The battledroids are actually perfect considering they're 6'3 in canon. Grievous on the other is definitely shorter. If you can get the model kit, please do so. It's perfect.

If you where to buy a general action figure, I would recommend bandi kit general grievous over this black series action figure. The bandai kit is a beautiful model and very detailed even though u have to build it. You also get to customize him with paint to make him have battle wear if you want to. I have no regrets with the model and it was worth the money. The only thing is, he a fragile, you can not mess around with him too much, since hes a model kit. I think Bandai kit did an awesome job with designing him and put some real love into him. On top of that Amazon recently put the kit in there store, so you dont have to buy it from a shady Japanese website. If the kit is too expensive then i also recommend a clone trooper or boba fett, these guys are just as good and are half the price, you get them on Amazon too.
basically if you just want something ready out of the box get the bs, if you don't mid a bit of extra work and you are not a hamhands get the model kit
Iker Muñoz Cano the most recent and upcoming releases from S.H.Figuarts have and will all have been from ROTS, like most recently Anakin, Obi-Wan, and then Dooku (next month) and Yoda later this August so it’s a strong possibility that they’ll be releasing him hopefully soon. And I can’t wait.
Honestly, in terms of 1/12th scale, the Bandai Model kit will the best Grievous we'll ever get only because of the organs and since he's incredibly light, you can pose him in plenty of stances that are going to be tough for heavy figures like this one and the Figuarts (if we ever get it).
For the price of him he'd need to be a pretty perfect figure for me to buy. I am a stickler for scale accuracy so I'll need to pass. He does need to be a little bigger to display correctly it looks like. Thanks for the review!
I knew it. Told people that Hasbro was going to screw the pooch on this figure and sure enough, they did. No organ sack, scale is way off, the weathering looks terrible, the cape is embarrassingly awful, no wrist swivel and to top all off many people have complained about super loose joints. Get the model kit.

Dude, I literally got my copy today! Nice! Such a great figure too! Tbh, I like both but even though the Black Series is a bit smaller, sometimes a bit too small, I still think it works. Also, my joints are still nice and tight for the most part, but the "Dog legs" should probably be a bit more snug on mine. Though it still hasn't caused any problems for me. (Hopefullythe it won't.) So I may just keep both for certain poses and pictures all together. Idk though. It depends how much I use the Bandai kit. Especially when the head is ridiculously loose just because I had to pop it off once because I forgot a piece... I definetly like the Black Series articulation, but when/if the SHF Grievous comes out, that may be my go to. But we'll see.

Seeing a lot of people in this comment section saying the scale was off, but it’s actually right on the money. The model kit, however, is too big, Grievous is not as tall as Chewbacca, never has been

Got my Grievous today from EE. Looks sweet. Have the Bandai one as well but Hasbro has done a great job. Nice to seperate his arms and hands and get his jacket off! Anywho...once again a great review

With him you need the Poseable stand I’m not sure of the name but it’s the one that has a base and a stand that can extend for jet back troopers but that stand comes with a piece with goes around the figures torso. Which keeps him from falling over.😁😁
I gave up on my only 3.75” General Grievous figure. He kept falling over (he has no articulation in the knees or ankles) and the lightsabers wouldn’t fit in his hands. He now lives in a tub.
I bought my grievous just yesterday and I believe I got a defect, his left hand peg is too big to go in the slot and his top left seems longer to a point the elbow peg won’t fit in without the hand peg lining up but other than that I personally loved this figure as a way to display a character who really deserves more love merchandise wise in my opinion
I got this Grievous and he is really cool. The only problem I have is the cape missing the symbol. I fixed that problem. What I did is drew the symbol on there with a paper to guide me.
Wow that comparison was what I was waiting for. Just finished the Bandai video. The lightsaber's weird scale bugs me, and the cape has nothing on the black series, but the scale difference! I'm 100% going model kit this time. Grevious has to have that height for maximum shelf presence. And the inner detail is great. Better arms, and personally I paint everything, even my Black Series; So a modular kit just makes that easier. Thanks for buying both so we only have to buy one Robo.
TBS Grievous is nice but after seeing all the reviews and the model kit comparisons, I believe with S.H. Figuarts most recent and future ROTS releases of Anakin, Obi-Wan, and now Dooku next month and Yoda this upcoming August, I’m definitely waiting and holding out for their General Grievous which looks bigger and more screen accurate like the model kit, but I may still grab this one just in case.
My Dorkside Grievous arrives tomorrow. After watching this review, I'm not very excited. Maybe it's the fact that I'm currently all in on Marvel/DC Mezco figures right now, but this Grievous feels very underwhelming imo. While I'm happy at the cloth goods attempt, the promo cape looked SO much better. Add in the loose joints and overall blandness to this figure and I'm kinda regretting paying nearly $40 for him when it's all said and done. Who knows, maybe having him in hand tomorrow will change my mind a bit. The worst part is I ordered him from GameStop first (higher price than Dorkside) and it's been murder trying to cancel that order. Surely I don't need two of these...
I know this is late, but i just got the model kit grievous, and you can use the black series grievous lightsabers on the model kit, they fit very well in the hands, and it makes the sabers in scale if your mixing star wars figures from different companies

I agree with most of what you said in this review however, the points made about the model not being play friendly is not a fair comparison as the model is more meant to be built, painted and displayed where as the black series is more so a toy which is meant to be played with. Also two different demographics. I think your review was solid but just something I wanted to say my opinion on. Also as far as accuracy and detail goes the model wins hands down as it's more into scale with figures, and overall has a better presence. But the thing the black series grevious wins at is the head articulaton and the already painted hilts. Both are solid pieces either way

I just got him a few months ago and saving for the model kit. I cannot stand the height issue and loose limb issue. I already weathered grievous a bit and am used to completely customizing figures from scratch (3d print) so given my niches with BS grievous def investing in Bandai, watched your video of the Bandai and I’m sold, reminds me of the old car model kits
Well it's not by Hasbro but it fits on the figure and it looks a lot better on the figure when you look at the figure from the front and wire in it helps the figure stay ballinced

If you search up GPSlot on eBay they do a really good Grievous cape - if you're just after the cape then that might be a better idea

Its safe to say he wont,i doubt that he can bend legs both ways and support the weight,and his legs go backwards to be the spider

I have been wondering about the comparison with the model kit. Model Kit still seems to be the king. Detail, size and chest make it the better option.
Now we have to wait for the Figuarts release.

I got a defective one too. He had two "male" left arms so his 2 left arms wouldn't connect

The model kit wins again, like it usually does. Bandai doesnt even need to do the Figuarts version.

I just got him a few months ago and saving for the model kit. I cannot stand the height issue and loose limb issue. I already weathered grievous a bit and am used to completely customizing figures from scratch (3d print) so given my niches with BS grievous def investing in Bandai, watched your video of the Bandai and I’m sold, reminds me of the old car model kits
I think this would be a fine addition to my collection
you do know that there is a separate cape for this figure that has the symbol on the back and the cape is wired so you can pose it

Well it's not by Hasbro but it fits on the figure and it looks a lot better on the figure when you look at the figure from the front and wire in it helps the figure stay ballinced
Wish they would have made the cape like Lando or the Elite Series version of this
ROBO!!! I've been waiting for this review. You were supposed to be the deciding factor in which one I would get; black series or model kit. Fence sitting spent work for my poor broke ass.
Maybe we can find a custom cape for Grievous? Other than the cape and loose knees, I like him. Looking forward to getting mine!

The only thing I don't like about this figure is that he doesn't have rotating wrists.

My damn distributor hasn't gotten the Grievous's I've been impatient ever since he told me that the figures where shipping, looks frustrating, but so so Good!
