I prefer to visit a dermatologist periodically in order to change my routine. For example, when I was dealing with acne two years ago I was recommended to use a very strong product, which now wouldn't work because my skin healed, so I changed my routine. All dermatologists I went to never gave me confusing prescriptions, they always told me to keep it simple and listed a maximum of three products to use. Therefore, If you really want great advice, ask a dermatologist and explain to them what your skin needs. :D
ooouuu never ever do vaseline slugging 😭 it's so bad, yes, it'll cause clogged pores and some other issues like under eye milia etc. also i'm so glad you talked about this, the overconsumption of skincare products is insane
THE ALGORITHM KNEW WHAT IT WAS DOING GIRLLL!!!!! I'm so glad I stumbled upon this before spending my christmas money at my local Ulta, cause omfg when i tell you i too am dry, SENSITIVE, and EXTREMELY ECZEMA PRONE GHAAAAAAAAAAAD 😭😭 Like honestly tho, this video was so helpful thank you!!! THIS VIDEO IS LITERALLY FOR ME. Like as a girl with sensitive oily dry combination skin WITH ezcema, all I am living with the knowledge you are dropping in this video. YOU ATE.
SOME DIY like an oil scalp/hair treatment, or shea butter body cream is fine. BUT some of these weird tips are just so damaging to skin barrier, scalp etc.
great idea for a video❤ maybe slugging didn't work for you because the type of breakouts you get are caused by bacteria. like benzoyl peroxide works by killing bacteria and trapping the bacteria under Vaseline or cicaplast might make it worst🤷🏾♀️
I'm a teen with oily acne prone skin and one product that has helped my so much in just a few days is the mediheal madecassoside blemish pads, hope this helps yall
the best skincare tip i have is use whats best for YOUR SKIN not whatever’s popular. everyones skin is different. it doesn’t matter if what works best for u is a $10 knock off from a discount drug store. if it works it works 🤷♀️
Retinol for me. It didn't ruin my skin, but I definitely learned quickly that retinol was just too much. Made my few acne spots worse. Been keeping it simple with a mixture of natural stuff and a select few CeraVe products. CeraVe has been the best for my oily skin, while not breaking the bank.
girl, I screamed when you brought up the African sponge because that’s what I use for my body and it works wonders. The way that I’ve learnt the best skin care for my face is listening to what my face likes for example niacinamide does not work for my skin. It always clogged my pores but I use Alpha arbutin and hyaluronic acid because my skin is oily and it works so much better. I also use Neutrogena hydro boost water gel which hydrates my face but does not clog my pores. I will always listen to my skin before I listen to anyone else’s advice. great video girlie ❤
I rarely do skincare and when I do it's when I'm in a mental state where I need to do a little self care, so skincare for me is moreso a mental health pick me up because it gets me to do something rather than for the effects that it actually has on my skin. My skin is not perfect but I would say it's very low maintenance (I'm so grateful.) Additionally I don't have any money to be spending on skincare products. Depending on my mood I'll either cleanse my face with a dove bar of soap, head and shoulders the shampoo (if my face feels grimy, and I heard the zinc content is good for skin, but idrk😅,) or African black soap, all in the shower. Then I'll literally just use Shea butter body lotion (unscented) on my face because I dont see how there could be a difference between that and like another hydrating product (this is now done out the shower.) And since I usually shower/do my 'skincare' at night, I'll do a thin layer of Vaseline overnight. I don't understand the difference between 'slugging' and just putting on a thin layer of Vaseline, a little goes a long way and it just seems wasteful. Nonetheless, I have to say that my skin always feels the most refreshed and absolute best when I use the African soap and vaseline.
the worst one that got me was bubble 😭 it said oily skin so I thought it was good but it made me break out and made my skin irritated 😔 ended up going back to my tride and true cerave salicylic.
I agree. I've used the same products for years and generally don't deviate. I know what works for me and thats all I need. It's saved me alot of money.
Okay, for all my girlys out there who spend so much money on makeup remover, and/or wear waterproof mascara, JUST USE COCONUT OIL it literally works so well, gets all your makeup off, and its really gentle on your skin. After, just use your normal water based cleanser and you're all done! Lemme know if this works for any of you !💗💗
I watched a video earlier TODAY that said to sleep in a thick cicaplast mask for barrier repair. I have acne-prone, sensitive, dry yet very oily skin…this would be a disaster
At this point, the only active I use is a retinoid. The rest of my routine is super simple. Oil cleanser only when I wear makeup, foaming cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. That's it. My skin was the worst when I was buying into trends.
I know I'll get a bit of hate for this but the Cetaphil face wash never worked for me, had me breaking out bad, also cause I have sensitive skin but for some people, it must be good and working but for me it didn't. So all my sensitive skin girlies who haven't actually used it yet, or are thinking too, then please think well first tho...cause there can be other good face washes out there😘
I won't give you any hate...because I despise Cetaphil, lol. There is something about them and CeraVe that make me irrationally angry and I think it's because I always see people claim that products from both companies are so gentle and safe for sensitive skin, and yet anytime I have used a product from either brand, I have been left with burning, irritated skin.
I tried Vaseline slugging a week back and it didn’t work for me since it’s winter..I always use it for my chapped lips also it was alright when I used it around my mouth area so I decided to apply it all over my face but in small amounts I ended up getting rough small bumps below my eyes and my cheeks area felt dry even though I layer the vaseline on top of my moisturizer I can feel the texture on my face just by touching
People in general are using WAY too many products on their skin, damaging their skin barrier. A cleanser appropriate for your skin type(am/pm) and spf (am) and a moisturizer (dry skin/pm) are a yes. Anything beyond that, check with a dermatologist, not some paid influencer on sm.
I recently got a chemical allergy panel from my allergist, and it helped narrow down my skin issues drastically. People are really out here just slapping anything on their faces.
That one girl must have lost something in translation because the 'seven toner' application method trend was supposed to be applying ONE toner in seven layers - not seven different toners omg noooo
I have sensitive oily/acne prone skin thats super reactive as well. I can get a chemical burn from unscented "gentle" soap 😭. I just stick to the basics now. Those tik tok trends/natural remedies destroyed my skin barrier in the past. I still have acne i just realized its something im just going to have to deal with. :(
as someone with dry, sensitive and eczema prone skin too, i tend to struggle with slugging, wanted to ask other besties with the same skin type, is this a struggle you face too?
Bruh I tried dry brushing once and my skin started turning red and burning like crazy. I had to sit soaked in aloe Vera gel to make it stop lol Never again
I totally get it, Girl! I have neurodermatitis since early childhood and there for very sensitiv and dry skin. I also have a problem with getting my water in, which only complicates it... I have learned to mistrust most companies, even the ones that seen so professional. And you know... often there are substances in the products that irritate my skin after one try. I'm talkinv perfum, alcohol, ... (btw most shampoos are the absolut horror for me, cause they inclute alcohol, perfum, silicons and sulfates. At this Point there is only !ONE! shampoo that has none of these things. I live in Germany btw.) Then I found, that there are apps that can tell you if there is any type of substance in a certain product that is risky or even dangerous for your skin. I personally use "Yuka" (which tells you in detail why something is not good for you and how high of a risk it is, by leveling it green (no risk), yellow (slight risk), orange (moderate risk) and red (high risk). It then give the product a rating von 0 to 100 points.). I have no idea if "Yuka" is available in other countries (no add btw, just my personal opinion of this app), but I am sure there should be alternatives. You would be surprised on how different each product is. Even if it has the same name and company, some products are below 30 points and some reach over 90 points. Its crazy... You cannot trust a brand name at all. This way I only buy products that have the lowest chance of damaging my skin, by buying only 90+ point products. I noticed that I was pretty alone with using apps like this, so maybe it is helpful to some of you. Good Luck and a lovely day! Tyra

I only dry brush on my legs
Girl you're so gorgeous and the lip combo and outfit is eatinggg
Sensitive, dry, acne prone skin here 🙋🏻♀️ slugging worked amazing for me for like a week and then I suffered the worst breakouts of my life. I’ve really been enjoying skin basting, which is essentially the same thing but with diaper rash cream. Not only does it lock in moisture but the zinc helps with redness/irritation. I use it 1-2 nights a week and couldn’t recommend it more!
Slugging makes me red and bumpy
i just discovered you, i'd like to say one you are literally so gorgeous i could not keep my eyes off of you oh my gosh, and also i love ur channel smm!!
as a person with sensitive skin, I prefer to visit a dermatologist periodically in order to change my routine. :D
Girl thank you 🙏 finally somebody who is not lying and recommending products that are gonna leave my sensitive skin dying
Love ur videos 💜💜💜
babes i love her channel but that toner was her sponser and you can tell she hasnt used it either
you are SO gorgeous!!
ooouuu never ever do vaseline slugging 😭 it's so bad, yes, it'll cause clogged pores and some other issues like under eye milia etc.
also i'm so glad you talked about this, the overconsumption of skincare products is insane
Slugging weirdly cleared my skin slightly? Idk
It made me look slightly bumpy and red
THE ALGORITHM KNEW WHAT IT WAS DOING GIRLLL!!!!! I'm so glad I stumbled upon this before spending my christmas money at my local Ulta, cause omfg when i tell you i too am dry, SENSITIVE, and EXTREMELY ECZEMA PRONE GHAAAAAAAAAAAD 😭😭
Like honestly tho, this video was so helpful thank you!!! Keep doing what you do :))
I love ur content so much ur so authentic and funny
For winter, I’ve been cleansing with the Bioderma soothing cleansing; definitely a game changer for a sensitive skin girly. 💕
BUT some of these weird tips are just so damaging to skin barrier, scalp etc.
i love the clinique take the day off cleasing balm, its super gentle in the skin, i have dry and sensitive skin and works great on double cleasing
great idea for a video❤ maybe slugging didn't work for you because the type of breakouts you get are caused by bacteria. like benzoyl peroxide works by killing bacteria and trapping the bacteria under Vaseline or cicaplast might make it worst🤷🏾♀️
that would make soooo much sense, benzoyl peroxide saveeees my skin 🫶🏾
I'm a teen with oily acne prone skin and one product that has helped my so much in just a few days is the mediheal madecassoside blemish pads, hope this helps yall
The cosrx original clear pads are good too :)
the best skincare tip i have is use whats best for YOUR SKIN not whatever’s popular. everyones skin is different. it doesn’t matter if what works best for u is a $10 knock off from a discount drug store. if it works it works 🤷♀️
Retinol for me. It didn't ruin my skin, but I definitely learned quickly that retinol was just too much. Made my few acne spots worse. Been keeping it simple with a mixture of natural stuff and a select few CeraVe products. CeraVe has been the best for my oily skin, while not breaking the bank.
sis your glowing💜
skin cycling RUINED ME even though I did so much research , I know for some people it was a life-saver but girl, im never giving it another try
girl, I screamed when you brought up the African sponge because that’s what I use for my body and it works wonders.
I’m blessed that I don’t have blessed skin. I barely get acne and I’m sooo grateful 🙏
I know this is off topic but you are so freaking pretty
Vaseline messed up my SKINNNNN😫never again 😂
Same here 😭 but know I’m using the Bioderma Pink Cleanser, and as someone with oily-sensitive skin and rosacea, it’s been clearing up my skin A LOTT.
3:35 omg me too I've never seen anyone with eczema before!
Okay this is off topic but omg you look like a goddess 😻😻
I agree. I've used the same products for years and generally don't deviate. I know what works for me and thats all I need. It's saved me alot of money.
oh my gosh girlie, you're gorgeous!!!
I have similar skintype to you (eczema on face, dry & sensitibe) and the thought of triple cleansing terrifies me fr 💀
At this point, the only active I use is a retinoid. The rest of my routine is super simple. Oil cleanser only when I wear makeup, foaming cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. That's it. My skin was the worst when I was buying into trends.
9:25 i KNEWW tou were gonna say jamie she soo good i love her smm
I got those too i think
why didnt i find u earlier omg ur the best
People in general are using WAY too many products on their skin, damaging their skin barrier. A cleanser appropriate for your skin type(am/pm) and spf (am) and a moisturizer (dry skin/pm) are a yes. Anything beyond that, check with a dermatologist, not some paid influencer on sm.
I recently got a chemical allergy panel from my allergist, and it helped narrow down my skin issues drastically. People are really out here just slapping anything on their faces.
You should make a video rating fashion trends!❤
girl u are gorggggggg. amazing vid ;)
That one girl must have lost something in translation because the 'seven toner' application method trend was supposed to be applying ONE toner in seven layers - not seven different toners omg noooo
I just discovered you today, and I’m STAYING✨✨✨✨
YEYYY I FINALLY SEE SOMEONE WITH ECZEMA TOO!!!!!
u have got to start simple guys! get into the basics (water based cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen) first! see what your skin likes.
Yup😊
I have sensitive oily/acne prone skin thats super reactive as well. I can get a chemical burn from unscented "gentle" soap 😭. I just stick to the basics now. Those tik tok trends/natural remedies destroyed my skin barrier in the past. I still have acne i just realized its something im just going to have to deal with. :(
It hurts me to see them apply 10 skin care products at one time
omg yes ive been wanting an african net but i dont know where to buy an authentic one
as someone with dry, sensitive and eczema prone skin too, i tend to struggle with slugging, wanted to ask other besties with the same skin type, is this a struggle you face too?
i love ur videos !!
can you PLEASE make a skincare tutorial bc i also have sensitive dry skin (pretty pls)
i use that honey one! feels so good. i use it sparingly because i don’t want it to lose its magic 😢
I use hydro cortizone for my exzema and havent had a flare up in 4 years, same diet, same environment
That’s only on prescription though lol
Bruh I tried dry brushing once and my skin started turning red and burning like crazy. I had to sit soaked in aloe Vera gel to make it stop lol
Never again
Tyra
Yuka is a must for us sensitive girls! 🎀
You are gorgeous!!!
2 years.. 2 years I’ve been breaking out because of glow recipe 😭
Girl same I’m dry, sensitive but acne prone❤
effaclar duo spot treatment messed me uppp. omg my face swole overnight, it was horrible. i’ve been on my skincare thing for a minute and rly thought it would help..nope:0
I used to be really into Korean skincare and used to wash my face everyday. However, those products made me break out more so I switched my products and only washed my face 2 to 3 times a week. (Like a deep clean) and my face got so much better. 😂
" I sleep in it overnight " got me....
For my dry skin eczema prone skin i use the dokdo oil cleanser a toner and a barrier cream
When I was little I put toothpaste allllllll overrrrrr myyyyyy faceeeeee my eyessssss stungggggg
Dr. Vanita Rattan's channel changed my life.
Am I the only one who does overnight Vaseline slugging and it it WORKS for me? Idk why but it just does and my skin is just so smooth when I wake up
Love the content🙌✨
Girlies, I am struggling with hyperpigmentation . It’s not crazy but I do have a bit of discolouration in my mouth and chin area. Can someone please recommend me something? I’d really appreciate it. I have been struggling with it for years 😢❤
Try alpha arbutin serums , if doesn’t works, you can try Neoprosone tube for a very short time.
@@DearBill thank you ❤️
Azelic acid 15 percent. It helps even out skin tone but it’s very drying so you need a good moisturizer 🧴
please can you make a video about your teeth, they are so white oml i need to know ur routine !
Merry Christmas all!

as an oily acne prone girlie, my lifeline has been the sanrio x creme moisturizers. they smell heavenly and actually moisturize my skin. i ran out once and it was hell.
