It's meant so that the labor value that someone puts in isn't exploited and they get what they have worked for. Capitalism ignores that pretty much entirely. Billionaire's make many thousands of times more than any worker and yet they usually work the least amount. Most of the work that they do put in is just socializing with those at the top. How is it then more democratic that these billionaire's are allowed to make so much but the workers so little?
It's difficult to find connections in the US who are legit about the workers' struggle and not just posturing for cool points on social media. I think this is a song I need to listen to whenever I feel lonely or disconnected from everything. After all, during a time of homelessness when I was often depressed and dejected, it was my reading of the Communist Manifesto which had finally given me a glimmer of hope for a future I could be a part of. Same goes for prison labor, every industrial country had prison labor for MANY years. Oscar Wilde died in Britain prison labor camp, and the French prison labor system was actually a lot closer to concentration camps in how incredibly brutal and inhumane it was but that was normal for the time. Every major country including USSR got rid of prison labor in the 1950s ironically all except for the USA who continue to use it today and it's a major problem just a month ago the governor of California had to shoot down a prison reform measure which would release some prisoners and they said flat out that they couldn't do it because of how much the prison labor system lobbied them. Lenin's revolutionary strategy was made for a different time and circumstances - pre-revolutionary Russia is very different from the modern states and armies of today. Additionally, it's impossible to have any even, critical perspective on the Bolsheviks from writings made by themselves. Of course their recollection of the Revolution is very positive, even though in the October Revolution all of the labour councils (soviets) had any actual political influence annulled by Lenin almost immediately... but you won't ever see that in any Bolshevik literature.

It was a sort of half way house with its foundations being that of a worker's state which had degenerated and property and social relations being changed but where bourgeois methods of distribution survived. The law of value still existed to a large degree in soviet Union.

Capitalism ignores that pretty much entirely. Billionaire's make many thousands of times more than any worker and yet they usually work the least amount. Most of the work that they do put in is just socializing with those at the top. How is it then more democratic that these billionaire's are allowed to make so much but the workers so little?
It's difficult to find connections in the US who are legit about the workers' struggle and not just posturing for cool points on social media. I think this is a song I need to listen to whenever I feel lonely or disconnected from everything. After all, during a time of homelessness when I was often depressed and dejected, it was my reading of the Communist Manifesto which had finally given me a glimmer of hope for a future I could be a part of. I listen to this song and it feels like we're all standing together, shoulder to shoulder, eyes uplifted and feeling that grand humanity coursing through every last one of us.

@@Rudovu Yeah, I'm talking about WWII. Soviet Union had bread lines the same time every other industrial country on earth was using bread lines too. Same goes for prison labor, every industrial country had prison labor for MANY years. Oscar Wilde died in Britain prison labor camp, and the French prison labor system was actually a lot closer to concentration camps in how incredibly brutal and inhumane it was but that was normal for the time. Every major country including USSR got rid of prison labor in the 1950s ironically all except for the USA who continue to use it today and it's a major problem just a month ago the governor of California had to shoot down a prison reform measure which would release some prisoners and they said flat out that they couldn't do it because of how much the prison labor system lobbied them. It's amazing how what's left out of people's education always looks and functions a lot like propaganda.
